You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom, especially if yo

theluckiest · 11/10/2020 22:28

Enjoy, Piggy!! Maybe have a gin before you seek it out...Grin

Piggywaspushed · 11/10/2020 22:30

Seen it now. Piece of work, that one!

CallmeAngelina · 11/10/2020 22:38

Jesus Christ.
Someone hold me back from going for the Scottish one. Angry Angry
Don't want to get myself suspended again.
I presume she's being deliberately provocative?

Augustbreeze · 11/10/2020 22:48

Karm down @CallmeAngelina ! She's so predictable and hilarious....

CallmeAngelina · 11/10/2020 22:49

Piggy, You're good at spotting name-changers. Have we met her before?

It's getting hard to spot the specific wind up merchants - it does more feel as if there is a co-ordinated attack of the clones.

Haven't been on for a while but went to see my Mum today ☺️ I could literally work all day every day and not get everything done that the new trust wants, so today I got my priorities right. Hope everyone is ok and wishing us all strength and fortitude for the week ahead.

CallmeAngelina · 11/10/2020 23:06

Hi there tadjenny. Good to see you here again. Hope your mum is bearing up OK and that you feel better for seeing her.

Augustbreeze · 11/10/2020 23:22

I think @Piggywaspushed mayhave gone to bed... as we all should!

That poster turned up a month or two ago and seems to appear sporadically. Don't think we thought she'd NCd.

I think she's great because her suggestions are so ridiculous it's easy for most people to spot her agenda.

Goodnight all 🥛

Keepdistance · 11/10/2020 23:37

Dc2 coughing.
Could be dust/heating maybe though. I notice my older one coughs when the heating is on

Just started a conspiracy theory thread instead of planning a Y10 lesson www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4048343-The-rate-of-infections-in-schools-is-being-suppressed-from-public-knowledge

That's fabulous that you saw your mum Smile. Hope you feel much lighter for it Flowers.

I volunteer in a community cafe on Sundays. It does usually mean a late night re. school stuff but I really enjoy it. We've recently decided that Sunday dinner is delegated to the dc, with dh's help. It's made such a difference! Hot dogs last week and M and S chicken pie tonight. It's the youngest's turn next Sunday. Last time he was in charge of lunch, we all got a slice of buttered toast ....

Saucery · 12/10/2020 06:45

I’m glad you saw your Mum, tadjennyp Flowers

Back into the fray today!

Hercwasonaroll · 12/10/2020 07:11

All the best everyone!

Determined to enjoy an hour of TV every night this week. Realised I haven't watched more than 3 hours all term. I need down time.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 12/10/2020 07:23

Good luck everyone.

I find myself massively enjoying Michael Palin's series on Sunday evenings BBC2 at the moment. Usually get to it on a Friday if I'm still awake, but seeing the world, and his lovely, curious but humble, presenting style, has been a joy.
MrsHamlet · 12/10/2020 07:28

Me too, DreamingofBrie. I really really miss travelling!!

GravityFalls · 12/10/2020 07:28

Ffs, my colleague has just WhatApped me a screenshot of the Facebook page of another colleague’s wife saying they’re both positive with COVID! First we’ve heard of it - and the principal sent out a snotty email on Friday saying no need to gossip as he passes on all the relevant information to us...

TheHoneyBadger · 12/10/2020 07:48

Oh dear Gravity! Be interesting to see what the head reveals today.

We don't quarantine books at all because we can in theory, sanitise before and after marking and not touch our faces. No mention of not being allowed to take them home - I have no choice but to do so unless I want to go into school on my days off to sit and mark which I don't not least because you can't find somewhere quiet without a lonely staff member needing to talk.

My phone fell in the bath yesterday. It's in a bag of rice and I have everything crossed. As a result I'm on my work laptop. Hopefully they won't spy on me Wink
