Breaking news in the Daily Mail. Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children 'removed from school after two days' mol.im/a/16130877 via https://dailym.ai/android

I do wonder if there is actually any school that will be able to meet their expectations in regard to security. I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

Lack of security didn't kill his mother. Lack of a seat belt did.

Precisely. and a drunken driver of her car.Try telling him that!

I posted before reading the Mail article. Apparently the trip to school was vetoed by their security advisers as it was 'difficult'. The kids are now in another local school.

God knows why the advisers hadn't checked out the route beforehand - perhaps H&M neglected to tell them of their move?

Oh, well 🤷‍♀️

Unless their security team tried the school run in August when there is no school run traffic?

well he is 'unique' in the sense he's a prince!
He's obsessed with security on the basis that 'lack of it' killed his mother.

Edited

He’s not unique in that, though. Beatrice and Eugenie are princesses, and their children (the ones who are old enough) go to school with no security. James and Louise (Edward’s kids), who are prince and princess but choose to be known by other titles, went to school for fourteen years with no security and they were grandchildren of the monarch, in exactly the same position as A and L. Yet somehow Harry’s children are uniquely at risk…

That would be a bit dumb?

🤔
If they have a target on their backs it's purely because their parents publicise alls sorts of security and other details about them and alienate half the world with their erratic nonsense.

This thread is full of Sussex PR. It's as irritating as the H&M are.

No other royals have the tax payer funded security Harry is demanding but by distantly bringing this all up, they are increasing the risk to all royals and to all royal children in particular, as well as any children at the school they're attend. It's 100% selfish and destructive, It's a temper tantrum and they really mostly need protection from themselves.

I respectfully have a different viewpoint... We know that prince George is going to Eton. These kids are a target purely because they are royals. If they were not royal few would care.

These children are at much extra risk because of the media frenzy .I do not think people in the UK would threaten children because they do not like ordinary parents - it is because they are from a royal background..

That the parents are trying to get help tells me their parents care about them and are scared for their safety. I might think less of them if they did not try. I admire their quick reaction to updated secuirty advice. Being protective of our chidlren is natural.

I just wonder who is photographing them constantly on these idyllic days out.

The bizarre thing is that it feels like the Cambridge kids are having a more ‘normal’ life despite being higher profile and in direct line. By all accounts they were basically left alone when they were in Norfolk.

When Boris was PM or soon after, he was out at mini football with his kids (family member saw him there). Lots of high profile people
do just get on with it.

Lots of people do. Have you ever seen Keir Starmer's kids? Their lives have been kept totally private.

I wonder if paranoia about security, even reasonable paranoia, is the natural result of living a life where you deliberately thrust yourself into the spotlight more than necessary.

It’s the natural result of a lifetime of substance abuse ….. his twin fixations - the media and security are behavioural manifestations of his eroding MH and his paranoid obsessions.

I go with the idea this is all planned. They have disrupted their education on the basis it's not safe, when in fact it's just another way to try to get paid for security.

Maybe they even told their children they could try the school for 2 days and see how it went. Nothing would surprise me.

Ah, it's important to share private family moments with a professional photographer, and get the images published so that your children, your activities and your location can be identified.
Simple!

He is not unique. There are other royals.
Posters have explained about the death of Diana.
He wants limitless, high level security - paid for by the UK taxpayer.
That's his gripe.

StormGazing · Yesterday 08:09

As others have said this is just yet ANOTHER drama they’ve created to try and get what they want. They want to be seen, photographed and followed by a cavalcade of armed police to make them look like a ‘someone’ … yes 🥱🥱🥱hazmat was born a prince and they’re eleventy millionth in line to the throne 🥱🥱😴😴 but ffs other royal children manage to silently go to school and survive without armed guards.
i feel sorry for their kids, and the kids at any school these two grifting clowns decide to take their children to … the drama llamas will create chaos themselves to get their limelight by making shit up and whatsapping it to the papers.
Ill bet the MIGS/real royals / RAVEC WhatsApps are full of 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 today!!

so - all part of the plan?
Get a pro to take some shots, show some photos of the little darlings on Insta, help the press identify the location, 2 days later join the dots and say the school run is too risky for these dear children.

So obvious, so cynical, so dumb.

lack of secuirty did not factor into the death of Beatrice and Eugenie's mum. She is alive.

KC and W must despair at the fallout of H and M's return to the UK. I think W is accutely aware to the need to slim down the monarchy, cut costs and show value for money. Instead we see private planes provided by celebs and wealthy people for 'freedom flights', stays in grand houses (sometimes borrowed) in Canada, US and now the UK. We see money wasted and disruption to the children's schooling after just 2 days. There never seems to be a 'lets try and make this work' decision. It always seems to be the nuclear option of leaving.
If anything, it shows H is badly needing the advice and guidance of those men in grey suits.

Well, this is great, now all the squaddies are saying, “See, we knew the UK was a dangerous country.” The damage they’ve done to people’s image of Britain is terrible !

Yes as I said in a previous post, it’s Megxit 2.0. The only projects they have had that have been successful are the ones moaning about the UK culture, UK press and the royal family. They are manufacturing a situation where they can once again claim to be slighted and “fed to the wolves”. But everyone (even the squaddies, I suspect) can see they are creating the feeding frenzy wholly themselves and wholly unnecessarily.

You're absolutely right. It's creating yet another victimhood narrative.

If they really thought they and their kids were in danger then the easiest solution would have been to remove themselves from all social media before they moved here from California.
No press releases, no instagram, nothing.
Relocate and settle in quietly. Get the kids used to their new routine.

They have chosen to publish so much detail about their lives and the lives of their kids that they have to take at least some of the blame for their current situation.

I don't really know what they can do going forwards. It seems very unlikely that they would be willing to give up social media, so there will always be an element of enhanced security requirements.

🤷🏻‍♀️

I saw them quite recently locally to me, no one bats an eyelid. Of course there is discrete security around and if people try to take pics I understand they are asked quietly to refrain and allow them their privacy .

Plenty of royal children travel daily to school with no issues , including Prince Edward’s children, his daughter didn’t board until 16 , Princess Anne’s children and grandchildren and even the Andrew managed to get his children to school with little fuss, the Belgian heir spent 3 years at Oxford and the Spanish princesses and the Dutch were at school in Wales albeit boarding. There are many arguably higher kidnapping risks with the children of various oligarchs etc who manage this without a fuss.

All that said I do think it is ridiculous that Liz Truss gets security as a past PM and HAM don’t and on balance I think security should be provided if only to stop the drama .
