Earl Spencer does seem to like hanging out his family's dirty laundry doesn't he ? He's no gentleman for sure.

I wonder if his daughters will return the compliment along the lines of Why We Cut Our Father Out Of Our Lives ? Now that might be worth reading, there must be some real dirt in there.

Yes, indeed, or one of his former wives? I'm wondering how he'd like it if they dished the dirt and made claims about phone calls decades ago.

Intergenerational toxicity from Diana’s Dad’s generation, to Diana herself and her generation to CSs children - all falling out with each other - maybe it’s their ‘normal’ way to behave.

Do we know if W&H were close with any of the cousins on the Spencer side?

They were invited to their weddings, but I don't know how in touch they are.

Sorry, why don't you want to believe it? I don't understand the problem, when we know both were in love with others.

Your question is making me really think about why; Me putting King Charles on a pedestal, me being Pollyanna’ish (not a real word) about wanting KC to be able to live out his final chapter as reigning monarch without being faced with his past choices (if true) whilst living with cancer and dealing with his wayward youngest son. Just because I have the unrealistic notion that Heads of State are … I don’t want to write ‘better’ or ‘above’ … than the rest of us. Deep down I know everyone of us (including Royals) are all as flawed as each other in some capacity (not including crimes against children etc).

No offence is meant to anyone by what I’ve written. It just my own thoughts/thinking which I was asked to explain.

Could team up with Megs for some tips there. She’s looking for work.

I’m curious as to why they were chosen for the gig. Were they requested by Harry or was it their turn to do an engagement.

Wouldn’t they only take turns for royal engagements though?

In regards to the salacious allegation in CS book that Charles was in love with his valet. I’ve seen commentary on X that it was Michael Fawcett and was well known about at the time. I don’t want to believe it myself but I know that doesn’t make it not true. Really uncomfortable reading/viewing.

There are gay rumours about pretty much every male public figure. There are stories about Andrew which date back decades as well. As to that am the rumours attached to every week known make actor, there's a pattern. I don't know why this is a common trope but it is and I tend not to believe them simple because it's such a cliche when releasing tell all biographies.

noonames · Today 14:32

It does seem weird that KC3 would be in love with his valet - people are always complaining about his womanising and surely there would have been other rumours of close relationships with men over the years if he were gay or bisexual.

Edited

I was thinking she'll probably write her memoirs soon

I have located a photo of Charles looking neither giddy nor like a lottery winner.

I can’t think why Penguin thought this book would be a good idea. The optics are terrible. I can’t understand the Sussex PR strategy. The optics are also terrible. It’s as if they see themselves as a pair of sharks ganging up for a feeding frenzy on a school of fish that is the RF, while forgetting that public opinion is sailing around them with a big boat and a big spear.

Penguin is a US based firm and Diana's story is still strong in parts of the country. I think it's possible that the book was written and published with the US audience in mind. I have a feeling that sales are going to be much stronger here than in the UK.

William & Kate went to Emily McCorquodale's wedding as well (daughter of Lady Sarah). They didn't go to the wedding of Lady Kitty or Lady Amelia Spencer (neither did Harry). I've always had the impression he's not close to the Spencers. It would make sense given they seem to have largely grown up in South Africa.

I'm sure I've read both that he knew about the book & that he didn't!

Of course knowing about it doesn't mean that you know the contents.
