I'll imagine their Duke and Duchess titles are going to go if be carries on pretending his a "public figure" and posting his schedules betc.

I watched Palace Confidential last night.

Rebecca English was commenting on the general response to the Sussex clapback:
People I have spoken to were like: "This is the directive of a head of state. Not the head of a family, the head of a state. Why should these two private individuals feel that they have any bearing on what he says?"

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales was back at the Marsden today, looking at plans for the holistic care centre that she was helping to raise money for. A low key, unannounced visit, almost certainly because of security issues.

The last Diana Awards ceremony was in late 2024 and it was virtual (Harry presented). I don't think they have "gala event" type award ceremonies or even live ceremonies.

Sorry for the multiple posts. Rural area shoddy signal.

I feel your pain having just come back from my mother's house 💐

Not my Prince - he's a private individual , as am I , and simply bears the honorific "Prince" because he is KC's son. He does not speak or carry out engagements on behalf of the Monarch nor the Government.

(Oh memo to self - be a bit more lighthearted in the spirit of things )

Not my Prince - He's an entitled spoilt little twunt.

(Not sure I've nailed it there either 😂)

I assume this Royal Rota he tried to send his engagements to (is there a source for that BTW) is the same one he grudgingly went to the back of the aeroplane when he and M were doing their S.A tour , and said to them they hadn't been invited. At the time he was undertaking a visit on behalf of HLMTQ - of course they were fucking invited. I believe his rudeness was noted with some astonishment at the time.

The difference between BP & the Sussexes is that BP are chess players.

They have decades, if not centuries or experience, so will have strategies worked out. They have PR experts WHO THEY LISTEN TO. They take everything into consideration and make their moves in a timely, considered and coordinated way

Difficult for them to know exactly what games PH might start playing next, but it's definitely not chess. He's not even capable of playing tiddlywinks . . .

M’s social media has been very quiet.

And hasn't there been a shortage of the usual "H loves me so baldly"-type announcements recently?

Correct me if I'm wrong (I don't actually follow her social media, and most of my info about HAM's doings comes from these threads). But, in the past, M seems to have felt that the world needed constant reminders of how much they were in love, how happy they were together, and particularly of how much H loved her. So much so, that the recent absence of these romantic bulletins (even on her birthday?) feels rather pointed.

I can't help thinking that you would need a certain cooling-off period between announcing how ecstatically in love you are, and announcing that you're going to be living on different continents and dating different people . Perhaps this silence is a bit of a lull before a storm.

He sent a list of his ‘public’ engagements to the royal rota - seriously?!?!
I’m cringing myself inside out!

That same royal rota thar M refused to let have a pic of Archie because they called him " the N word", as claimed in The Cut interview.

I guess trust with their own royal rota (that WhatsApp group of reporters they used to keep apprised of things) has broken down.

Ian wace is a billionaire hedge fund mngr! Information is the most important thing in that business like Epstein, knowing something a day or just 5 hours before the rest of the world equals millions. Knowing when to buy and sell is gambling unless you have excellent information sources.

Well he's not going to be getting that into from H&M, is he. No-one with half a brain cell would trust them with sensitive information. It's more likely to be the reverse - them spilling info about Ian Wace's affairs that he would prefer to keep private.

I did read that a while ago he bought an island off the west coast of Scotland. Maybe, failing the Tower, H&M could be sent there.

On, oh I don't know, thread number 32 or 33, a pp whose name I've forgotten put forward a fascinating hypothesis. With H & M, she said that one could have reasonably expected each to enter the marriage with certain pockets of knowledge - one in the area of show business/entertainment, and the other in the area of the BRF. Instead of informing each other, as would normally happen in a couple, they "infected each other with their ignorance".

I really liked that theory.

I apologise if the pp recognises herself and I did her an injustice in this summing up.

Yes indeed, I can well imagine Harry hazsplaining the concept of celebrity to Meg, and Meg megsplaining royalty to Harry, and them both getting mutually frothed about how very progressive they are not needing anyone to advise them on matters of constitutional law, parliamentary history, international relations and legal absolutes because after all, representing the Head of State is all about the cash, baby. And yes, the Yorks have been a bloody disgrace in encouraging the Sussex grift to grow along with the viler stuff.

I'm disappointed in the senior people in the HoS's offices and the government machine who haven't stopped this sooner. Anyway, now's their chance. Remove titles, throw penis-squiggler in back of an ambulance.

