I see the thread went a bit sideways overnight!

It has been a long recognised feature of other boards that disruptors appear overnight when monitoring is reduced and America is awake.

Yes, it’s an unfortunate and tedious feature.

I find it interesting that, in the case of some posters, if you quote them, so presumably they get an email alerting them, there's a response that seems incredibly fast (judging by my slow typing).
If you just add their name and a quote - zilch.
It's almost like they're not actual people reading the thread and are something that responds super quickly to emails.
I try it out on what I think might be bots people who may not be posting in completely good faith.
It's surprising how often it happens as I've described.

I turned my email notifications off years ago! , it got too annoying, constant pings clogging up my inbox! 😬

350 attended. I'm surprised tbh

They probably attended because it is advantageous to them personally to be there and to be involved in Invictus as an organisation. It's unlikely to be because they like the idiot figurehead

Kirschcherries · Today 09:31

I am happy to be corrected, but I think of you write a book about living people publishers may give them an advanced copy so they can raise any inaccuracies etc. before the print run. It pre-empts potential legal action.

I think the well crafted statement by BP was written with knowledge of the full contents of the book and clearly dismissed the whole of CS’s book and all the allegations as not worth the paper it is printed on.

Must be a right PITA.
I've done it every now and then but, like the elephant's child, I'm full of " 'satiable curtiosity" 😀

I would point out too that I often do my "Name + quote" thing to people I'm positive are posting in good faith, either because I think they may be fed up with emails alering them to replies or if it's one of those massive posts that's tedious to see even part of again.

The claim Spencer made about the Queen and his father is the one (so far) that has done the damage. Every single comment about it on SM I've seen has said it's clearly not based in fact.

Anyone with a functioning brain can see how ridiculous that it. It has shot his credibility, and therefore the whole books credibility, to shreds.

That one is really really odd. Everyone knows that the late Queen met Philip in her midteens and was besotted from then on. To suggest she was attracted to Earl Spencer later is ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the boringly predictable accusations about Charles and another individual.

I’m on the app because I find it easier to read , however it does have quite a few limitations and lack of features, so I have mn open in a safari window, so I can see notifications at a glance, it also has the advantage of me only looking if I want to or ignore if not ! , could not read actual threads on there though…😱 pop ups adverts and this weird thing that you and posters mentioned..collapsing posts!!

I think it's the root of Charles Spencer's jealousy. Old Johnny Spencer probably claimed he could have been married to the Queen instead of the "bolter", Frances. Then young Spencer thought he ought to have been the next king, not Charles Windsor.

Yes Enty is really upping the ante.
I do take the blinds with a large pinch of salt but some have proved to have a grain of truth. I do still think that HaM are running away from something not to something.

The blind that has always blown me away was the one doing the rounds for years about staff on a photoshoot claiming Meghan helped herself to the clothes used in the photoshoot, , clothes then worn again for her TV series, and Meghan’s PR team basically admitting the clothes were taken, but claiming that’s ’normal practice’ on a photoshoot. I had totally dismissed that blind, thought it was utter rubbish, and then it was proven true, so it has made me look at blinds as possibly having some truth to them after all.

Very early on in their marriage, when I was still a supporter, I read a blind claiming that H&M were looking at properties in California. I thought, what nonsense! They're going to be working royals and live here!

I think some people on this thread should get cut down on fox news, or Facebook or whatever they are imbibing.

Given some thread police people have a go for comments about the wider royal family on this thread this conspiracy delulu is a bit much.

And as noted before attacks on Soros are usually anti-semitic and in this context completely doolally: he is in bed with Putin now I mean really!

It is interesting though that this poster uses an American TV channel as the supposed source of UK posters ‘misinformation’ about foreign interference in the UK, which rather undermines their point.

Hi @LaMarschallin What is the name & quote thing? Do you mean when we click ‘quote’ and we tag posters like I have here with you? Or something entirely different? Sorry if I appear somewhat thick 😅

I keep reading about 'blinds' where do I find them.

These threads are so good thanks for posting. I only started following the last 4 threads.
Lots of things written i didn't know about.

Marquee2go · Today 09:49

Delurking after spending the last week trying to catch up on the past 4 threads. Just wanted to say I appreciate all the knowledgeable posters and love the gifs, witty remarks and generally well balanced discussion. It seems there has been some attempt to throw the threads off track this week but please don't let that stop all you long running posters, there are probably hundreds of people like me reading along in agreement and occasionally laughing out loud at HAMs antics

Ummm ! , years ago there was blinds detailing Andrews affiliations and behaviour with Epstein! , I never take anything I read at face value without proof, however it would be silly to dismiss something either….i just file it away in my mind and if it comes out as true great and if not 🤷‍♀️

Hi @LaMarschallin What is the name & quote thing? Do you mean when we click ‘quote’ and we tag posters like I have here with you? Or something entirely different? Sorry if I appear somewhat thick 😅

Not at all.
It's just that sometimes, rather than just pressing "quote" if I want to reply to something, I highlight the poster's name (or sometimes leave it out, if I'm replying straight afterwards) and C&P the bit I want to reply to.
I found it annoying when people would quote a whole, long post and then just put "This!" or something.

Because of doing that, I have found that some slightly dubious (imo only) posters never seem to notice that approach, but react incredibly quickly to a "Quote" which sends an email to them, if they're signed up for notifications.

I hope I've explained myself?
Sorry if it's still a bit muddled.

That is interesting as I use a throwaway email for Mumsnet and never check it. I don’t look at notifications either and anyway need to be on my laptop to see them.

@jeffgoldblum (Jeffrey golden bum is how my head hears it 🍑 😅) Don’t be shooed off by a disrupter. You are well respected and as the creator of these threads an integral member of all things PR. ❤️.
