You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff. Baiters and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here only if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

I'm back tomorrow. We have a 'socially distanced' meeting in the hall. It feels wrong sitting in a room with 16 other people after having kept safe for 2 months. Feeling sick with nerves Sad

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 31/05/2020 22:10

Good luck to all of our primary colleagues - hope all goes well (as can be expected) and that the children are still lovely

Good luck to all of you who are back tomorrow Flowers. I hope it goes as well as possible.

Sureitwillbegrand · 31/05/2020 22:26

Good luck tomorrow will be thinking of you all.

DreamingofBrie · 31/05/2020 22:32

I'd bookmarked the "teaching as a second career" thread to read later, as it is a second career for me, so I thought it would be interesting to read. Will approach with trepidation now!

Good luck to everyone going back to school tomorrow. I am still contemplating buying a case of wine for the staffroom, but don't think that it will be enough for 1 each.

We're a through school so I'll be in on rota once a week to supervise the primary children.

TheHoneyBadger, sorry to hear that you are off sick. I hope you recover soon and that you and ds are ok Flowers.

pfrench · 31/05/2020 22:56

Good luck folks!

I'm a second career teacher too. Will read it at some point.

WhyNotMe40 · 31/05/2020 23:03

Back tomorrow and though I know our HT has worked to the NEU check list, I am not looking forward to it. I have been twitchy and cranky all day.

Mistressiggi · 31/05/2020 23:38

Yes all the best if you're in tomorrow BrewCakeGin

MrsHerculePoirot · 01/06/2020 00:20

Good luck to all tomorrow who are going in. I suspect it will be quite weird but try to enjoy it and focus on the nice bits! I’ll be waiting here with cake and biscuits for your return and I’m sure someone can find the toffee vodka too...

eitak22 · 01/06/2020 07:20

Well I've barely slept so let's see what today holds.

Our rota has changed as we have a 1/3 of the children in YrR not coming in this week be interesting to see if that trend happens with other years.

tadjennyp · 01/06/2020 07:41

Good luck to everyone today. Will be thinking of you. I start my new job today so am hoping I will find out some information! Hope you are feeling better soon, honey .

SallyLovesCheese · 01/06/2020 07:50

We're on INSET today, so online training at 9am. I'm in tomorrow.

Good luck, All.

I'm a second career teacher, too. Might go and read that thread, but not if it'll be detrimental to my health!

MurrayTheDemonicTalkingSkull · 01/06/2020 07:53

Good luck. Thinking of you all.

Asuitablecat · 01/06/2020 08:03

raspberryrippleicecream · 01/06/2020 08:44

Good luck everyone. I'm in but only for training today.

Beawillalwaysbetopdog · 01/06/2020 09:00

Damn, the mumsnet mafia have got to the headteacher at my school 🙁 They're looking at the feasibility of live teaching due to parental complaints.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/06/2020 09:01

Good luck everyone.

I’ve been off for a while because I’m meant to be seeing a specialist and starting treatment following test results but covid has put a spanner in the works. It’s a long term condition and I’m ok but thanks for concern. I just need the hospital to crack on.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/06/2020 09:02

Hope staff isn’t primary or we will run out of thread

Mistressiggi · 01/06/2020 09:04

The feasibility of live teaching is that it isn't feasible. It's banned where I work. Equity, resources, privacy, child protection - make sure your head is thinking of all this when looking at how feasible it is. Even if we didn't have a ban, unions here are clear teachers can't be made to do video it is their choice.

RigaBalsam · 01/06/2020 09:24

Read in the daily mail three Mother's are wanting to sue the government for school closures and social distancing due to psychological damage.

Wonder if they are mumsnetters?

RigaBalsam · 01/06/2020 09:24

Daily Fail sorry typo
