If you need security then I would think you need security in the same vehicle as you. Not in the one behind. Or do both vehicles contain security personnel? Is the driver of the car the kids travel in security plus 1 or even 2 people in the 2nd vehicle?

I imagine the school change was effected quickly as they had already got knowledge of which schools had vacancies and had possibly already done a tour from their summer research. So they know their options once they decided the traffic to Dragon was an issue. But, unless they have a long lease on their current home it’s possible they will soon move elsewhere which could mean the kids need to go to a third school as this new school then becomes uncommutable. Poor kids.

I think it's important to take proper security advice and act on it. Taking steps to ensure a safe journey to school is wise. Drawing attention with a big convoy? The other royals do not travel this way as a matter of course.

If we weren’t discussing the gruesome twosome would the same security arrangements of others be getting picked apart like this?

I have puzzled over this too and wondered if The Sun did amock-up for some legal reason about not using an original. When newspapers feature WhatsApp chats, they never look like mine do.

Then they (The Sun) could say anything?

What do you mean? The security arrangements of the Sussexes were discussed because they chose to make them headline news.
When other royals do so, I'm sure it'll be discussed. However. They don't.

I suspect that anyone apart from the principals are security and if a car contains 4 principals how is one security going to be any/much use in an emergency. And it’s not just these two who have this kind of security. It seems to be a worldwide standard for those who warrant it and whilst I
understand why the picking apart of the school run/security is happening I very much doubt it would be happening if it wasn’t the HAMS involved.

I think it’s very clear what I mean. And no, I don’t believe others would be getting their security arrangements picked apart like this if they rocked up to the school the way these two have.

Picking apart? Or discussing?
Ok - you start a thread on the Wales' security arrangements, or the Edinburghs', or Anne's.

No one else would rock up to school like these two have, though. Isn't that the issue?

And, yes, Harry has made a huge deal of his security provision.

I wasn’t picking it apart, I was trying to understand how it worked and was thinking about the first school where I don’t think it was mentioned that HAM accompanied them. One vehicle with 2 or 3 principals and the security seems easier to control. But I haven’t any experience of it.

Well I would assume it is because the other people do not make it a massive issue and talk to the press about it.

Probably if they were trying to fleece taxpayers into paying for it.

So using this information the multiple cars being used to take the kids to school implies HAM believe the kids are at a high risk?

I’m not sure what has prompted this questioning of other posters this morning duchess , however your own comment highlights “the principle “ , the children are not “the principals” , so I’m not sure it’s relevant.

At higher risk than the children of the Heir apparently. I don't for a minute think that the number of cars their paid security think appropriate is reflective of an objective assessment of risk

In the odd photo I have seen of W or C driving the DC , there is a security person in the passenger seat which makes sense .
I really can’t imagine the Wales family rocking up with a convoy of SUVs.
From what I have seen their security is quite discrete - chinos and open neck shirts .
A friend saw QC and sister in Ballater recently with a couple of very casually dressed guys nearby that she assumed were security but she couldn’t be sure as they blended in so well .

I’m no fan of the gruesome twosome but I’m finding the picking apart of the security in order to find fault quite off putting.

And you’re correct to bring up there being more than one principal. This is the paragraph I forgot to add.

For four principals in a single car, having 2–3 protection officers is a common starting point for a moderate-risk arrangement, but the actual requirement should come from a professional security risk assessment

Are the children principals? Of course they are. But even if they weren’t the amount of security the HAMS are travelling with are appropriate for two principals - Harry and Meghan.

Do they have a need for this level of security? I doubt it but for sure we’ll know very soon if it’s all in their head or their paranoia is justified.

And since when is it wrong to ask questions?

Im sorry, I replied to you but I was referring to the general picking apart of the security thats going on.

So much of what’s being queried is just a case of using common sense to come up with an answer and it’s not a good look.

They even manage to make the school run performative 🙄

The other parents must be eye-rolling and pissing themselves laughing - these two clowns rolling in with their circus - it will be a spectacle of ridicule - I wonder if an absurd number of PPO keep coming out of the car, the horns honk and the doors fall off.

The clowns 🤡

11add1 · Yesterday 09:28

Why so much flipping security on the first day of school?
Did they expect to be ambushed by the PTA? Forcefully dragged into helping set up fund-raising coffee morning? Crowded in and compromised by a mob of year 3 boys and girls? Near catastrophic clash with the class teacher because Archie shows up with cheap sticker type name labels instead of hand-sewn woven ones?
They're acting like the prep school gates are an active combat zone.

Williaminagingerwig · Yesterday 09:29

Picking apart of security in order to find fault
Not what's happening. The Sussexes should not be sharing details of their children and sharing details of their security.
Nobody is picking it apart. It was discussed. They're trying to get limitless taxpayer funded security whatever and wherever. That is their agenda.
Because they're royal we shouldn't question this?

Williaminagingerwig · Yesterday 09:30

@TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow why do you keep referring to them as "the gruesome twosome"? That's not very nice.