Didn't People magazine (and other celeb magazines) used to publish an annual poll for the most unpopular/hated celebrities in America, and wasn't the winner very often Meghan Markle, closely followed by Prince Hazbeen? What changed I wonder?

People magazine doesn't do that (it's too full of arse-licking puff pieces to risk that kind of offence), but other outlets publish stuff like that yes. And MM is frequently top of the chart! I can't think why ... Grin

@jeffgoldblum

Once again the 8 hr time difference has made me late to the party, but thank you for the new thread. 💋

Meanwhile, pondering the state of them from a US West Coast point of view.

It's really interesting to me that they were accepted here with pretty much open arms and how in just a short time they've managed to alienate the movers and shakers in 'The Industry'. A lot of these are people whose faces one wouldn't recognize and whose names aren't 'household'. But by God, they run the 'business end' of the show and their partners/spouses run Hollywood 'society'! People tremble before the wives/partners! They also didn't realize that you must be accepted by those movers and shakers and partners/spouses to even get near a real A-List person. And that once you're there you have to work really hard to be accepted, even on the 'fringe'.

Their whole modus operandi here has been "Don't you know who we are? Don't you just love us?" right up until they boarded the jet for the UK Yes, the movers, shakers, spouses/partners, and A-List knew exactly 'who they were' and did not 'just love them'.

Now it seems they're using somewhat the same tactics in the UK. And it's not working there, either.

I think M is keeping her head well below the parapet. She's not completely stupid and if she wants to forge a life on her own at some point she doesn't want pictures and posts that tie her in too much with H. She wants 'plausible deniability'.

You are very welcome always across ❤️ , I do like to hear the opinions and views from our posters from the us and other countries, it really helps to see how it comes across with everyone.

Radar Online, hmm....

I find it hard to believe that the Diana Award had even intended to have a gala dinner. It's a bit low key for that kind of thing. I also find it difficult to believe that William would nix it (he doesn't even run it so it's not his decision) just because Harry was going to appear when they've always "presented" on alternative years.

Don't the Diana Award have online award announcements anyway? That seems to be what they've done in the past.

Edit for typos.

Edited

They have several events during the year.

The last one they held this year was in early summer, and William attended that one, hence why it was due to be Harry's turn to attend this one.

The award ceremony is only one of the events held by the Diana Award charity.

The story is the one initially broken by Charlotte Griffiths, who confirmed a day or two ago (I think the video was linked here) that the event had been cancelled. She speculated why that might have been, but said that she had not been able to confirm why independently, and was planning to do so.
I haven't seen an update from her.

How does things like this even come up in a conversation..!? Oi Ian, we want to move back to the UK, you wouldn’t mind paying for it, would you? I’ll text you my details.

How do they get other people to pay for them? And what’s in it for them!?

"Hi, Harry. Ian here. Hilary gave me your number. She and Ted speak highly of you. We've got a little project going that we could really use some assistance with. Trying to make the world a safer place for children by banning internet access to undesirables. We need someone smart and intelligent with a high international profile. You'd ha e to relocate temporarily at leaxt. But we'd provide food and lodgings and cover the school fees."

What about a security detail named HAVOC

We get some retired army sarg who's gotten bored of the allotment and two RAF cadets (or scouts, whatevers at hand, any uniform will do) who could do with work experience and some of those Bluetooth headsets that celeb bodyguards have.

Sell it to Hazza as special security just for HaM and the Hamlets, and job done. They feel "safe" (I.e. like they've won) so they stop moaning* and the RF/actual security forces don't have the mither of trying to keep pandering to missives from the Markles.

*Moaning about this, at least.

I think the Early Learning Centre nee-naws might give the game away.

I’m cringing myself inside out!

But was it published? I find this incredibly tin-eared and also just petulant and rather pathetic. The King was very clear in his letter that the terms of the Sandringham Summit still stand, so is this Hazbeen's idea of a clap back? That whatever the King says, he will continue with his campaign to be seen as a working royal again and he'll pursue that agenda regardless?

It's just all a bit desperate. He left, he and Meghan got on 'the freedom flight', because everything here was just so awful for them. But the RF and the country has moved on and we neither want nor need him any more. His vicious attacks on his family and his bitter, whiny, entitled attitude regarding security that he expects us, the British taxpayers, to stump up for have permanently soured the relationship. He's no longer the cheeky young prince or the little boy walking behind his DM's coffin. He's an entitled jerk with a sharp-elbowed and narcissistic wife and we don't like or want either of them! The sooner she pisses off back to California and he goes off to live a quiet life in the shires, the better.
