Why don’t you start a thread about this?

why on earth would anyone include H in Ukraine charity gig? Such a terrible look for any organisation

He’s probably just bought a ticket alongside the rest of the guests, rather than having been specifically invited. By the tone of that pisstaking article, the other guests feel the same way.

Back to Invictus: I’ve done a bit of research. It appears that the local Invictus Birmingham Board (led by chair Gosling & CEO Helliwell) is answerable to the main Invictus Board of Trustees chaired by Lord Allen of Kensington. The main Invictus organisation grants the local organisation a legal entity licence to operate.

Charles Lamb Allen is a Labour Party peer, and is a capitalist big hitter. His business instincts, looking at his record, have always been to grow, expand, force connections and agreements, and increase turnover.

It looks like this has been the wrong model for Invictus and its wider landscape. Endless expansion is not sustainable. Allen as Chair has failed to give net longterm benefit to veterans, failed to be a careful political caretaker, failed to rein in PR liability Harry, and failed to understand the significance of the rapid shift of the public’s attention from TV/MSM to social media including YouTube.

Thank you, @AutumnCrowWithdrawsMajestically - I've been doing a bit of googling myself and see that he's also said to run a tight ship and to be keen on controlling costs

Not at Invictus he isn't, which makes me wonder how long it'll be until they're looking for another Chair too

In thee meantime I'm stuck at Rome airport and it looks as if they're going too cancel today's flight too, in addition to the one two days ago ... nightmare Shock

3,000 police?! Shock

That's absolutely absurd isn't it?

Absolutely agree! In which case, why did the RF not allow the same for Harry? Could it be he was too close to the throne and it would show up what all the rest of them were doing?

Surely this is just marketability? Zara and Mike have both been world class at their chosen sports/careers, they have genuine things to talk about. Harry … not so much.

binkie163 · Today 14:20

Thedom · Today 13:47

Nor does she have a Royal title. She certainly doesn’t go on faux Royal tours to dangerous and corrupt countries, have we ever seen Zara in a situation like this? It’s naive and biased to claim Harry is being hard done by in comparison to Zara.

The Daily Mail detailed the securityH&M had in Colombia

  • 1 police Black Hawk helicopter
  • 1 drone
  • 1 police anti-terrorist / nuclear / bio terror van
  • 1 ambulance
  • Ballistic briefcases, ie Kevlar bullet-proof shields
  • Estimated 3,000 police
  • Military checks of the venue beforehand
  • Roadblocks

And I wonder what they expect in return for all that, no such thing as a free lunch, especially in corrupt countries.

That is a very good question. There are people and regimes only too happy to take advantage of greedy, foolish and arrogant people like Harry.

A LOT of these leaks now

We can only hope, starryfifty, and I really don't know where the earlier "what's so bad about Harry wanting to make his own money/engage with charity" came from

After all isn't that exactly what the Freedom Flight was about... except neither have proved capable of making any sustained money, and anything they touch charity-wise turns to sh1t

Yes, I agree with that.

Zara = Olympic equestrian anecdotes, lots of laughter
Mike Tindall - rugby World Cup anecdotes, lots of laughter
Harry - ‘what we owe the world is accountability drone drone drone and my mother would be so proud of me me me me’ and my wife my wife my wife my wife’ <sound of hundreds of execs heading to the toilet>

But we'll all realise when the reflection in the door shows a smiling M as she films it.

M won't be filming anything, there will just happen to be a full Netflix crew, or whoever. on hand to film the event from all angles, immortalising his trauma for posterity.

Puzzledandpissedoff · Today 14:33

Plans for a reduction were indicated by Financial Secretary to the Treasury Lord Livermore. "The government is committed to bringing forward legislation to reset the grant to a lower level from 2027-28 once Buckingham Palace reservicing works are completed," he told the House of Lords in March

Above from the BBC piece about reductions to the Sovereign Grant, which in light of the appalling system of Monarch's Consent I'll believe when I see it

And surely the obvious link to Harry is that, should it go through, they may not be able to afford him any more Grin

Persistent high levels of cortisol ( often known as the stress hormone) is known to increase cancer risk both in initial tumour growth and ongoing development.

I absolutely believe Harry has played a part in damaging KC and Catherine’s health.

I have stage 4 cancer myself and this is to me is the very worst aspect of H&M’s behaviour.

They have cared not a jot for father/fil or their sister in law.

H&M demand enormous sympathy for the supposed slights and reported effect on their “mental health” but actual fucking this will kill you cancer in their family members is clearly far less important.

Ditto M’s poor father having his leg amputated.

If M lies sobbing on the floor about whatever crap she claims happened how would she react if faced with genuine catastrophes?

But KC, Catherine and her father are all meaningless to her.

In fact I see no evidence either of them cares at all for anyone except themselves and, to a degree, their children as off shoots of themselves.

The hypocrisy of visiting hospitals whilst persecuting and/or ignoring family members suffering from very serious ill health is off the scale.

Then, worst of all, H had the disgusting, scum like, sub human shamelessness and cruelty to speculate on tv about how long KC has left to live.

I was so, so angry when I watched him wailing about his cunting security using his father’s illness as emotional blackmail in that pathetic “interview” that I almost threw my crutch at the telly.

I would be utterly distraught if anybody I knew was publicly speculating on my imminent demise, let alone with the added twist of using my oncoming death as leverage to get what they want.

If I believed in such concepts I would hope there is a special place in hell for him purely on this count and if I was KC I would certainly cut him out of my will.

Far from any thought of reconciliation, if I was William or Camilla I would happily buy the biggest dog bowl I could find and smack it into his mangy and pouchy face for hurting my loved one.

Can you tell this touches a nerve?!

Good thing I don’t live in the Cotswolds because I certainly would not be polite if I bumped into either of them in Waitrose.

I agree 100% with this post.

(I'm sorry about your diagnosis and hope you have plenty of support. It's sad that so many of us on here seem to have been dealt the cancer card 😒💐💐)

Not sure about briging him back, the security services etc have ways of accidentally losing people, permanently.

I've been assuming that after each games cycle the 'charity' for that particular games is wound up, but haven't actually looked.
Is that not the case? Does it continue as a separate entity?

I agree that Lord Allen (and the rest of the trustees) should have kept a much tighter watch on their patron, and should have been careful to ensure that everything was very clearly above board when questions started to be asked.

The problem now is that there are so many queries about Harry's behaviour around charities that they are running to catch up, even if it turns out that everything is in order.

I seriously doubt he will have bought a ticket, he would probably expect not only a freebie but also generous expenses for him and his current wife, if she decides to honour the event with her regal presence.
