The main Corona board is MENTAL

And then some. Christ on a bike.

I just saw this on twitter, made a teacher mildly darkly amused.

I'm watching trashy stuff on netflix and finally eating chocolate - friend saw me moaning about not being allowed out of the house and having no chocolate in and dropped off a care parcel on my doorstep with red wine, salted caramel lindt truffles, lucozade and skittles for ds and steaks and asparagus. She's ace.

Hoping my tests results are back in the morning.

Presumably the home get the final say as it's their community your ds would be going back into or you going into his community there. How often does he usually stay with you Knowing ?

Haaaaang on.

Is Knowing usually a different name??

AllDoneIn · 19/12/2020 19:21

Checking in. Had a hot chocolate and a mince pie, went for a walk, phoned a couple of friends. My shoulders are no longer round my ears.

NeurotreeWenceslas · 19/12/2020 19:21

I think so smile Smile

SmileEachDay · 19/12/2020 19:27

Eep. Sorry Knowing. I’m easily confused.

FiggyPuddingFiend · 19/12/2020 19:35

I thought I'd avoided family drama by saying clearly, since August, that we were staying put and not seeing family at Christmas as I didn't want to put anyone at risk due to being a teacher. Seems with this new announcement I'm going to get dragged into a whole load of stress from those who were going to meet up. I definitely don't want to spend the whole day on zoom!

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 19/12/2020 19:36

@SmileEachDay

Yes usually Monkeytennis

Just had a long chat with a friend in a similar position- nice not to be alone with this x

DecemberStar · 19/12/2020 19:36

Smile, I'm of course delighted that you'll be opening your bowels on Christmas Day but am not sure you really want to share the fact with us.....

Yeah everyone NCing is like a masked party (on Zoom!) suddenly happening isn't it?

When are they actually going to publish these new rules so ppl can check stuff??

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 19/12/2020 19:38

You guys are all brilliant support too xx when this shitshow is over we must do a meet up Smile

HarrietDVane · 19/12/2020 19:41

So sorry KnowingYule Flowers - I really hope you can see DS. This whole situation just sucks.

Gavgatecrashesthestaffroom · 19/12/2020 19:41

Can I sneak in here? I am in hiding and this seems like the best place to go unnoticed.

DecemberStar · 19/12/2020 19:42

This is all it says about care homes in Tier 4 at present:

Visiting relatives in care homes
Visits to care homes can take place with arrangements such as substantial screens, visiting pods, or behind windows.

Close-contact indoor visits supported by testing, which are allowed in Tiers 1-3, will not be allowed in Tier 4. Thisis_ guidance will be updated shortly clarifying how visits in Tier 4 should be conducted^

Will now go and see if schools are mentioned....

starrynight19 · 19/12/2020 19:43

Honeybadger hope you get your results back soon and friend care packages are the best.

knowingyule fingers crossed you can still see ds. This has really been cruel for you and your son.

SmileEachDay · 19/12/2020 19:44

😂😂😂😂😂

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 19/12/2020 19:44

Thanks @DecemberStar x Probably means I won't be able to.. but his care home is full of children (most have already had Covid too)... thank you xx

DecemberStar · 19/12/2020 19:46

Yeah, sadly I think you're right Yule.

This is the schools bit (plus mention of the testing further down, of course):

Going to school, college and university

Schools and colleges will remain open during term time in Tier 4 areas. The Government will continue to prioritise the wellbeing and long-term futures of our young people. It remains very important for children and young people to attend, to support their wellbeing and education and help working parents and guardians. Senior clinicians still advise that school is the best place for children to be, and so they should continue to go to school during term time.

ItsIgginningtolookalotlikeXmas · 19/12/2020 19:47

Well that was a bit unexpected

DollyMixtureLulus · 19/12/2020 19:48

All gone a bit wild, hasn't it?

We're now in Monday and Tuesday and then return on the 6th for key worker and vulnerable children only.

noelgiraffe · 19/12/2020 19:48

Go to the "keeping schools open no longer a priority" thread, I've just posted my thoughts on schools in tier 4.

Gavgatecrashesthestaffroom · 19/12/2020 19:49

As I said : Chris Whitty told me it's OK.

I think their wellbeing has been FANTASTIC this term. It has been great for all the yoong peepul.

Gavgatecrashesthestaffroom · 19/12/2020 19:51

Note the wording : Tier 4 will be with us for a while.

Boris said so on WhatsApp.

noelgiraffe · 19/12/2020 19:53

Surely that's just a copy and paste from Tier 3 guidelines.

ItsIgginningtolookalotlikeXmas · 19/12/2020 19:56

@DollyMixtureLulus do you think staff will be working from home from 6th then? They don't need everyone in for key workers dc. We certainly need the time to set up online stuff!
