Please don't go anywhere, you're the Queen of these threads. Don't let some tiresome little twerp chase you away 👸

💯💯💯

I follow Karen Spencer (third wife) and just looked up her IG account to see if she has posted anything recently. She hasn’t. But her bio says “Public figure” - is this how people with a large following view themselves if they feel they are a household name?

Also agree.
I have to scroll past a lot more of this here and the last thread than on previous ones and wish the discussion was kept on track without various bits of nonsense but that’s people for you.

Endless gifs? Where?

@jeffgoldblum I would name change- I get you shouldn't but it does make MN more fun

I was for a time very recognisable, and that meant others commented. It is much more freeing since I NC regularly.

I know you are right and it would make my life easier….but I’m Jeff , I have been Jeff so long that, I don’t think for me it would be the same mn if I lost my identity, I know that’s probably stupid but 🤷‍♀️
anyway…lets get back to ham!!

I’ve scrolled and can’t see that anyone’s shared this:- James Cordon hosted the Invictus event last night. I read approx 350 attendees and 1.7 million raised. Only another 26.3 million to find.

Wow! That is pretty rude. I thought personal attacks weren’t allowed on MN.
I don’t think anybody was asking anybody to stop making threads, just commenting on general drift.
A shame if it is taken that way.

Starryfifty · Today 09:07

350 attended. I'm surprised tbh

I think there's been an online campaign (or several campaigns), weaponising social media, to destabilise the UK generally for over a decade (starting at least with brexit). Not sure Soros is behind it - don't know enough about him- but I think Russia certainly is involved. I remember reading the disturbing figure recently that nearly 50% of online posts are thought to be from bots! (I promised I'm not a bot myself, although I guess that's the kind of thing a bot would say 😁)

I think some people on this thread should get cut down on fox news, or Facebook or whatever they are imbibing.

Given some thread police people have a go for comments about the wider royal family on this thread this conspiracy delulu is a bit much.

And as noted before attacks on Soros are usually anti-semitic and in this context completely doolally: he is in bed with Putin now I mean really!

DealorNoDealDuchess · Today 09:07

TBH I'm trying to avoid reading about that book, skimming posts and avoiding articles. I was not huge fan of Diana but it all sounds so unpleasant and negative I don't need to see it.

James cordon?? , another bully who has been rejected by the US then . Water finds it’s own level.

A huge proportion of SM posts supporting Scottish Independence were found to have come from Iran.

Just catching up from yesterday evening and I see the thread went a bit sideways overnight!

Just wanted to add my support to the others and say your are doing a sterling job on the PR threads @jeffgoldblum. These threads are popular because of what they offer, I’m here for the entertainment, the different opinions, funny comments, gifs (and I don’t mind blinds either 😊). You can’t please all the people all of the time, so no point trying.
Definitely don’t let anyone hound you off the thread or the board. Just keep doing you and if people don’t like it, then its a them problem. 💐

Finally, the Spencer book is just plain nasty and unnecessary. The lengths someone will go to make some money. Very grubby

Going by that tweet am I understanding correctly that the Invictus awards are awarded to people in Invictus for supporting, Invictus? That seems an unnecessary and circular award to create.

Happy to be corrected if it's just a badly worded tweet.

It has been a long recognised feature of other boards that disruptors appear overnight when monitoring is reduced and America is awake.

Can't believe there is another generation - George- trying to settle into Eton while accusations swirl about Charles and Diana. I'm sure William is furious.

Whilst there does seem to be good evidence of attempts to destabilise countries in the West using social media, I agree with you that linking Soros to them is strange. I have seen no evidence that he is involved in things like this although he is often accused of being behind, well quite a lot of things.

I find it interesting that, in the case of some posters, if you quote them, so presumably they get an email alerting them, there's a response that seems incredibly fast (judging by my slow typing).
If you just add their name and a quote - zilch.
It's almost like they're not actual people reading the thread and are something that responds super quickly to emails.
I try it out on what I think might be bots people who may not be posting in completely good faith.
It's surprising how often it happens as I've described.

Frankly the Spencer book is making me feel tired and disillusioned as well. That a brother would do that to the sister and nephews he claims to love. I am encouraged by the fact that, judging by comment sections, very few are taking what he says as true. Truth will out, people's true characters are revealed, it may take time but I believe that the truth always wins eventually.

The claim Spencer made about the Queen and his father is the one (so far) that has done the damage. Every single comment about it on SM I've seen has said it's clearly not based in fact.

Anyone with a functioning brain can see how ridiculous that it. It has shot his credibility, and therefore the whole books credibility, to shreds.

I always notice the time, as well.

It’s so tedious. I hope this thread stays relatively free of it. They can gather on all the super interesting new or resurrected threads - Should Charles Abdicate?! Kate and the Middletons!, Support for the Monarchy Dwindling! Why Are H+M Hated in the UK?! etc etc 🥱

Some absolute nonsense being posted, and some nastiness too, directed at posters but also KC3 (“petulant, despicable”), Camilla (“terrified of him”), William (“indolent”) and Catherine (“a right bitch”).
H+M meanwhile are a well-meaning young couple doing their best to live a good life and be good parents.
