People genuinely worried about their security do not announce where they are going to be. But Harry is probably now emailing the Home Secretary and RAVEC that his risk has increased because his future whereabouts are known. I hope someone from the Met / local police / MI5 is giving him a lecture on how to not increase his own risk. It clearly needs spelling out to him.

Will you have a big (half) fluffy ginger head on the cover, for the sensory bit?

Most definitely!!!

But the illustrator is having problems with my latest page ~

That's not my prince ~ he's applying cream to his crown jewels

sorry I am confused by the phrase institution that fired them ! In what way were they fired ? They removed themselves and were delighted to do so at the time .
Or am I misunderstanding the comment ?

Recillections may vary.

As did their narrative at the time, so I don't blame you for thinking they chise to leave when they clearly stated at the time that they wanted to carve out a progressive new role within the institution and continue to collaborate with the Queen.

She fired them.

BasiliskStare · 11/09/2026 13:11

Well I am back from visiting my mother but even with my trusty Big Puter , as opposed to my mother's computer which operates relatively at the speed of one of those old , beautifully shaped and decorated treadle Singer sewing machines ) I still can't keep up with the speed of the threads ( thank you @jeffgoldblum & @BigWillyLittleTodger btw 💐) . So my apologies if I am repeating what's already been said.

You can't fault H&M for the catholic ( with a small C ) nature of their clapbacks . One minute it's Martha Stewart , the next it's the Lord Chamberlain. 😂 Why on earth do they think they should be briefed on a BP announcement clarifying what's already been said, so they can add their comments. Bit like "collaborating with HLMTQ " I suppose.

If it were me and I were genuinely worried about my security , I wouldn't be announcing my itinerary in advance. But I think as others have said , he has reasons for wanting the bells and whistles and blue lights.

The Invictus early years program I would like to know more detail on. Am I right in that it said it was curriculum aligned , not going to be part of the curriculum. If it is to do with the military ( & I don't know ) in the early years , children have enough to do learning about Mott and Bailey Castles , Key Stage 5 possibly different. I think H hinted at a commercial venture with Veterans a few weeks ago in the US. Maybe he is trying to set up supplementary learning material written by veterans for STEM and all the other subjects mentioned, but available to be bought privately. Again I don't know , but I would flabbergasted if Invictus are going to alter the National Curriculum.

One more quick thing , thank you @bluegreygreen for writing out HMTLQ's statement with the gaps in. I think it makes clear what she was saying in that format.

With a big shiny fleshy coloured satin bit in the middle🤔

JSMill · 11/09/2026 13:16

@BasiliskStarethe whole idea that H thought he should have had the opportunity to clarify some points in the letter blows my mind but you are right, it’s like the ‘collaborating’ with the Queen and ‘service is universal’ statement.

She did indeed. And declined their offer to freelance for the firm.

That’s not my prince - he slapped the lifeguard’s bottom.

Grrrpredictivetex · 11/09/2026 13:22

This is a quote from one of the many articles in Heat magazine:
"She had hoped that there would be some sort of positive public acknowledgement from Harry’s family, and there’s been nothing, which is quite hurtful because a good word from any one of them could no doubt do a lot to silence their critics,’ the insider says".
I just can't get over the degree to which they seem not to understand the consequences of their words and actions.

is this like how they called of the SS when they started and continue with the vitriol against the Wales? Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Thing about Invictus, with all genuine respect to injured service people, it is a relatively small event for a small group of people. Harry doesn't actually do any organising or anything any of us would recognise as work. There were very few non family member spectators at the last one.
It is a worthy cause and I'm sure a very enjoyable few days of sport, but it is not a major sporting event. Add in the murky finances, the complexities around IDF involvement and the awful posing of Meghan and it is looking like a lost cause. It is all Harry has and he has built his identity around it. I don't see how it can sustain him.

I’m guessing the government’s announcement of sanctions against Israel and Israel’s retaliatory closure of the British consulate in Jerusalem will have scuppered the inclusion of the IDF in the Birmingham Invictus.

Unless they decide to do the opposite and turn up to thumb their noses at the British government.

Either way best the (Working) Royals steer well clear.

Doggydoctor · 11/09/2026 13:26

Question to those on here more knowledgeable than I about the IG.
Does our military send any of our serving members to these games?
I was wondering if yes, how would that aline with KC statement.

Thank you all for your knowledge wit and stories off HAM throughly enjoying reading them all.

young couple??🤪
They are both in their 40’s!

It’s hilarious, isn’t it? I thought, with the passing years, that comment had died a dignified death, but there was someone on here a few days ago scolding pps for “attacking a young father”.

These people live in a parallel universe!

