You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff. Baiters and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here only if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

Third paragraph from the end * sorry should read sorrow.

Second from the end puppet leader was originally puppet leader.

Genius!

RigaBalsam · 30/05/2020 09:28

Tony Hadley and Ben Lewis have just said some lovely things about teachers on sky.

Piggywaspushed · 30/05/2020 10:14

Awww....love Tone.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/05/2020 10:51

Still all up in the air in Wales.
Who and when will they return? Not decided yet.
When will the summer holiday be? Not sure although it bad been promised it would happen as usual many weeks ago.
How long will the autumn term be and who will attend? Don't know.
It's all v interesting and I've started a new thread about it.
I hope we are learning from what returning to school looks like in England.

pfrench · 30/05/2020 11:09

I had my thread about those lazy furloughed folk going off down the beach with lazy teachers, deleted. Why is that any different to all the threads slagging off teachers all the time?

Mistressiggi · 30/05/2020 11:17

I'm not surprised there really. Some are more equal than others.
I once had a photo taken with Tony H. He was very very tall. I was short and blushing.

eitak22 · 30/05/2020 11:25

@pfrench my husband and ar least 4 of my friends are furloughed and I cant tell you they are not hanging out on the beaches. They want to be at work!!

Mistressiggi · 30/05/2020 11:28

Of course they do. Just like teachers want to be at work. ("At" work as opposed to "working" as we're already working).
But being furloughed, you could spend the day doing whatever, you aren't allowed to work. (I imagine sadly many spend the day wondering if their job is secure or will they be made redundant).
Anyway I'm vowing not to log on to anything work related today and to maybe talk to my children a bit.

FrippEnos · 30/05/2020 11:31

I suspect because the demographic of MN is likely to be more furloughed workers than teachers and they are protecting their user base.

One rule for one another for the Mumsnet elite.

mumsneedwine · 30/05/2020 11:51

Maybe you should have pointed out that you went to the beach to test your eyes. Seems to be a good reason these days.
Like using your instinct. Mine says I'm staying home a bit longer thanks.
Love and best wishes to all my primary colleagues. Been speaking to a few and they are apprehensive but determined to smile for kids. I'm on kw rota this week and have blinged my mask with sequins.

You can quote people now!

It's ridiculous, the number of threads that are left up about teachers, yet that one got deleted faster than you can say "Gove is an arse".

TheHoneyBadger · 30/05/2020 12:43

Thanks for the fairytale Smile

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/05/2020 13:06

Do you have to pay to get the quotes?

pfrench · 30/05/2020 13:20

That can't be true, all the ones I've spoken to... blah blah bullshit.. Hmm

FrippEnos · 30/05/2020 13:22

NeurotrashWarrior

Nope, the quotes are free (its next to the message poster button). but they are not letting posters threads quotes together yet.

FrippEnos · 30/05/2020 13:24

You committed the sin of not remembering that it it must be us lazy teachers that are on the beach all day.

Everyone else is a fucking saint LOL

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 30/05/2020 13:32

I am surprised we haven’t been blamed for the increase in sea levels around the U.K. due to all the splashing about in the water

Given all the crap that we have had over the last couple of months I'm surprised that we aren't being blamed for the dumping of PPE.

Nope.
DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/05/2020 13:59

I'm waiting for them to downgrade to 1m for distancing. To get more businesses back but also to fit more kids in! (Wales so still talking in terms of distancing rather than bubbles).

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/05/2020 14:17

Oh so not on the app then!
