Thanks to those who linked the “I love you bro” clip, really made me smile!

These threads move so fast, so I won’t be posting, will just enjoy reading as and when I can. I think I’m still in “my brain can still not fathom out what the heck they’re doing back here” mode.

Over the last few years, any time I read or see something that has originated from them, I always think god, I didn’t think they could get any worse! And then it always makes me think of a cartoon/mock photo that was posted on one of the threads I was on when Spare was released. It depicted Harry on the phone, speaking to hotel reception, and was along the lines of:

Harry: I’d like a wake-up call please
Reception: certainly Sir, everyone thinks you’re a cunt

Apologies for the language, but that pops in my mind every time I see their next screw-up.

😂😂😂

drivinmecrazy · 12/09/2026 16:02

It’s the children I feel for.
if they have grown up with armed guards on the school run I’d imagine, though hope not, that they’ll feel vulnerable.
particularly if they over hear their parents banging on about threats to their lives.
I can’t imagine H&M have these conversations in hushed voices or away from the children.
I get the impression that they’re far too explosive for that.
I hope the children are growing up in a calm home but can’t really see it unless they have adults around them who see the craziness and protect them from it.
maybe William should put out a comment about ensuring that his nephew and niece have the right people around them

Allegedly, she thought the garden party was boring as well which is supposed to be why they left early. It wouldn’t surprise me. She has no real interest in finding out about anything or anybody. Another example is when that poor lady was telling her about the death of her baby and she just turned away. She has no curiosity hence she is bored and if it isn’t all about her, she doesn’t want to know. I would say Harry is similar

Was the baby death one at BP - there was one I remember.

IIRC It was some sort of of reception at BP when they were working royals - indoors (might have been veterans could have been disability groups, might have been something else). Meghan is introduced to an older woman in a wheelchair and doesn't look too happy about it - especially as Harry drifts on to speak to someone else. Meghan flashes her usual insincere smile, and the woman starts to speak (I think about her daughter) but Meghan just walks off when the woman was mid-sentence, attaches herself to Harry and starts the rubbing/tapping his back thing that seems to mean she is bored and wants him to hurry up so they can get out of there.

It struck me at the time
-Meghan was really rude to people that she didn't consider worthy of her time
-she had poor acting skills that she couldn't manage to feign interest for an hour or so
-she couldn't bear Harry speaking to people without her
-she wanted to get out ASAP

And it seems to be the way they have arranged their "charity work" since they left
-quick meet and greets but no real conversations - it was clear in Australia that Meghan stepped in, looked for the camera and then on to the next person
-lots of "in conversations" where they are asked pre-arranged questions but nothing unscripted - little audience participation
-lectures rather than dialogue
-only their pre-approved photographers and journalists - edited photos
-awards ceremonies but with them getting awards rather than giving them

... everything is stage managed and choreographed!

Shared from X :- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle no longer feel they’re beholden to uphold the values of Queen Elizabeth, which were beautifully summarised by Lord Nolan in 1995; essentially the rules of public life in Britain. However, the Sussexes are now claiming that despite their thirst to be public figures, they will refuse to uphold these principles, which are as follows:

  1. Selflessness
Holders of public office should act solely in terms of the public interest.
  2. Integrity
Holders of public office must avoid placing themselves under any obligation to people or organisations that might try inappropriately to influence them in their work. They should not act or take decisions in order to gain financial or other material benefits for themselves, their family, or their friends. They must declare and resolve any interests and relationships.
  3. Objectivity
Holders of public office must act and take decisions impartially, fairly and on merit, using the best evidence and without discrimination or bias.
  4. Accountability
Holders of public office are accountable to the public for their decisions and actions and must submit themselves to the scrutiny necessary to ensure this.
  5. Openness
Holders of public office should act and take decisions in an open and transparent manner. Information should not be withheld from the public unless there are clear and lawful reasons for so doing.
  6. Honesty
Holders of public office should be truthful.
  7. Leadership
Holders of public office should exhibit these principles in their own behaviour and treat others with respect. They should actively promote and robustly support the principles and challenge poor behaviour wherever it occurs.

I @TheRealHousewifefor one haven't seen these before. Apologies if they are common knowledge.

Yes, TheRealHousewife, the Noaln rules are very appropriate here

I'd also offer the late Tony Benn's "5 vital questions for democracy", which remain as valid as they ever were. I was privileged to know him personally, and while we had some right humdingers over politics, he remained one of the most principled men I've ever met

What power have you got?
Where did you get it from?
In whose interests do you exercise it?
To whom are you accountable?
And how can we get rid of you?

BasiliskStare · 12/09/2026 16:13

Do you know ( not that I am a Public Figure so my opinion is worth naught , unlike other private citizens 😂) I've said before as Napoleon said , do not interrupt your enemies when they are making a mistake. I have used the tank analogy as I think @DaisyDooley has , the WRF will keep going , slowly but surely & H&M are like little boys throwing conkers and firecrackers at it - full of sound and fury and signifying nothing.

