PartTime Oh lol about your dh and beetroot wellington!!!! My dh HATES beetroot with a real passion, I do eat it but have to hide it!! (to be fair he was force fed it by a nun when he was little) I do understand but he's given her the power over him rather than see it as challenge!

B. leftover smoothie
L. Pumpernickel with pnut butter endive and carrot, parsley salad
Sn. Slice of toast and yeast spread.
S. Veg curry, tofu yoghurt.

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 18/11/2020 12:02

@ppeatfruit my DH has no significant reasons like yours does, he just says it tastes of dirt 😂. For context though, one of his favourite foods is instant mashed potato, so we're coming from quite different places food wise!

@IJumpedAboardAPirateShip hope your DS starts to feel better soon. Also hope he liked the pancakes Smile

B: oats soaked in soya milk with soya yogurt, blueberries, raspberries and seeds
L: 2 easy peelers, butternut mulligatawny, 1 slice wholemeal bread spread with naturli
D: black bean enchiladas, avocado, beetroot and Mexican Sweetcorn
S: 2 dates, 2 choc orange rice cakes, 1/2 big pot of alpro mango yogurt

PartTime Is your dh old fashioned? Grin The first Elizabethans and Victorians disliked root vegetables because they grew in the ground, so were therefore 'dirty' Grin Eeew smash potatoes!!! Is he vegan friendly?

IJumped how did the sleepover go? If it went yet Grin

I just made some naturally sweet little cakes. Ground almonds mixed\mashed with dates and a drop of lemon juice\or grape juice to make a solid paste, sprinkled with Xmas spices. Rolled into balls then put in those little paper sweet cases and kept in the fridge.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 18/11/2020 16:29

Thanks for asking @ppeatfruit - we’re looking at getting tested and her BFF getting tested so she can have a birthday sleepover next week

Yesterday did my usual of good healthy substantial meals then binging out of boredom in the evening!
L: curried lentil and root veg soup
D: veggie potstickers
Everything else: two slices of toast and marmite, a slice of chao cheddar cheese, some starburst, several handfuls of chocolate chips and peanuts, bowl of warmed up chickpeas and sea salt

I mean you look at it and it’s not that bad (apart from toast and chocolate chips maybe) thanks to it being vegan!

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2020 09:54

IJumped Are they all at school at the moment? It's such a pain, I always forget small details like that , I'm possibly going to Mum's in S.Eng soon and wondering about being tested again (i had 2 negative tests 2 months ago) before I go, but I may still have to quarantine so I don't think I'll bother.

B. prune, pear, lemon, grape juice, linseed smoothie.
L. noodles with gently fried ,mushroom\garlic\shallots and lettuce.
Sn. A pomelo HM ground almond/date petits four.
Leftover smoothie

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 19/11/2020 13:22

@ppeatfruit DH is more old than old fashioned lol. He's vegan friendly to a point, as there are quite a few vegetables that he doesn't like and even those he eats he eats in much smaller quantities than me. He's good with tofu and a fair amount of what he eats is the vegan food that I'm cooking (even if he then adds cheese!) but he and DD14 will sometimes do something different to me. And he will even choose smash instead of my really decent roast potatoes sometimes Shock

@IJumpedAboardAPirateShip that sounds like a plan, hope your DD gets her birthday sleepover. How is your DS getting on with his brace?

Yesterday was
B: coffee/date/pb/banana/soya milk smoothie
L: mushroom stroganoff with rice and broccoli
D: burger (in a bun with smoked vegan cheese slices, gherkins, jalapeños, lettuce and Leon's burger sauce). Served with peri peri wedges, beetroot and cherry tomatoes

Honestly I think there are pros and cons to both. We’re used to it now though it sucks for the children on a social level it’s more the children who are homeless or require special education that are really suffering, but then I think a lot of my friends’ DC in the U.K. are far more anxious because they seem to be in and out of school every time someone in their year group tests positive. No right or wrong way of doing it I think.

L: grilled cheese sandwich and an apple
S: crisps and bitchin’ sauce
D: pizza on a kale and broccoli base with marinara, garlic spread, roast acorn squash, olives and jalapeños and a side salad of tomato and avocado

Wave to the newbies

B: oats soaked in soya milk with plain alpro, raspberries, blueberries and seeds
L: easy peeler, pear, Sweetcorn chowder and crackers
D: artisan nut roast, 1 Richmond sausage, mustard mashed potatoes, lots of veg and gravy
S: 2 mini sausage rolls, a couple of handfuls of wasabi Japanese snacks, 2 dark chocolate orange rice cakes, fry's chocolate cream

@Coconut80 - yes I find it does keep me full until lunch. My overnight oats do too but I haven't worked out the calories for either. I'm tempted to do that next time I make them because I'm a bit weird and quite like doing that for info lol. I'm generous with the seeds on my oats but have never calories counted them The PB powder needed using but I'm sure that has fewer calories than regular PB. I stole the idea from @IJumpedAboardAPirateShip and recommend soaking the dates in coffee and using frozen banana as it's creamier
