Breaking news in the Daily Mail. Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children 'removed from school after two days' mol.im/a/16130877 via https://dailym.ai/android

I do wonder if there is actually any school that will be able to meet their expectations in regard to security. I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

I am trying to make sense of the amount of time and effort people (spurred on by the Daily Fail) put into finding fault with her. And of course I don’t have ‘evidence’ because what I’m saying is an hypothesis about the motivation behind such odd behaviour. Not fact. Which is why I used the term ‘smacks of’ rather than the word ‘is’.

Me thinks the lady doth protest too much!

So you threw out that very serious and insulting accusation based on no evidence? Nice.

Have you been living under a stone since 2018? Surely you must be aware of the history?? If not, Prof Google is your friend.

That's why people don't like HAM.

None so blind as those who will not see.

However, as a non-royalist, the mouth-foaming over these two baffles me 😁

Well done!
I've been wondering when someone was going to think of an alternative to "frothing". It's a really nice change.

(I don't think you need the "mouth-" bit though.
People get "frothing"; they'll get "foaming" too.)

People here are being absolutely ridiculous. The location and the physical setting of the school is very tricky to manage, and it’s not something they would necessarily have realised before experiencing it.

The Dragon School is world famous.
Its list of alumni fills who's who.

The school website has clear instructions about parking for school drop off

What is racist ??

I didn’t say it ‘was’ racist. I said it ‘smacks of racism’. Or envy. Because why else should people spend so much time and energy picking fault with someone who is nothing to do with them. It’s really odd. Who else in the public eye gets so much negative coverage in the Daily Fail?

AND the OP made it sound like they were being picky about or negative about the school. It was just security not factoring in school traffic. Every September I forget to leave early because I’ve become used to the summer commute time. It’s and easy mistake to make. It’s just the consequences are different for them.

In that case they are the definition of an incompetent security team, as that would be the very basics of what would be expected for a team to assess and manage.

So you were sitting on the train, when Prince Edward walked by, with absolutely no security detail, apart from the one person nearby, that clearly stood out as security??

I suppose the key difference between the aforementioned and the two kids is self-evident.. he's a farking adult and does not need ferrying to and fro, but perhaps needs protecting from some Daily Fail mouth-foamer 😄

Edited

No, I was sitting in the street, eating a sandwich…if that matters…

Are you ok? I’m not sure why my genuine experience has brought about such a seemingly angry response.

I don’t know what this means.

It’s not racism to criticise the behaviour of people, particularly as last time I checked Harry is white.

you might also want to consider that many of the posters here critical of the Sussex’s aren’t white either.

using racism to try and attack posters and shut down other’s opinions, no longer works, has been done to death and is the defence of someone who has no other credible argument to support them with.

I said it ‘smacks of’ racism.

It’s weird that people are so nasty about her. Really odd behaviour. Like trying to find fault to moan about even though it has zero impact on them. I understand nit picking with politicians because they impact our lives. But why MM. I mean I’m not a fan. I don’t know them (obvs) so don’t really have an opinion.

Do I think tax payers should fund their security? No. But I don’t think public funds should be used for anything for the Royals.

So I’m putting forward my theories about why someone without the full facts would start such a nasty thread and so many would pile on. One theory is racism. Another is envy. Feel free to explain your motives if you wish to out me right. But I sense I’ve hit a nerve.

It's not an easy mistake to make. If it's the school I think it is, any fool could have worked out what a nightmare the school run traffic would be. This is Oxford - a city which has recently introduced a congestion charge. The clue is in the name. It's an absolutely ridiculous mistake to make, either by them or by their security advisers. It would be difficult in a small car, but in some kind of pompous 3-vehicle convoy, forget it. They are living on another planet, it seems.

I'd love to hear why you think people would envy Meghan! I think she's up s* creek with no paddle, personally!

Can anyone link to the thread of the ‘Spare’ funnies? that was mentioned earlier?

mouth-foaming completes the mental comical picture

its unequivocal, whereas foaming may mislead some into thinking people are angrily running rampage covered in bubble-bath !

So supposedly their line of cars got cut into and separated the cars causing the supposed security risk 😏🙄 It's the school run , there will be lots of cars on the road parents all wanting to get their own kids safely to school. A convoy of cars makes this difficult for every other parent. Just put them in one car, it s a school run not a spectacle. Harry and Meghan assume their kids are more important than every other kids 😡 well they are not, every kids deserves to get to school safely without the convoy circus parade.

‘Imagine if they were carrying guns ! Harry would be. ‘shoot those fuckers tyres out, how dare they try to cut in on us” 😉😉

DaftBerkCanGoFHimself · Today 17:10

I was at the same event as Prince Harry years ago. He had subtle security and was knocking around just like anyone else. It’s different when you have a wife and kids to think about though and when there has been so much vitriol.

Treetopviews698 · Today 17:11

IcedPurple · Today 17:00

Well, maybe they should have put some thought into the move, especially when their children's security is supposedly at stake. Neither of them work and they had plenty of time and resources to arrange the move.

Did they really not think though the logistics of driving through the English countryside at rush hour, complete with 'convoy'? A lot of random people here could have warned them, but they, with all their resources, had no clue?

I wish people would make their minds up!

Either there is no risk at all to the dc or
M and H should have done their prep better!

Which is it to be?

It’s clear they can’t win whatever they do.

Phew! Thanks for mentioning 'vitriol'! I thought we might get to the end of the thread without it and that would never do!

As for having a 'wife and kids to think about', given that he apparently rushed them across the world on a moment's notice and didn't even bother to make proper arrangements for the school run, it seems he's not thinking about them very much.

There are kids at the Dragon School (and there were at Thomas') who face MUCH higher security risks than "a bit of vitriol"

They are pure attention seekers

It's clear that you didn't read my post, especially where I used the word 'supposedly'. According to them, they and their children are high profile targets who need armed police security. Therefore, not bothering to work out the school run is a major failing on their behalf, or on the 'security team' they have engaged.

As to whether there is a genuine threat, that's up to the experts at RAVEC to decide.

Horses7 · Today 17:15

Why would it be great?

I know more like a nightmare!

bluegreygreen · Today 17:15

Either there is no risk at all to the dc or
M and H should have done their prep better!

It can be both.

Lack of risk does not excuse a shoddy job by professionals.

If the security team worked for me and had prepared that poorly, they wouldn't work for me any longer.

If (as I suspect), the mess-up has been because H&M have not listened to advice (as appears frequently to be the case) and I were a member of the security team, I would be looking out for a new job.

Well what exactly do you mean by "it smacks of racism"? What's your evidence?

It’s not that hard to understand. Woman of colour marries into the Royal family, there is a family estrangement and the Daily Fail and the twatalites that read it focus in on the woman and work hard to find fault with her. Spending lots of time and energy on it. It’s really bizarre. So envy (beauty, wealth etc) or racism are the hypotheses that came to mind.

What are the motivations I’m missing? Why else might someone start a nasty thread about a mum with school run issues, without the full facts and then lots of people pile on with theories about it being some kind of manipulation. Really odd. I just don’t get it.
