Oh dear ! Just read the comments! 99 percent are not very nice , I think Charles Spencer has misjudged the reception his revelations would receive…..

Good. What a twunt.

I find it strange that this has been leaked. How can they possible think that trying to smear a high Court Judge because he came to a reasonable conclusion over a weak case is a good look 🤔

Because he will do anything possible to bend reality to his will - if only he could channel such tenaciousness towards more positive things…

Is anyone going to take one for the team and buy a copy of SwanSong so that we don’t have to? I remember one particularly heroic mnetter who bought the book, actually read it and then précised it for us each day.
Volunteers please take one pace forward.

<rest of thread takes one step backwards, smartish> 😁

Oi!

I'm surprised by how unsupportive of the book comments are in several places. Maybe it's because after 30 years most are indifferent? It's not exactly Warc of the Wales part 2 regardless of how much some commentators want it to be.

Delurking to say I’ve just seen on LinkedIn reports that Harry’s team is puttting together a smear report on Justice Nicklin - as per The Telegraph - and consensus is that if true this reflects very poorly on Harry.

I’ll say! I was at a work event yesterday in the City and never before have I seen people in such consensus over a topic - everyone thinks they’re ridiculous and need to shut up and go away.

“The researcher behind the Duke of Sussex’s phone hacking claim is preparing a campaign to discredit the High Court judge who threw out the case, The Telegraph can reveal…”

Yes, the Telegraph report is here

Two ladies passed me by on the street just now. I have no idea who they were talking about when one spoke of a “narcissistic baggage”. Maybe she doesn’t like her DiL…. 🤷‍♀️

Come now, they aren't smearing the Judge, they are looking for proof of what Harry already knows, any Judge that rules against him is corrupt. There is no other explanation Harry will accept for the failure of the judiciary to accept that he is the biggest victim of the nefarious Mail to ever exist. Harry can't be wrong, it must be the Judge.

Yes. There is some colourful wildlife running amok over there 😬

Yes. A few very recognisable posters going over and over the same decades old stories.

Other than a few obsessives, does anyone really care about this stuff anymore? I guess the sales figures for Earl Spencer's book will give us some idea.

It's been quoted in multiple sources that she told "friends" that "Harry's been brainwashed". Can't be arsed to google but have definitely read it more than once.

Actually multiple people within the family and BP staff have suggested the same so not sure why Camilla is singled out.

It is also pretty obvious to most of us too that M “wears the trousers” as my nan would have said.

That isn’t to say that H is excused for his treachery at all, far from it, just that his is a weak mind and easy to manipulate plus she is more robust and has her own agenda which was never about her supposed love for him.

Its relentless. He's not happy unless he's causing stress for others. What an odious prick. I really hope Nicklin perhaps complains to King or whatever he can do 🙄

Yes Mrsleon! , I was actually very surprised at just how many negative comments there are…many calling him out for cashing in on his sister….hypocrisy because of his multiple marriages and behaviour…..mentions of similarities between him and ham!!! , I wasn’t expecting that!

Reminds me a bit of what Sophie C said happened to her and Sentebale after Harry didn’t get his own way there.

It's the passage of time isn't it. 30 years have passed, Charles has been a good Prince of Wales and a more popular King than many expected. William, also very popular, is on record wanting people to stop profiting from his mother. Hundreds of books and articles have been written about Diana, the novelty of her brother writing one isn't that powerful amongst so many. Whilst I'm sure the book will sell it won't have nearly the same impact than it would have done 20 or even 10 years ago.

This thread got me on a rabbit hole into the revelations PH shared in Spare (never read it). I had completely forgotten the fisticuffs incident ending in the dog bowl. Absolutely brilliant.

Yes you are very correct… the Diana mania has faded with time, I suppose my surprise was that these comments were in the telegraph! , I would have been less surprised had I read those in the dm! 🤷‍♀️

“The researcher behind the Duke of Sussex’s phone hacking claim is preparing a campaign to discredit the High Court judge who threw out the case, The Telegraph can reveal…”

Careful, Harry. The Intelligence Services probably have more on you than your researcher can possibly have on the judge.

And since the judiciary operate in the King's name, this is also an attack on the King, his father.

Is there no end to his stupidity? And isn't there anyone on his staff who will say 'no, I won't do that'? Don't these people have professional reputations to maintain?

11add1 · Yesterday 14:40

Agreed, Diana is old news. For most people under 40, and probably many over, her story holds little relevance now. I’d go as far as saying Charles and Camilla have little gossip value too. With the huge PR attacks on Catherine and her family from Team Sussex, it feels like any big potential drama around the Wales family has already been had and done. Especially as she had to battle cancer - I think we’re desensitised to all of the conjured up PR drama now.

AMW was probably the last big PR bomb, when he lost his titles. Most people seem happy with Charles, William and George, and there isn’t much appetite for a republic. We really do have much, much bigger fish to fry as a country and in the Western world.

The world has changed so much in the last 30 years that a book about Diana is really only good for one thing: Spencer’s pocket money. I do think Harry and Meghan have good rage-bait/click value. Not nice, but I suppose they fulfil the traditional role of the black sheep of the family / country. (Though, since we don’t actually deal with sheep much anymore, perhaps even that expression is a bit dated!)

There was even the Dutch lorry book robbery, version 2. It all just seems so tired now. Diana is in the past, she should be let to RIP. We have other, much more pressing problems to deal with as a society. It's very strange to be conjuring up the Diana Ghost. Very self indulgent of Charles Spencer, he should, as the saying goes, check his privilege.

Maybe. And maybe they have made peace with HAM and CS selling them out - or trying to - yet again. It's all you can do with nightmare relatives, otherwise they constantly affect your well being.

I don't think supporters of the RF have ever forgiven him for the eulogy he gave at Diana's funeral. The cheers from those outside were audible, but I'm not sure the sentiment was widely appreciated.

What do you mean, "supporters of the RF"?
They're not a hive mind. Then or now.
