You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff. Baiters and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here only if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to beat us with then please do so elsewhere and not in the staffroom

They really are tag teaming. The same tedious talking points over and over and over. We need a cut and past response. My suggestion would be ‘Piss off back to your ‘You for Us’ facebook group you scientifically illiterate, callous whingebags in desperate need of a proper hobby’.

But then I’ve had a couple of drinks so probably best that I’m not in charge.

Mistressiggi · 29/07/2020 23:57

Noble, you being in charge is the best suggestion I've heard in a long time.
Cheers Wine

Myothercarisalsoshit · 30/07/2020 00:01

I recognised the heartless one. She's got form.
Deeply unpleasant.
Don't let her bother you HoneyBadger. She's an arse.

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 30/07/2020 00:06

It is a small group who do a load of name changes

That cut and paste response is spot on.

Never mind playing whack a mole with the virus, it‘s like trying to play whack a mole with the scientifically illiterate callous wingebags on here these days.

motherrunner · 30/07/2020 06:10

@TheHoneyBadger How are you this morning? Hope you managed to put those cruel arses out of your mind.

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/07/2020 06:59

Sorry there's shite in threads going on. You're all super stars! I hadn't heard of them for us and I'm boggling, after seeing the website, as to how they're being such twats.

Feels like a very out of control ptfa group.

Did you know that applications for teacher training are up 7% on normal this year.
What's that about then? Security?

Yep, definitely. A dance teacher (not school based) I know is talking about becoming a paramedic after some voluntary work. I've admired how she's copied through this, she's single and young and she's aced it despite being self employed, but it's clear she's had a shake around how easy it could be to be penniless.

Same thing happened after the 2009 crash.

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/07/2020 07:00

I haven't seen these threads and I can tell you it's been wonderful for my mh. Please think about muting anything that seems twattish.

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/07/2020 07:02

Increasing self isolation to 10 days is going to impact schools even more initially. Gah.

Piggywaspushed · 30/07/2020 07:32

There's a law firm planning to take schools how enforce mask wearing to court. The ES quoted Them for Us as being delighted with this.

Piggywaspushed · 30/07/2020 07:33

How can any organisation purporting to support education and schooling want their childrens' schools taken to court??

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/07/2020 07:51

I don't understand the purpose of them for us.

Piggywaspushed · 30/07/2020 07:51

So, looking at Climbdad's latest OP, is it now a thing ( I haven't seen MNHQ say this) that no one is allowed to post non peer reviewed stuff as fact. if so, the government is in trouble! The DfE guidelines start with non reviewed science.

But , if it is, we can all gaily report any mention of the NSW study!

How much of anything is peer reviewed at the moment , though? I thought that took quite a lot of time?

I think anything that is out of date or has been proven to be incorrect definitely shouldn't stand : eg comments such as children don't catch it or spread it' which I STILL routinely see, and the nonsense about oxygen deprivation.

That ClimbDad has certainly got the anti doommongers rattled.

motherrunner · 30/07/2020 07:53

Well, they’ll ‘win’ and they can enjoy their 2 weeks of child free time and then when I get a hint of a cough I’ll be off. I’ll take my test and then maybe DD will have a cough. Then I’ll self isolate for 14 days and then maybe DS will have a cough ... And I’m just one staff member.

They should be careful what they wish for, schools could easily close if we follow the isolation and testing guidance religiously.

motherrunner · 30/07/2020 07:55

ClimbDad really rules you posters as he speaks in facts. He’s a breathe of fresh air.

motherrunner · 30/07/2020 07:55

*riles

Piggywaspushed · 30/07/2020 07:56

Should have said, if MNHQ are doing this, I am very glad. The trickle effect of a poster saying something plainly wrong and then others repeating it , so that it becomes a widely held belief is actually dangerous (I'd love The Times to have to print a retraction of that recent article, for example). This isn't just MN : you can see in wider society by the teenagers being let loose, by the playdates and parties being arranged and so on, that people believe children are safe , and that they are safe around children(and I do hope to God that , in the end, they are correct). The government knows this : they just don't have a (cheap) solution.

The increase in ASB on my estate has been marked last few weeks , so those kids must have been doing SOME learning/education when schools were in session because we all saw far less of them!

motherrunner · 30/07/2020 08:03

Absolutely @Piggy. I’m sick of hearing BJ’s sound bites popping into everyday conversation. Say something so many times and it’s becomes ‘fact’.

motherrunner · 30/07/2020 08:04

And on BBC news today:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53588275

How does he get away with it????

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/07/2020 08:06

What's the NSW study?

Saucery · 30/07/2020 08:25

Quite furious about notification to DofE only being “if the school wants to”.
Quite furious about it all, in fact. I think I will steer clear of any school threads today.
ClimbDad is doing brilliantly, getting reputable research out there.

Piggywaspushed · 30/07/2020 08:28

NSW = New South Wales. Used for ages as evidence that schoolkids don't get the virus.

Piggywaspushed · 30/07/2020 08:31

He was called out by Anne Longfield and Keir Starmer and RLB and Andrew Marr on those claims at the time, and said something dismissive about Starmer 'picking holes in everything instead of being positive'. Sounds a familiar line!

On a s ide note, the surnames Feuchtwang and Humpherson are just the best!! Who would argue with someone called Feuchtwang!?

Piggywaspushed · 30/07/2020 08:32

The ADs and co are trying to get Climbdad banned I think. A sub campaign.

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 30/07/2020 08:40

All this re-writing history, false truths and trying to get people banned is leaning towards extremist behaviour.

Imagine - MN may eventually have a strap, ine sayin ‘You are not allowed to post anything that has not been formally approved by Us for Them.’ Gilead is knocking at our doors
