You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Fuck off shadow secretary - your bastard party egged them on with their, schools must be open no matter what! And still party politics playing and no giving a shit about health and safety of workers. Labour party? I think not.

Iamnotthe1 · 30/12/2020 16:29

I'm certainly not consenting to testing instead of isolating so it may keep more kids in school but I won't physically be there.

chocolateisavegetable · 30/12/2020 16:29

I am a TA in a primary school in tier 4. I am beyond fuming at this news.

Butmiss · 30/12/2020 16:29

They can all fuck off.

Frlrlrubert · 30/12/2020 16:29

Oh I want to garrotte the smarmy insincere fucker.

TheLuckiest · 30/12/2020 16:29

@reallyneedmoresleep

I’ve spent most of my Christmas holidays in bed feeling like shit having caught COVID from school. Parents have knowingly sent their kids in with symptoms- a boy in my class came in after his dad had tested positive. I haven’t seen my mum since August. Now we’re to go back in school as normal. Fucking hell.
Me too @reallyneedmoresleep. Me too.

4 of my colleagues too.

It really does feel like an almighty 'Fuck You.'

I hope the parents vote with their feet and keep their kids at home. I would if my children were primary age.

This is homicidal madness.

SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 16:30

She’s speaking sense remotely I notice.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/12/2020 16:30

No one concerned about the shitty unreliable tests they'll be using.

Monkeytennis97 · 30/12/2020 16:30

Insane.

Evvyjb · 30/12/2020 16:31

I want to punch the smarmy git. I am so angry.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/12/2020 16:31

Fuck off with your words about support Gav.

MrsHamlet · 30/12/2020 16:31

What's a "contingency area"?

SmileEachDay · 30/12/2020 16:31

I’m really sorry, primary colleagues. My sister is a primary Head. She’s so very angry.

I’m very unclear re remote teaching for non exam years.

TaxTheRatFarms · 30/12/2020 16:31

I see that’s an unpopular opinion Grin but at least she’s telling Gav off and pointing out all the things that the dfe hasn’t actually done.

Unbelievable that primaries are back as normal. Flowers to all primary teachers here, it’s ridiculous that they’re putting you through this Sad

Timeturnerplease · 30/12/2020 16:31

Where is the sodding MONEY to pay for keeping us all ‘safe’? Why does no one ever ask about that in the Commons???

oddsbodkins · 30/12/2020 16:31

So much for following the science. I am so bloody angry I could scream.

lurch3r · 30/12/2020 16:32

What is a contingency framework area? I can't find anything on .gov.uk

Iamnotthe1 · 30/12/2020 16:32

Every decision that they have made shows their commitment to maintaining the "schools are safe" lie. There is not a single decision that was allowed to even look like it went against that. That's why all primaries are back - even in tier 4. Secondaries are only delayed because they can justify it with the "testing systems" argument.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/12/2020 16:33

I'm afraid that if it comes to being made to teach known close contacts of positive cases who should be isolating I'm out. Anxiety levels will be through the roof and more than justify being signed off because of unsafe conditions at work. I hope other teachers will do the same and I hope parents will vote with their feet too.

Timeturnerplease · 30/12/2020 16:33

I hope the parents vote with their feet and keep their kids at home. I would if my children were primary age

I agree, @TheLuckiest, but my cynical side suggests that that would swiftly be followed by ‘guidance’ expecting primary teachers to provide a full online curriculum as well as in person.

lonelyplanet · 30/12/2020 16:33

Anyone know where the exemption t4 primary list is going to be published?

MrsHamlet · 30/12/2020 16:33

Halfon can fuck off too.

Mrsbrownsgargoyle · 30/12/2020 16:33

God, you can really tell who's been U4Ted can't you.

Monkeytennis97 · 30/12/2020 16:34

@lurch3r I keep updating my emails as I get the DfE emails

DecemberStar · 30/12/2020 16:34

And community rates are so how that everywhere's closed and masks and social distancing apply anywhere that isn't. But not schools.....
