No idea why they keep announcing their private business and that of their dc. This is personal safety and security 101.

Did they accompany their dc to school, or too scared to get in the car? Did they sit at home, knowing their dc were off to a strange school, no US accents, all different and not think for a second they have nothing to do except support their dc. They dont even have to work.

There’s clearly something more complicated going on that we’re not aware of. Hard to say what’s truly unavoidable or impossible for the kind of people who live these unbelievably wealthy lives. Normally if they are determined to make something happen, it is made to happen for them.

I feel sorry for the kids whose needs like all kids will just be for as much stability as possible and a decent local school to go to. Especially right after moving continents.

So I hope that everything is ok. With the family’s financial means, they could move house if all it is, is the school journey is terrible? The Sussex announcement said they’d moved back to the UK for the kids for a UK education, so presumably that’s still their priority.

Having said all this, there are many children of politically exposed people (PEPs) in English schools, many Royal children, many children of billionaires and celebrities. If they can go to school, there's absolutely nothing that makes H&M's children more "at risk" than any of these other children. It's just another stupid publicity stunt.

I absolutely agree. I feel sorry for them. They either should have been kept away from the public eye or introduced properly. This filming them from behind feels intrusive.

Well, yeah. I encountered Princess Diana in the newsagent's. No burly geezers of any description present, just me, the shop lady and the princess. Other people also met her in normal places. I'm sure most members of today's royal family can be found doing everyday things in ordinary places with minimal or no personal guards.

Do you think Meghan and/or Harry have veered over the edge into pathologically obsessed with security? Or maybe they see it as symbolic of their importance. I dunno.

They don’t need armed security. The number of times when a gun has been pulled to protect a royal is negligible. What they need is competent security, and there are plenty of retired government security people able to offer just that. The King can’t intervene, it’s a government decision based on risk and available resources. He could pay for it if he wanted, he doesn’t want to and I don’t blame him.

Nobody cares about their DC enough for them to be a worthwhile target. Their proximity to the King is literally the only thing that makes them vulnerable. IMHO the best thing the King could do to protect their security is keep a very big distance from them.

I posted before reading the Mail article. Apparently the trip to school was vetoed by their security advisers as it was 'difficult'. The kids are now in another local school.

God knows why the advisers hadn't checked out the route beforehand - perhaps H&M neglected to tell them of their move?

I mean, they can afford someone to take the kids to school and sit, unobtrusively, outside all day if needed surely?
none of this makes any sense.
They Have actually provided loads of information about where they are living themselves via Instagram, (though I guess you’d be forgiven for thinking it was Scotland, not the Cotswolds, as I’m not sure anywhere in the Cotswolds descended to temperatures chilly enough to warrant a huge fire in recent weeks). By contrast you don’t see pictures of the Wales children out and about like this very often-just carefully curated, photo shoots on Kate’s birthday or whatever. She used to do the school run I believe when she was available. Did they not used to live fairly unobtrusively and uninterrupted in Norfolk-albeit with some security nearby. This is all the Sussexes need to do and it wouldn’t be hard to achieve if they wanted to. They have been sensible at least in not showing the kids faces-I’m sure very few people could pick them out of a line up.

Perhaps it would help if the press would stay out of it. Typical Mail.

Easy not to read about them or follow what they do if ye all find them do tiresome- it’s all of you creating the appetite in the papers for more stories! If you all didn’t follow them so much and create threads and comment then their family would just go about their daily business, no furore

I wish they would return to the US and take their dramas with them. No doubt we the taxpayers will end up funding round the clock security now just because they decided on a whim that their children needed an English education.
