What an odd thing to use books for. Laptops get really hot underneath. Nothing says "I pretend to work here" like using books as a laptop stand rather than... a laptop stand.

Look at the ergonomics of it. How does she reach the touchpad? And looking at the photo, she is sitting too far from the table to be using a mouse.Sure, there might be a mouse at her right hand, but looking at the photo her elbow won't be on the table.

Oh, and why are these laptops never plugged in ? She can't be spending hours working there, because there is nowhere to plug it in.

And the pen and paper. It's at the wrong side if she is right handed. Of course the servant maybe moved the pen to put the tray down, at her left side. So maybe she is left handed ? But that makes the touchpad/ mouse situation worse. Cos the tray is where the mouse should be, and if she reaches up for the touchpad, the sleeve of that jumper will go right into her cup of tea or knock it over.

Sorry, I am an amateur photographer, so I tend to over analyse photos.

So then, why have they sent their children to a school that isn't used to HNW individuals?

I think this would only work in an absolute monarchy. In a democracy you can't make individuals do what you want. No amount of money would compensate for removing their titles. Harry still thinks he's a working royal because of who his Dad is, he'll still use the titles even if they were technically removed. The attempt would only fuel the fire of grievances and make everything a whole lot worse.

Plus Charles is doing a good job why would he abdicate? I'm sure William wants his family to be a bit older before he becomes King. No one needs to react to the latest Sussex drama.

Why can’t they open their own doers? Every single thing has to be a performance.

It was the children’s first day and I’m more inclined to think why would both parents not go if their working hours allowed it. In fact, I recently went with my daughter when my two youngest grandchildren went back to school as my son in law had to be at work. It meant if both children were upset we could comfort one each.

Why I never thought they were books is because they are so large, yet so thin. My photo insight did not spot that they were books :-) Because what an odd book format.

It's a very large book, it's at least A4, which is unusual for a children's book. Have a look online. It's quite something.

Lots of children's books are A4.
Using them as a laptop stand is.... odd, As Ever.

Google tells me it’s for security reasons.

It means the bodyguards are in control of the immediate surroundings before the principal steps out.

1. WhatsApp groups are buzzing - I think we're meant to think they're so excited. It could just as easily be with "oh heck, I'm not happy". In face ime WhatsApp groups buzz much more with annoyance!

More and more seem to be occurring everywhere these days including here and I think it really detracts from the value of reality and can confuse relevant conversation.

It’s all so indiscreet and in your face, flashy 80s celebrity style. Not royal or super rich people's style, which is more subtle, discreet, and would try to blend their royal offspring in so they are not mortified and othered.

Arguably, blending in also helps with security.

I think it's important to take proper security advice and act on it. Taking steps to ensure a safe journey to school is wise. Drawing attention with a big convoy? The other royals do not travel this way as a matter of course.
