They won't have American accents if they manage to stick it out over here.

The rest is an issue though.

They're probably being given elocution lessons already.

Ridiculous isn't it! AI didn't sabotage his speech, but which is he blaming? Can't be both AI and Reid's fault.

As usual he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I assume it was a joke about Reid Hoffman or his digital twin Reid AI. Probably referring to something in Hoffman’s own speech about AI needing a kill switch.

He’s not really blaming a poor bloke called Reid.

So I have a few 'titles' questions for 'the room at large'.

Do A and L also have an HRH? If so, would they have been put in abeyance when their parents were?

The Sandringham agreement was that HAM were not to use their titles 'for commercial purposes'. Would that agreement also apply to the children?

And finally, in the UK, is it even acceptable for a titled member of the RF to use their titled for a commercial purpose. I know Zara and Peter have had endorsement deals, but they aren't titled. Will we, in 10-15 years see "Princess Lilibet ONLY wears Manolos" or "Prince Archie ONLY drives a BMW" or will that be reserved for us in the US?

Agreed. I have always thought the same.

Diana was a very insecure and therefore jealous person who would find it hard to come second her her sons lives.

Had H still married M it would have been very interesting to see Diana, arch press manipulator, take her on.

I think Diana would not have liked her at all, there not being room for two “stars”.

Kate, being quieter and not one to push herself forward, might have ended up as the more favoured daughter in law once M arrived as contrast.

I saw a post on TwiX earlier by an American who had clearly fallen for the H&M stories. Trying to deflect from Harry's current disaster and Spencer's book imploding, they were talking about William and his "widely reported temper". I was heading to work and couldn't be arsed with the online drama - but it's this nasty, unfounded rumour. Again. There's been more documented cases of Meghan losing her temper, and Harry than there has with William. The only real reports of William's temper are "reported" by the Sussex Squad.

But it allowed the usual horrible rumours to spread. And also someone dredged up reports after the Bashir interview of William being upset and angry at Diana - and how he pushed her away when she tried to cuddle him. The actions of a 13yo boy were being twisted into something really nasty.

That's why H&M are so very damaging. Not only to the Monarchy, but to individuals as well. Unforgivable.

Starryfifty · Yesterday 00:18

You would wonder how can H be content with these constant transactional relationships. Are these the type of relationships he wants for his children? As dysfunctional as the RF is, there is a strong family unit. Looks like the hideous Ellen Degenerate is now a "friend " in UK. It just seems so empty and soulless

AlexandraCarrington · Yesterday 00:28

No, it wouldn't be acceptable. Peter Phillips as you say isn't titled, but even he got some stick when he took part in an advertising campaign.

The only real reports of William's temper are "reported" by the Sussex Squad.

Well there was the dog bowl incident as reported by Harry (who isn't the most reliable narrator of course). But I wouldn't take a bit of pushing and shoving between two brothers as evidence of very much.

I’m happy to be corrected but I believe as Grandchildren of the monarch A & L are HRH.

As H & M have agreed not to use HRH I would expect this to be extended to A & L. The Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh decided their children would not use HRH nor Prince/Princess but at 18, Louise and James could have chosen to but decided not to.

KatherineParr · Yesterday 00:34

A&L are HRH under the George V letters patent - nothing has been put into place to change that. They weren't put into abeyance at the same time as H&M otherwise it would have been explicitly referred to in the Sandringham agreement. Same applies for the agreement on commercial purposes - nothing technically stops them from using the titles. I personally think it's a bit nonsensical for Harry & Meghan's HRH to be in abeyance whilst still having HRH children. Nevertheless that seems to be what has happened.

Titles aren't meant to be used for commercial purposes, no. Beatrice & Eugenie are the only real comparators but at work they use 'Beatrice York' and 'Eugenie York'. The only royals who use titles in their commercial work are Harry & Meghan. If A&L go down the merching route then I don't personally think their titles are sustainable but that will probably be an issue for William. A&L may choose to be professionally known by their surnames, in which case the titles may very well not be a problem.

Kirschcherries · Yesterday 00:35

WRT using titles for commercial purposes, some Dukes and Earls do use their full title to advertise/promote their estates. For example the Dukes of Marlborough and Sir Winston Churchill are prominently named on the Blenheim Palace website.

Emma Thynn uses Marchoness of Bath in her instagram account.

A key factor is whether they are a working Royal or just titled.

AlexandraCarrington · Yesterday 00:39

The Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh decided their children would not use HRH nor Prince/Princess but at 18, Louise and James could have chosen to but decided not to.

