Buckingham Palace have said they won't be commenting further on the book. But I expect plenty of others will be and it's not even published yet so I started this second thread. I really liked Diana and thought she got treated shabbily by Charles. But really writing a book of gripes 30 years later is not on imho. I noticed on the news Harry declined to comment on it. Sensible decision for once.

Diana's parents, siblings and friends. Non royals, but they matter too.

I know what the so called "virginity test" is, but no respected medic would ever conduct it, because you cannot prove this by physical examination of the genitalia. If it was reported as fact, then the reports are wrong.

So maybe I could bring up king Charles close friend Jimmy savilles as a moral equivalent? Or his other close friend the convicted nonce Peter ball? There was a third nonce who was a good friend, but I forget his name. Are they all moral equivalents?

The reason Harry has done what he has is because he married for love, and he puts his wife - the mother of his children - above all else. That has ultimately created the bind in which he now finds himself. He saw, all too painfully, what the Institution did to his mother, and he was determined that history would not repeat itself with his own wife and family. And, having been effectively abandoned by his family, he now has to sing for his supper to earn his own living and build a future for his wife and children. That isn't some grand act of rebellion or perfidy; it is what he has to do to survive outside the system he was born into.
