The Union flag and a heart on every photo is nauseating!

Is that what they've done?
Oh well, now I really believe they love the UK - that must have taken a lot of effort.
🤮

I know the Cotswolds is slightly colder than where I live in Berkshire but how on earth have they got a roaring fire on? She’s such a nitwit. I would be sweating if I wore a jacket like she’s wearing on a dog walk at the moment. Of course this is the woman who walks up and down Kensington High Street with wellies and a wax jacket!

Usernameinabeyance · 13/09/2026 16:54

It's totally convinced me 🇬🇧♥️

It seems to be their thing.
When they took the Backgrid photographer to do their ludicrous faux wreath laying on Remembrance day many years ago Meg had a full winter coat on, despite it being a blazingly sunny California day.

Yes she's worn inappropriate clothes on many occasions.

Thedom · 13/09/2026 16:59

The luxury and privilege of it all, what a boastful video.

its a bit of ‘in your face, you racist Brits !”

Archie is heard saying, 'I got this' in a distinctly American accent as fish writhe around in the lake waters.

Interesting that in the People video I just watched, People is spinning it with "and appears to have picked up his dad’s British accent. “Go! Go!” the 7-year-old can be heard cheering, his pronunciation sounding distinctly British."

JaneJeffer · 13/09/2026 17:01

Sorry to barge in here but I’ve just seen that video and I thought it was so strange that when the deer ran across the road Lilibeth didn’t look back at her parents. Have the children been instructed to always look ahead so that their faces don’t appear? Anyway I’m sure someone will come along to tell me I’m weird and ask why do I care?, etc. Grin

It'll be the Wales children.
Who else is there?
Possibly L and J but they aren't WR.
Possibly the tindall kids who arent WR either.
Begs the question are the RF necessary in the 21st century?
I suspect W thinks not, and that is the reason flf hom closing the books for the dummy of Cornwall?

It would be an interesting departure, given the requirements to present the accounts to Parliament annually under the Duchy of Cornwall Management Act 1863.
They continue to be presented annually to the Public Accounts Committee.

The kids are dressed for the heat and there are strong shadows, I bet they were taken in the summer at Althorp. Who the hell has a log fire darn south in September? Are they clueless or just taking the piss. Its like they are living in a Richard Curtis film.

It looks a right mish mash, summer one day, winter the next. It surely must be put out for an American audience. She's portraying a "typical British autumn" with wellies, coats, fires etc, even though in mid September, despite the rain, it isn't cold and you don't need fires and warm coats.

I can just imagine what future posts are going to be, they'll be like Hallmark Christmas movies, bound to show snow even if we don't have any, lots of fires, probably throw a vintage route master bus in there along with an old red phone box.

IcedPurple · 13/09/2026 17:03

MrsLeonFarrell · 13/09/2026 16:17

Without wishing to sound distainful, the whole video is English stereotypes: lanes, fishing, wellies and all. A roaring fire is just part of what I assume is a post for her American market.

I was going to say the same. Kind of like that famous photo f,rom back when she was Harry's latest piece, clomping up and down Kensington High Street in wellies! As if anyone in London wears wellies unless they're cleaning out a lake or something!

And sitting by the fireside in early September? When it's still warm enough to go out in short sleeves? The Wham music also doesn't go with the video at all. Weird choice.

I also agree that anyone familiar with the location will be able to identify it straight away. Not what someone concerned about their security would do, but who's really surprised?

ReconciliationsMayVary · 13/09/2026 17:06

If it’s Northamptonshire is it Ginger Spice house they are renting? What was the story about that leak?

Hmmm… Deer running across the road?
I’m reminded of the random sighting of mother duck & chicks In Montecito… How cute!

I just don't buy this video. They're dressed for the winter and who lights a fire in September? It's not even cold! They look like they're on a private estate with fishing rights.

I wonder who filmed it? Clearly they were not alone - a security person? A nanny?

Very true 👑

I flounced yesterday and divested myself of all my obligations to the service of this thread.

I am however now back. I actually didn't flounce it was a misunderstanding.

I have always loved it, and with warmth and kindness, I add I have been surprised by the posts left in my absence and now seek to oust Jeff from their thread, claim it as my birth right based on my obvious talents, connections and personality as a public private individual citizen with a heart for universal service.

Or anyone UNfamiliar. I'm 5000 miles away and I already know where one of the locations is.

PS I notice that in the 'strolling a country lane' shot, it looks to me as if H is wearing sneakers, not Wellies. And I think Archie does have at least a touch of his dad's accent. He says "I goT it" pronouncing the 'T'. A true 'California kid' (like me) would slur the words got and it together; "I goddit".

Where Harry and Meghan are concerned, whenever I read "an insider" I imagine it is one of the two of them.

'Sources close to...'

I think the problem is that the removal of titles would need to be total. Letters patent supported by parliament can make him plain Harry Windsor. He would no longer be a Prince or a Duke. That way, his wife cant call herself either a Duchess or Princess and then their children are just plain Archie and Lily.
I agree with you. Its a straightforward thing so Charles just needs to get on with it.

If it requires action by parliament, then it's not that straightforward. The King can't just tell parliament what to do. Some might argue that parliament isn't there to sort out the King's family squabbles.

When does it cease to be a family affair, which is not a matter for parliament, and become a constitutional issue, on which the King must act on the advice of his Prime Minister, and what advice is the Prime Minister giving him (which we won't know, of course)?

It does seem so odd that the titles get conferred by the Monarch when children or grandchildren marry (I doubt Charles will get the opportunity unless he lives for a very long time and George marries very young), but HMTLQ dished out the Dukedoms and in Edward's case made him an Earl to all her children and to William and Harry. And yet having been gifted by the monarch they can only be removed by an act of parliament.

Still, there it is, it will not be so simple to remove the titles as many seem to think.

I suspect that going forward titles will either be for life or, and I believe this is more likely, they won't be handing out titles for George's generation.
