Definitely pleased about being vaccinated. No idea what's going to happen with our prelims/data gathering for grades now though. I'm glad she's made a firm decision now and not fannied around like Boris.

I've no idea but I'm working on the assumption it'll be broadly similar to the Nat 5 guidance? I've got to have some kind of plan to work with!

DH's friend and maths teaching colleague and his wife both very very ill over Christmas .

Young children to look after (well the DW does it all!) so must have been hell. They have no idea if kids had it as they were told not to get them tested.

Very brief note on testing this afternoon, in that we have all been asked to consent to testing (fine). No word on student tests, so wondering if minimal numbers have been delivered!

I don't think so. Remember he has already closed primaries in hotspots so it's unjustifiable if the whole country is a hotspot.

Plus he is due to give the NAHT his scientific evidence that schools are safe by 4pm.

Parl being revelled plus an 8pm statement surely means full (no schools) lockdown? The only other 8pm announcement was last March iirc?

We’re sitting in a VERY VERY boring virtual conference talk from a VERY VERY well known education person (DD) which is pitched about the first-week-of-PGCE level and is causing us to go into hysterics about the fact we’re in college listening to this while getting the notifications about BJ speaking tonight, meaning any planning we’ve done so far will be pretty much null and void. Fiddling while Rome burns!

Feel quite demoralised after my office stint today. Apparently parents have been posting all over SM about their mixed household get togethers over the holidays. Pupils flying back from travel corridor countries and coming straight into school. Which is not against the guidance, amazingly, but is not limiting contacts is it!
