I wonder if their next move is "we want in"

Can you imagine?! But that would mean MM giving up the jam and edible flowers, rejecting any bit-part roles and having to wear tan tights again. I think she'd rather divorce him first.

AustenitesUnite · 11/09/2026 08:08

Absolutely!

But I can remember thinking, very naively of course, at the beginning of all this (just after the Sandringham summit IIRC) that they were seeking a quiet life

Just shows how wrong one can be sometimes, doesn't it . . . .

Oh, me too. I even defended them on here! I remember saying that they wanted a low key life, non royal and under the radar.
How wrong I was!

They do, they just want to be able to dictate the terms of their involvement.

I remember reading that Diana suggested the boys could share being king, which is an absolutely crazy thing to suggest if true. But it does make mean wonder if H still seems himself somehow as W equal and able to jump in when W becomes King?

That's strange because Diana was an absolute Royalist, wasn't she? She knew how it worked. Maybe she hoped for a role for Harry, but then he'd always have a role as a senior member of the RF.

apparently its all Williams fault and he is a truly dreadful person for starting an initiative for preventing suicide when he ignored his sister in law when she was suicidal despite him not being told (according to harry) that she was suicidal

Its also him jumping on harry and meghans bandwagon to start this initiative and isn't it funny how he does this as soon as they arrive in the UK (because he can clearly pull initiative out of his ass on command)

The comments are insane they are blaming William for everything he isnt her husband why is it his fault?

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 11/09/2026 08:19

@Passingthroughagain The Duchy of Cornwall has jam and every food you can think of! She needs a Sussex estate or two and off she goes!

Many refered to Lady Di for years. The french still do. It's how we are first introduced to them in the press.

Bit late to the party! It always makes me smile when I think about the French and “Lady Di”. They always pronounce it “La-Dee-Dee” 😆

Isn’t public figure a bit like national treasure, it’s not something you can choose to be or appointed as.

It just smacks of them thinking that just by existing they are more special than everyone else and deserve status. It’s arrogant.

No, a public figure is someone paid by the state in some form (eg tax-payer funded salary, income from a provided Duchy, civil
list) to carry out duties on behalf of the public

Oh my God, I hadn't heard this, but I've just looked it up and apparently her nickname for him was "Good King Harry"!

This explains so, so much. Diana put the ridiculous notion in Harry's head that he was equal to and as important as the heir to the throne and it's no wonder he is riven with jealousy of William now, and craves the bigger profile, the greater adoration. She created a monster.

Harry apparently suggested to William that they share The Duchy but W told him “ that’s not how it works”

Jeez, that thread is terrifying! Their supporters are rabid.

I do like the nicknames of Hazbeen and Megone used by someone who dared to criticise them though.

And I think QEII always had this in mind for PH too . . . she gave him a couple of roles in the Commonwealth (which was one of her most loved 'organisations') ~ I think he was Youth Ambassador for the Commonwealth and also had a role as President of one of the committees

He was also Captain General of the Royal Marines (taking over from his grandfather when PP retired, I think)

I'm sure there were a couple more military roles given to him as well

And, of course, he was made Duke of Sussex but I think his visit (I'm pretty sure there was just the one) was very fleeting. It's a big county, split into East & West, with lots of interesting things going on if he had care to get involved

These aren't small roles, he could have done so much with them, but he seems to have always wanted more. He never cottoned onto the idea that he had to prove his worth before being promoted to other roles like everyone else does!

The Commonwealth roles ( M was also given one) were a huge honour as was the National Theatre patronage given to Meghan .

At this point I do not think they would be allowed back in after what they have done..they will never be trusted again as part of the firm.

Beautifully expressed. Yes, it really was an honour to be given those specific roles by the Queen and the Sussexes were the only ones not to see it as such, apparently . . . .

You're right, as a couple they had the most amazing opportunities. Most people could only dream of such roles in life.

He and his wife are experiencing the FO phase of FAFO.They were expecting to be welcomed back with open arms into the family and slot back into being working royals and get the security that they wont shut up about...they were expecting the family to want to meet their kids and for there to be rabid press interest in them. They were expecting to revitalise their tenuous connection to royalty to allow their merching and their grifting to continue.

Instead they have arrived to frozen tumbleweeds. No contact from the family. No invites for tea. Zero acknowledgement of their return. Just icy silence. Within days they have been very firmly put in their place by a directive from the palace and it has been made clear that they are now private citizens and not to be treated as royalty. No taxpayer funded security. No half in and half out. No merching off their former status.

None of the family will apparently speak to or meet them or want to meet their kids ( I am paraphrasing from Neil Sean ) They were supposedly expecting to have photos taken with the King and their children that they wanted to leak on social media but the King was sharp enough to refuse to allow them to do this.

Nobody wants to be seen with them or be seen to endorse them. Richard Branson was very keen to slap down any suggestion that he would attend Harrys next grifting attempt. Ingriftus looks to be in serious trouble and none of the RF will attend.

Their return to the UK looks dead in the water. They have comprehensively burned their bridges here. This supposed extended stay in tne UK wont last 5 minutes.

That's it in a nutshell

Undoubtedly. Hideous grifters. Not a shred of humility or decency in either of them. Their conduct that we aware of has been reprehensible so I shudder to think what else they have been doing that we dont know about

stripeyduck · 11/09/2026 08:44

Didn’t he say that he was on drugs until 2020 something? Maybe his decision going on Oprah and writing all that crap in his book was under influence, and now that he can see more clearly he is starting to regret some of his actions?

Sorry to disagree with you but I'm not convinced of this . . . (that he's starting to regret his actions, I mean)

As with anything to do with the Fussexes, time will tell and I've a strong feeling we're going to see something happen sooner rather than later

I agree. He could have had a great life as the Spare. Just doing the interesting things. Not having to cut a ribbon at a community centre in Luton, but garden parties (even though they thought they were boring), Trooping the Colour etc.

But even when he was doing that he still managed to put his and wife’s grifting first.

In 2019 there was the 30th-anniversary commemorative event for the 11 Royal Marines musicians killed in the 1989 Deal barracks bombing, however Harry, as Captain General of the Royal Marines, decided that he and Meghan attend the Lion King premiere in London instead. Where if I remember right he tried to get her a job.

Fucking grifter. Military don’t forget those kind of insults.
