do we still have to go along with the pretendy BetterUp and Travelyst “jobs”?

I thought he and Better Up had parted ways ?

I appreciate the clarification from you both about the supposed "summit".
Haven't had a response to any of my other questions in that post or who was being referred to by the late Queen or whoever was in charge at that point (my italics).

The Overlords.

I didn't see any itinerary, Jeff, but Google AI definitely said 8 September which is why I wondered if there was a mistake somewhere

And no need to be apologetic, @AustenitesUnite; it also said that past events have been held in the autumn (usually September) so I'd have thought there'd have been something by now

Perhaps it did happen on the 8th.
Perhaps Harry attended and said....

(drum roll...)

"No publicity please, I insist! it's not about me after all, is it?"

So that's why we haven't seen any publicity?

Sorry (not sorry 🤭)

I think you could be right.

Much as I believe H and M have behaved terribly and only have themselves to blame, I really feel for their two young children that are going to be forever caught up in their parents’ selfish actions.

I think they'll be fine. Beatrice and Eugenie have done very well for themselves. Parents Andrew and Fergie and B and E aren't working royals.

Baital · 10/09/2026 16:55

KilkennyCats · 10/09/2026 16:35

So why is it so bad that as a private individual Harry also wants to do charity work and earn money on the side too?
Maybe because he wants to use the charity work as a means of `’earning” (ha!) money, and not to benefit the charity? He has a long and distasteful reputation of milking any organisation he’s involved with dry, whilst conferring no actual benefit whatsoever.

Generally the charity decides on the publicity, whether it is private, publicised in advance, or photos released afterwards to maintain control of the images.

I don't think Zara has a 'Chief of Staff' announcing her engagements. They are agreed privately and the charity controls the publicity according to their preferences.

I don’t know - they may seem to be doing okay but now we know just how often they were exposed to Epstein and that seedy underworld who knows what they’ve seen or experienced. Or what they consider normal.

He's still on the website as Chief Impact Officer. A rather bizarre photo too

Sorry for quick derail but can I second that Mike Tindall appears to be a lovely chap.

He stood in recently for a local rugby team. My son was playing and text me and said did I know who he was, as apparently he’s famous, played for England or something!

I was 🙀

My son got a picture with him when they were all drinking in a pub post match. He was (apparently) very friendly and down to earth and happily posed for pictures.

HollyhocksandPeons · 10/09/2026 16:29

Sorry, not what I meant. I meant this is not going to end well for the BRF, I think, unfortunately.

Don’t worry yourself, they will be fine.

In your dreams, Lifestooshort Grin

And I've no idea what the current arrangement is, @Mylovelygreendress, but his (massively photoshopped) image was definitely on the Better up website as at last week

Edited to say sorry, @Starryfifty - another cross post

Baital · 10/09/2026 17:02

And yes, Zara has name recognition beyond that of most three day events, no matter how successful. That isn't to dismiss her very real achievements, just to say it isn't a sport with mass popularity.

And it's a double edged sword - you are also the target of photographers who are there hoping the see QE2's grand daughter fall off, preferably in the water. Your mistakes are more visible as well.

I think abusers are very good at differentiating between who is vulnerable and who is protected. That's why they get away with it for so long.

And why so many people can't square their experience if the 'nice' person with the way they treat their victims.

I don't think B or E were ever in any danger, and probably never had any questionable interaction with Epstein. Because they weren't disposable in the way his victims were.

Yes, very good points. They hone in on those who have no status and protection.

I think the £8 million referred to was the original money allocated to Invictus (?) in which case whatever happened to it should have appeared in the accounts long before now, but it's probably disappeared under the redactions

It was discussed earlier that, as Patron, Harry bears little financial or legal responsibility, but Lord Allen as Chair certainly does
I don't know much about him though ... who IS this guy, and is he someone from whom probity would normally be expected?

No - the $8 million I am referring to is the capital they had left in the Archewell Foundation when they closed/reorganised

wordler · 10/09/2026 17:19

They are such exhausting chaos agents.

So all up until June this year we had Harry briefing the press saying the UK was much to dangerous to bring Meghan and the kids for a visit.

Then through June we heard that Harry would be coming to the UK for engagements and would be visiting his father - followed by all the will the rest of the family be able to visit safely.

Then July 10th we find out that it was indeed possible for them all to pop in and out of Highgrove safely without being seen.

Then the week following that Harry's team brief the press that Harry would be making frequent visits to the UK over the coming year.

Then suddenly just a month later 'surprise!' we are all moving to the Cotswolds so the children can go to school here.

But it might just be for a year.

But it might be for longer for the kids schooling.

But Meghan might be popping back the US for business reasons now and then.

No, we didn't tell the King about this plan at our meeting last month, but we did tell him four days before we told the press.

Sources close to the Sussexes tell the press how thrilled the couple are to be back and how they've basically got the HIHO plan they always wanted. And that they are definitely getting their security back.

Which presumably prompted confused queries to BP from Lord Lieutenants around the country about what support they'd be expected to provide to these 'royals' when they rock up in their county.

King clarifies.

Sussex team clap back with their surprise and upset they weren't allowed to add info to the King's letter.

Cue Sussex insiders briefing -

We are public figures not just private citizens

We are upset no one seems happy to have us home

Beyonce was just in London why didn't see call Meghan - very upsetting none of our friends have rallied round

Maybe it was a mistake to make this move

Actually we are really happy to be back and are concentrating on family and getting settled in.

They've only been back in the country for two weeks!

I’m not on insta - but I think I read somewhere it is still there - just that you have to look for it (maybe not on the first page?).

It does look like a todge though. Yuck.

It’s definitely been removed from the studios Instagram page. It’s available elsewhere, but the links to the Insta page on Tower Bridge studios page indicate the post has been removed from their page.

As someone who works with children, the video that annoyed me most when Harry was back in the UK visiting his charities last year, was the one where he was 'play fighting' with balloon swords with a child in a wheelchair.

Harry stood in a proper fencing stance so that the girl had no chance of hitting him, and laughed as he hit her with the balloon sword.
Most adults I know would have allowed the child the opportunity to hit them several times, and 'win' any game.

Edited

Most adults would, yes.
