glitchy blurredness with audio that comes and goes?

Are you sure the video isn’t fine and you’ve just had too much gin?

Sounds totally shit and frustrating.

chocolateisavegetable · 14/01/2021 20:38

starry I am so sorry for your loss

Piggywaspushed · 14/01/2021 20:38

Assuming they aren't yours, that is.

CallmeAngelina · 14/01/2021 20:43

Of course they're mine!
What you mean I can filch someone ELSE giving a cosy 10 minute chat to my class?

Piggywaspushed · 14/01/2021 20:45

Noooo...

I just thought maybe you were trying to use film clips or stuff off the BBC... Blush

CallmeAngelina · 14/01/2021 20:47

Tried out some short test vids and they were fine, but every time I re0did the longer ones (for various lessons) they wouldn't upload properly.
Techis dept went AWOL and wouldn't respond. IT subject leader said his was fine so no idea. Other teacher mates said theirs were all working.

DH lent me his laptop over lunch to re-do them a third time. Got halfway through the longest and we had a power cut.

Dug out old laptop - out of power and no lead to be found....

Day got worse and worse from then on. Just finished work 15 minutes ago and first emails started pinging in at 7.30 this morning.

I’m so sorry starry

JanuaryChill · 14/01/2021 20:54

Just thinking, this isn't just Gave's fault is it: obviously part of Boris's Moonshot and didn't it occur to Hancock that such a thing needed formal health body approval?

Wonder how they've managed to suppress that news for two days as well!

noblegiraffe · 14/01/2021 20:55

Got halfway through the longest and we had a power cut.

Oh god that’s the point where I would have burst into tears I reckon.

noblegiraffe · 14/01/2021 20:56

Boris's Moonshot

Dom Cummings’ Moonshot...

Didn’t that cost billions?

Boris's Moonshot

Dom Cummings’ Moonshot...

Didn’t that cost billions?

Hang on, weren’t we supposed to be doing 10 million tests a day by now?

@Cracklefraggle

Prep room? Always plenty of ethanol and you can make a cuppa on the Bunsen Grin
And we can play with the dynamo if we need some light.

Hi everyone. @starrynight19 I'm sorry and sad to read about your friend. That could be any one if us and we're right to keep pressing.

Unfortunately I'm in formal complaint territory with my DC's primary. They will not provide any teaching or recording whatsoever so all we've got us endless super sentences and addition tasks. I say endless, they take half an hour. It's very difficult to teach while my kids are under-occupied. Yesterday DS (8) had to research from a generic PowerPoint that didn't include the information he was asked to find. It really gives our profession a bad name and plays into the nutters' hands.

Anyway, rant over. I actually love teaching online and am getting pretty comfortable with the tech. Everything is much more streamlined with just a week's practice.

So reading that - the gov were told to pilot it to see if it increased transmission, but instead piloted it for practicalities of set up?
They just don't want to know about infections in schools do they?
Absolute fuckers still going for herd immunity in the young, with adult education workers as acceptable collateral.

Ah, a nice quiet room for a seat.

You're dusting staff, chocolate?? I know one or two of us may be nearing retirement age, but surely....

We're having a "fuck off Trump" party here at home. Dd has bought bubbly and is making blue-cheese hamburgers. There's a US theme running on Alexa and we're playing games.

What a fab idea Angelina !

eitak22 · 20/01/2021 20:10

HT came and spoke to us about LFTs, said there's been very little info for heads and the people running the training had no idea about stuff. She also mentioned the efficacy and said its down to us.

Think ill still do it as cant see harm of doing it twice a week and may help with data who knows!

TrashedWarrior · 20/01/2021 20:25

Cake anyone? Covid free.

Going to need a new broom cupboard soon!

This ons is going to become an intervention room.

(I kid you not that's happened twice at our place!)
