No, People Magazine are Harry’s mouthpiece.

People magazine is everyone's mouthpiece. It's like Hello or OK Magazine here. Full of celeb twaddle, a good portion of it placed by their publicists to get a certain message out. My MIL loves People magazine and is a big fan of HaM 🙄

No, a public figure is someone paid by the state in some form (eg tax-payer funded salary, income from a provided Duchy, civil
list) to carry out duties on behalf of the public

Not according to the dictionary definition of public figure.

I think the military connection is important to him because it's his only selling point.

I'm pretty sure he would have had structure in his life growing up and when at Eton. With two young children, he must have some structure to his days. He could have had so many opportunities to do so many good things in his life, but he blew it.

They both did - I think originally (the early days) the vast majority of the population thought MM was going to be great for the RF - just think what they could have done in many areas including the Commonwealth (which HMTLQ wanted then to take on) …… I can hardly believe how they both managed to throw it all away with such a high level of bitterness and hate. They’ll reap what they sow!

In my opinion it’s looking more and more like the surprise relocation is to enable Meghan to get Harry closer to the royals at least geographically and then Meghan will play the victim being hounded out of the country again by a mean family and racist public. She will try to take the Sarah Ferguson route to continued fame and fortune. although will no doubt try to get as much money from KCs funds for a divorce settlement first. Time is of the essence as a KW would not give her anything from his funds.

So a post divorce book looms. She must have learnt a lot from Harry publishing Spare about advances and global syndication - getting her name all over the press now will really help with making her book a hot read. A joint Netflix doc on the move back, a doc on the 30th anniversary of Diana will fill the marital coffers. And then potentially a spin off on her post separation life in the US and her own post divorce book will fill her own coffers. She can max the financial gain hard in the next two years and then see what opportunities await. The kids are her ongoing link to the British monarchy and Americans are still somewhat fascinated by upper class British life. There will be some opportunities.

I think you're attributing far too much foresight and planning to Meghan. It's clear from their antics these past 7 years that neither thinks more than one step ahead. If that. Everything is done on impulse. The original Grand Flounce was, and so is this.

I also disagree that there Meghan would be able to monetise her 'royal links' even after a potential divorce. Firstly because I don't think Americans are fascinated by the royals in the way they used to be. Secondly, with the Wales kids growing up fast, frankly there's no real interest in the Sussex children. A post divorce 'tell all' might be a money spinner, but I'd imagine any divorce settlement would come with a watertight NDA. But we are getting ahead of ourselves!

Question to those on here more knowledgeable than I about the IG.
Does our military send any of our serving members to these games?
I was wondering if yes, how would that aline with KC statement.

Thank you all for your knowledge wit and stories off HAM throughly enjoying reading them all.

Looking at the Invictus website, there seems to have been a UK team for each of the Games.

From the Vancouver Games site, The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 were held from February 8-16 and featured 534 Invictus Games competitors – wounded, injured and sick serving members and Veterans from 23 Nations
so serving members are part of the teams.

Members join Invictus as individuals for community support, help with rehab etc (these are ongoing activities separate to Games), so the team would not be 'sent' by the military.

I just don’t understand how two people (not just one) can be so deluded and dense.

Yes I’m sure they egg each other on and actually are both bad for each other, but you really would think at their ages they would possess a modicum of sense and wisdom between them.

This move back was never going to work without acceptance of the huge betrayal and hurt they’ve caused. Even then with mass apologies it’s a tall ask to want people to move on from all that’s been said and written and forge a future way forward. They still haven’t learnt a thing.

Even the most savvy PR professionals in the world would have trouble now positioning them in a good light. They’re just toxic and they wouldn’t listen and follow advice anyway. The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

The best Meghan could do is use this marriage to manoeuvre her way into a better one. However she’s not Diana, she’s getting older, she’s already broken the royal connection so that’s been messed up.
They've also broken the relationships they would have had with the super rich they had at one point.

It's actually spelt "artiste"

‘Artist’ is more commonly used modern English.

I’d thought that too. She’s stopped posting. I had assumed settling kids into new schools / moving house.

The curriculum stuff is fascinating. I think they're hoping teachers will pick it as the integrated topic for the term; rather than Vikings, or China. A bit like when a local attraction starts emphasising how it's linked (eg) WWII because they know it's on the curriculum at various points and so schools can visit with a purpose. But EYFS through to 18 - wow!

Not sure they want people learning maths by interrogating their accounts though!

You obviously know more about this than I. However , it does not surprise me that a couple who folded the Archewell Foundation , to grandiosely announce it's reincarnation as Archewell Philanthropies with a fraction of the money , to support HAM and Hamlets' global philanthropy , would try and take on the whole National Curriculum. 😂. Catherine has made Early Years learning her thing , Camilla has Literacy as one of hers. Might it have been better for H to have a more focussed area and see how it goes? I'm unclear what it actually means though , so who knows. I still can't get my mind round what Travelyst actually does in any real demonstrable way so maybe I am the wrong person to ask 😊

The best Meghan could do is use this marriage to manoeuvre her way into a better one.

What better marriage could there be? Leaving aside H and his dubious qualities, she had wealth, influence, publicity, the potential to develop her (alleged) humanitarian interests on a global stage....

Where would she look for a new husband? And what potential new husband would want to take on all the baggage that would come with her?

JSMill · 11/09/2026 14:28

I’m wondering if the Invictus schools thing is a one off thing to be used in school assemblies. I have known charities to do that. For example, our head decided to use one produced by the Dogs Trust charity about how to approach dogs as there was a lot of parents bringing their lockdown dogs to the school gates. However we rarely do something like that as the curriculum is rammed with things you actually have to teach.

bluegreygreen · 11/09/2026 14:29

Agree, @BasiliskStare - wanting to 'clarify' an official directive from the Head of State feels very like 'collaborating with the Queen'!

tarheelbaby · 11/09/2026 14:32

And how HAM has played the blinder!

Now that Harry's announced his 'September Schedule', it's all clear to me: He's planning to carry on like a 'working royal' until KC and PW give in and take him back in an effort to control him.
PH (and MM is she's in tow) going to all these events will make them/him a de facto working royal and will make RF's insistence that PH is NOT a working royal look ridiculous because, in fact, he will be working and doing exactly the same 'work' as the 'working royals'.

jeffgoldblum · 11/09/2026 14:32

Sorry all ! , and welcome again everyone 👋 , the back to school routine on top of me still feeling tired from recovering has rendered me very tired, I went for a nap this morning and woke up not long ago! 😱 , I’m also very sorry @bluegreygreen, I did spend ages scrolling through to find the quote or article that you requested and couldn’t find it! , I know I read it but I can’t find it now!

With the news earlier this week that AMW has a new lady friend, it appears that some people ignore all the information that's available to them about a person's previous character etc

I wonder if they need help with the national curriculum?

Maths. If Harold applies 8 hour cream at 8 am, what time will he need a top up?

Also maths. If Invictus Games cost 130k per athlete to stage, but the athletes have to pay their own way, how much did Meghan’s outfits cost?

English. Critical analysis of sources. To what extent is the Lord Chamberlain’s statement an absolute bollocking? use other sources to support your answer. Mumsnet PR disasters thread 253 may be used for guidance.

Geography. A) How long has Portugal been part of the Cotswolds? B) what year did Christopher Columbus discover Soho House?

History. What happened when Edward and Wallis thought they could have their cake and eat it?

Food and Nutrition. Make a dish. Any dish. Just don’t serve it with flower sprinkles.