Lady Louise turned 18 in November 2021, not long after all the fuss about Archie and Lili not being prince and princess. So even if she'd wanted to, it probably wouldn't have happened, for fear of provoking another tantrum from Monteshitshow.

KatherineParr · Yesterday 00:47

The aristocracy use their titles freely - it's the royal element that causes issues. If Charles/William want they can use letters patent to take away the HRH & Prince and make Harry & Meghan into a non royal Duke & Duchess of Sussex. At that point it's up to them what they do with their remaining titles. Some people feel strongly about the Duke of Sussex title but I don't personally agree. There's 24 non royal Dukes around who use their titles, particularly if they are promoting stately homes, and no one minds them. The 'HRH Prince' title is the significant title that needs restricting from commercial use.

The reason this is doing the rounds currently is that Ingrid Seward mentioned it during her interview promoting her new book, Catherine & DIana.

I think the York may cross the line occasionally - didn't Beatrice have the tea party in the Middle East which was advertised as 'Afternoon tea with Princess Beatrice of York'? I don't remember if she used the HRH or not.

It was round the time there had been more revelations about AMW, and it was reported that Charles and William had offered the royal auditors to look at the York daughters' finances.

This from Richard Eden Palace Confidential is sweetly cutting;

There are occasionally weeks when the gradations of royalty become radiantly clear – much as is the case when a No 1 Seed is drawn against a wild card qualifier at Wimbledon.
And this has been such a week, with the Prince and Princess of Wales displaying the high-wattage power that no other royal couple can match at the premiere of Tom Cruise’s latest film, Digger, in London’s Leicester Square.
While William was a figure of almost Edwardian splendour – bearded and sporting a velvet smoking jacket trimmed with silk – Catherine was all film star poise and glamour in a violet Jenny Packham gown and an array of jewels from the royal collection.
By contrast, Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, west London, without the Duchess of Sussex, who was spied out in the Cotswolds enjoying a pub rendezvous with erstwhile US chat show queen Ellen DeGeneres, who retired in 2024 after being accused of creating a ‘toxic’ on-set atmosphere, and DeGeneres’s wife, former Ally McBeal star Portia de Rossi.
Since then, Harry’s gone solo again, jetting out to New York to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting about the dangers of Artificial Intelligence. Some have questioned whether Harry is the right person to lecture us about intelligence of any kind...

“my husband’s grandmother”

Wasn't it at least once 'his grandmother' - even worse.

Even Prince Charles and Princess Anne used to say 'the Queen' when referring to her in interviews.

I remember someone asking Princess Anne, during an official visit, how her mother was, and she replied, “still the Queen.”

Probably hoping if he shines brightly enough the paid gigs will come rolling in.
I doubt the phone is ringing off the hook, though. Certainly not after that unmitigated disaster.

He looked absolutely furious on stage... I'd say he was scared going home to Markle, another embarrassing event for the them. The rehabilitation of their image is failing spectacularly before our eyes. Happy to have a front row seat!

Yep, it will be very hard to be bone fide royals if they hace American accents especially being called Archie & Lilibet.. they really messed up the names if they are hoping to now be proper royals again.
I am surprised Meghan didn't use Alexandra for Lili, it was apparently the name Kate really wanted for Charlotte but was vetoed as Charlotte is the female version of Charles

Oh God here we go…..
According to GB news :
“Sarah Ferguson 'days away from signing seven-figure book deal”

Couldn’t be bothered to copy the link, the headline is enough.

I really think the market is oversaturated with Royal books. I’ve hung around in two different Waterstones this week. Literally no interest, no one is buying, no one is even pausing to look at CS book.
I did notice a William and Catherine book on the top shelf of the other Royal books - apparently that is Ingrid Seward’s latest. Well no one was looking at the others in the genre so good luck with that Ingrid.
No doubt a few hard core fans will buy, probably from Amazon, but I doubt there will be many wanting to read Fergie’s “true” story.

Surely Kate could call Charlotte Alexandra if that's what she really wanted? Alexandra is and perfectly acceptable name. I think that's nonsense.

This is what I don't get. How anyone could be happy living that life is beyond me. I don't think they are happy at all. I can't see that there is anything good or positive ahead. Harry isn't going to get asked to do any speaking gigs in the future. He has nothing to say. She is going to use anyone she can to get influence at any cost, but what that influence will be is anyone's guess. They are the new Duke and Duchess of York.

Not very imaginative choices at all.

The only people interested in hanging out with Markle are Ellen & Portia.. not off to a good start. Markle must be furious with Hazzas latest embarrassing flop