At current course and speed I think H&M ( not that I think they realise it ) will be an amusing historical footnote. Thus far they are of way less constitutional importance than Edward and Mrs Simpson - they just live in an age with a freer press and the internet.

I also think in time , the Middletons ( whilst they have had their fair share of criticism - but to one side for a moment ) will be noted for introducing "normal family life" into the direct line of the heir.

So the Brouhaha is amusing but thus far ( especially since the Lord Chamberlain's clarification ) I'm not sure what H&M are ( apart from an irritant to H's family ) which has any real significance. Now , I do think H would be wise to keep his trap shut and I do think IG needs some scrutiny , but in the long term H&M are a side show. (I enjoy it at times I'll admit that ) but I don't see them causing ructions to the extent that the OW interview did at the time.

One opinion , others are available 😊

Its all staged there is no humanity Queen Elizabeth once dropped in on someone's wedding they had been invited too this was not the wedding of someone they knew it was a stranger a normal couple who invited them and got an unexpected royal visit (the invite was declined but they popped in anyway briefly) that is how to do things king Charles joined people for a pint at a pub they both chat to people on walks acting bored and entitled is not a great look

I think the baby death one was in Africa when meeting with women who'd lost children to AIDS. Meghan slide onto the floor to play with some babies who were far more photogenic than the adult woman pouring her heart out. Sad

Not the poster you asked but the baby death was in SA and she is horrible in the footage, just didn't care at all.

I remember reading an account on reddit supposedly from a coworker of the woman in the wheelchair (who was an exceptional employee) and how M didn't acknowledge her and was very rude.

Another example is the footage of ham going into a military awards ceremony and H was taking 5-10 seconds to saying hi to award recipients and she couldn't drag him away fast enough. A well dressed lady complimented M and she said thanks but didn't return the compliment.

I'm sure M isn't the only narcissist around but the others know how to gave basic manners.

Gotback · 12/09/2026 16:35

In the recent Australia fauxlanthropy display, as they were entering the hospital, she is reported to have said to an aide "Let's make this quick." She couldn't care less.

I remember seeing the video of the one with the lady in the wheelchair, Meghan walked off as the woman was in mid sentence about her daughter. That video has been scrubbed from the internet, cannot find it anymore. Same with the one of Meghan’s disinterest in the lady whose baby died, practically impossible to find it anymore with a google search, although it is saved on some forums.

Charles was 26 years off being Duke of Lancaster.
His mother had to loan him money to pay Diana the £17 million.
Harry might not have that much money -but his family does.
And if his family want the children to be raised here and for Meghan to keep all the videos and diaries to herself they will need to tip up a large 8 figure sum IMHO.
It depends just how much dirt she’s got on Harry,
The RF have had enough mud slinging in the last decade -what would they prefer? Slightly less money in the coffers and a semblance of peace -or all out war with MM?
I know which I would choose.

I meant Duchy of Cornwall.

Seblance, od peace? I don't believe MM could ever be bought off. She'd agree to the terms, take the money, then spend it circumventing the agreement.

My daughter is a teacher of early years, and I asked her yesterday if anyone had mentioned about teaching about Invictus to the children. Firstly she said no never heard of it, then when I explained she said it would be more appropriate for older children, under the British history and values type of teaching.
Is it definite that it's being added into the curriculum?

It'd be reasonable, on the basis of HAM's ability so far to stick to an agreement, to assume Meghan wouldn't stick to one agreed in a divorce payoff either. She'd be dropping all sorts of hints or outright info and thinking 'if they don't like it, they'll have to take me to court, and I don't think they'll do it so hey ho!' Therefore the RF may as well go with 'publish and be dammed' as a pp said (sorry, forgot who mentioned it!) and forgo paying out anything.

I remember reading after The Flounce that the Middletons had invited Meghan to tea or something and she declined as she thought they were boring .

I don't believe she avoided Carole simply because she found her boring.

I reckon it was because Meghan had dishonourable intentions from the very beginning and knew she would never pass Carole’s fierce scrutiny. Carol is known to be protective and does not tolerate people who exploit or disrespect her family. Meghan's ego couldn't handle being around such a genuinely devoted, supportive, and hands on mother as her own mom abandoned her when she was a child.

I'd love to see Carol hosting MM for an hour for "tea".

KittyKokum · 12/09/2026 17:09

This is not the clip of M ignoring the woman in a wheelchair in S.A., but it shows that M has form for disregarding the feelings of others and stepping in to do what she feels is best for her, or the situation.

Totally agree with others - Meghan seems to have no interest in anyone but herself. And she sure knows how to find a camera in any given situation. She gives off zero authenticity.

I think when Harry is in public he often displays signs of being in 'fight or flight' mode - this may be because of his military background, or genuine security concerns, but it is also often associated with neurodiversity too. Harry acts in public like my ND family member - appears outwardly friendly and confident, but when the focus is off them looks uncertain, not sure what's going on, and on concerned about doing soemthing that will be perceived as 'weird' or 'wrong'. I'd say Harry is often 'masking' whatever his real feelings are, and it's probably an exhausting state to be in.

That sort of behaviour is also seen in people who do drugs.