In my opinion it’s looking more and more like the surprise relocation is to enable Meghan to get Harry closer to the royals at least geographically and then Meghan will play the victim being hounded out of the country again by a mean family and racist public. She will try to take the Sarah Ferguson route to continued fame and fortune. although will no doubt try to get as much money from KCs funds for a divorce settlement first. Time is of the essence as a KW would not give her anything from his funds.

So a post divorce book looms. She must have learnt a lot from Harry publishing Spare about advances and global syndication - getting her name all over the press now will really help with making her book a hot read. A joint Netflix doc on the move back, a doc on the 30th anniversary of Diana will fill the marital coffers. And then potentially a spin off on her post separation life in the US and her own post divorce book will fill her own coffers. She can max the financial gain hard in the next two years and then see what opportunities await. The kids are her ongoing link to the British monarchy and Americans are still somewhat fascinated by upper class British life. There will be some opportunities.

I agree but I would imagine any big payout from Charles would have NDA strings attached.

i wouldn’t put anything past Meghan, though. She will do horrible Things but manage somehow to cast herself as the victim.

cheezncrackers · 11/09/2026 13:39

Remarkably, it seems to have escaped the Sussexes’ critical thinking that they have no official agency in a country where the King does not need to run a sovereign statement past them nor their office for approval. Kids, this is a monarchy – not a mid-market company flogging flower sprinkles and overpriced sparkling wine to gullible shoppers.

Haha! Jan Moir's piece in the DM today is very amusing.

One thing seems clear, there has been a lot of planning going on behind the scenes, which suggests the move back here has been planned for some time.

Of course it has! You don't find the right school for your kids in two weeks. That process takes months. I bet when they visited in July they also looked at schools, because they were here for much longer than was reported at the time. The press reported that Meghan and the kids would fly in/out on the same day to meet the king, because of Harry's paranoia about security, but they were here for several days staying with Charles Spencer at Althorp.

The Commonwealth roles ( M was also given one) were a huge honour as was the National Theatre patronage given to Meghan .

I'd forgotten about the National Theatre patronage. That seems like such a cringe now - a total mis-match of substance / style.

Tablefor4 · 11/09/2026 13:42

The curriculum stuff is fascinating. I think they're hoping teachers will pick it as the integrated topic for the term; rather than Vikings, or China. A bit like when a local attraction starts emphasising how it's linked (eg) WWII because they know it's on the curriculum at various points and so schools can visit with a purpose. But EYFS through to 18 - wow!

Not sure they want people learning maths by interrogating their accounts though!

I know we're not meant to advertise on MN, but please will you forgive me for mentioning that I'm writing a book?

It's entitled "That's not my prince"

I only have two pages so far ~

That's not my prince . . . his engagements aren't listed in the Court Circular

That's not my prince . . . his style of HRH is in abeyance

I'm still working on it and I'm sure, as events unfold, I'll end up with sufficient pages for a whole book (or two, or three)

That's not my prince . . . he doesn't have a palace.

How do you know what domestic staff they have? Almost everything about them is speculation. No one knows whereabouts they are living even. There's speculation, but zero facts (unless I've missed something?).

No, it's based on an interview she gave with The Cut magazine.
She's spoken about nannies previously.

Laughable

This just popped up on my instagram feed. When Harry signed his name on that board the other day people were saying it looked like a penis.
‘ It appears to be a sylised H followed by a P shaped loop. Why does it matter? Because the use of P in this context is traditionally associated with the POW.
W used the format publicly for the first time during the Accession Council ceremony at St James’s Palace on 10th September 2022, when he signed the proclamation documents as William P.’
Spiteful little ginger prick! If you want to check it out it’s from an account wales_reign. I’m afraid my tech support is at work……

So.... she thinks the interviews, the book, the Netflix series and the endless nasty leaking by them meant...the RF would welcome them back with trust and love?
Good grief.

Harry has rather loftily released his "September engagements" diary to the Telegraph. He's got an Invictus spin-off event at a school and then the WellChild event he was already down to do. After the letter and his pissy response, he'll probably find his engagements for the coming months are equally sparse. No charity that relies on public goodwill for donations is going to risk the backlash of being associated with him post-letter, and it's quite staggering he can't see that.

Hasn't Richard Branson distanced himself as well now?

Edited to add: it does further demonstrate their "act now, think later" mentality. If they'd planned this return properly, instead of doing it on the hoof, he'd have lined up more events. Which makes me think they must've been triggered by something to rush back, and not just the looming start of a new school term.

Edited

I was hoping someone would pick up on his engagement diary. If you take away the engagements for charities he had before they left there’s not very much, if anything, representing the last 6 years.

It wouldn’t surprise me if some charities are trying to think of ways to dump Harry .
