He might if KC was making it impossible to rewrite for future generations – i.e. if any of his kids wanted to live abroad.

Not possible!

edit to add ! Apologies passing, I didn’t mean that to sound abrupt, I have a headache and there is a very good reason why this would not be possible.

🙄 I’m going to call him Chris shit from now on!

What I don’t understand is why H thinks he should have been consulted about the letter 🤷‍♀️

StrawberryWasp · 09/09/2026 20:05

HAM obviously believe doing what they want without permission is a very clever strategy that outmanoevers the RF. You can imagine their discussions 'we'll just go ahead and do it, they can't stop us, and once it's a reality they'll have to accept it.'

We're so clever. And brave.

This was obviously what they thought with their 'freedom flight' and setting up Sussex Royal. They thought once we're free we can do whatever we like. They can't stop us.

And they obviously thought the same with this move back: 'we'll just do it, we won't discuss it, and we'll hit the ground running with our charity work, it'll all catch them off guard and they'll have to go along with it once they realise how clever we are.'

It may be a strategy that sometimes works in some situations, but they are so dim to think they can corner an ancient institution into going along with their plans.

H doesn't seem to realise the decisions are not about how much his grandmother or father love him, it's about protocol, constitution and institution protection.

They are such dimwits.

And why did HAM think it had been "rushed out"?

Dontevenlookatme · 09/09/2026 20:08

Remind me, how much notice and opportunity to discuss terms was the Queen given of the Sussexes’ “collaboration” statement?

Lunde · 09/09/2026 20:09

So did these 2 numpties think that if they rocked back up in the UK all would be forgiven and they would be welcomed back into the fold as if nothing happened over the last 6 years. As if they had not deeply hurt the RF?

Apparently that's exactly what they expected

I have just seen video on FB which goes into a few elaborate details not known before to me.

Do not know if true but very extensive detail if untrue. The gist -
H+M have had problem registering DC at school because there is some difficulty with Harry's name on DC birth cert as parent. An inconsistency how he called himself.
KC has drawn up a some new regulation regards royal Trusts stating any member of RF that has lived outside GB for 5 years cannot have any claim on royal assets ie money/property etc This is why H=M came back to uk so suddenly but they have been away more than 5 years.
All the royal tiaras are now property of the state - implying M cannot have any.
It also said W had been told very late about these changes being signed at Sandringham and he helicoptered there to try to stop it but was barred from contacting Charles while actually signing. (C was on third floor)
Apparently he wanted document/s to say future monarchs could change these new arrangements - but was not allowed to discuss with C before he signed..

@tara66

I don't know about Archie's but I seem to recall some sort of kerfuffle about the Harry's name regarding the registration of Lili's BC.

Quick google and Ah, yes...."On the California birth document, his first name is listed as "The Duke of Sussex" and his last name is listed as "His Royal Highness"". I'm sure that did cause quite a bit of consternation at the registrar-recorder's office, what with us Americans not being used to, you know, 'dealing with royalty'.

California rules require the mother's 'name at her birth' (maiden name) so La Markle would be shown on Lili's BC as Rachel Meghan Markle. I bet that one stung. Probably why they insisted that Harry's title be used. Gotta get that royal connection in there somehow!

Lunde · 09/09/2026 20:12

Spaniels4Eva · 09/09/2026 18:32

It is kind of odd though that in two weeks, Harry has been seen once and Meghan/kids not seen at all. Not even on social media.

I thought Meghan was spotted at Soho Farmhouse last weekend?

Mylovelygreendress · 09/09/2026 20:04

What I don’t understand is why H thinks he should have been consulted about the letter 🤷‍♀️

Perhaps because Harry thinks he's much more important than he actually is and that he's got a lot to offer?

Remember he claimed the "Sandringham Summit" was a stitch-up too. They wanted something, the Queen said no, and it instantly became "they never intended to discuss it and had already decided"

They had every right to do this however, and not being able to cope with it is his own issue and nobody else's

PrivateCitizenUgandanAffairs · 09/09/2026 20:15

Got a lot to catch up on so sorry if it’s already been discussed.
Can someone remind me - is Nigeria meant to taking part in the next games? That was why they did the faux royal tour there wasn’t it? I wonder if they will follow Uganda’s lead. They didn’t realise they were getting private citizens rather than a senior member of the royal family on that visit. Plus Meghan dressed inappropriately which was commented on by one of the female politicians (can’t remember who, sorry).
They might think again how they have been disabused as to the importance of that Prince and the princess who was 43% Nigerian.

We asked Invictus Games and Prince Harry’s office if the Ugandan decision was linked to this week’s Lord Chamberlain letter about the Sussexes.
Sussex source told @itvnews: "Intended or unintended, this is clearly a consequence of the Lord Chamberlain’s guidance regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that was rushed out without consultation on Monday.
“Sadly, the only people who will suffer are the Invictus Games competitors.”

Rushed out without consultation??! It wasn’t a joint endeavour. Harry had no business inserting himself into it, it has nothing to do with how the monarch tells his representatives to operate!
Harry really has no clue at all. He’s arrogant AND ignorant AND out of options AND on a mission AND married to a woman who won’t hear “no”. This is NOT going to end well.

StrawberryWasp · 09/09/2026 20:20

They must talk about and strategise their relationships with their families endlessly. It must be obsessive rumination, and a terrible way to live.

It's so mentally unhealthy to have not moved on and to have nothing else in their lives beyond obsessively dissecting family history and relationships and planning how to get one over on them to 'win'.

At least KC and PW&C have other things going on in their busy lives, and HaM are an ongoing thorn in the side rather than the centre of their lives.

I've had family drama in the past where we've fallen into repeatedly rehearsing what happened, who said what and strengthening our belief we were right. But after a couple of months we realised: this is taking up too much of our time and energy, we need to move on and accept how things now are.

Loads of people have that experience. Painful family relationships, and you have to find a way not to allow them to dominate your life.

HAM seem to be missing this healthy self protection mechanism and instead unhealthily ruminate, and try to win over their families.

It's a very very very bad way to live.
Disastrous for children.
Mentally exhausting.
And creating and nursing never ending cycles of pain for yourself. And others.

I'm back after an emotional day watching King Harald's funeral

Each Norwegian monarch chooses a motto. The new King, Haakon, has chosen the same motto as his late father & grandfather "All for Norway"

I presume H's motto is "All for Me" . . . .

Scuttlebug on Twitter (X) has itbtgat H wss ringing round his military connections, trying to get a regiment to appoint him to an honorary role (e.g. Captain of the Royal Marines) that would give him standing at military ceremonies. And that this had something to do with The Slapdown Letter.

Interesting that the Ugandan chap is raising similar concerns.

PH will struggle to be Captain General of the Royal Marines, seeing as the King is the current holder of the rôle.

Still can't keep up and haven't RTFT but not so very shocked at reports mad Harold is getting in ever more people's faces with his self-centred demands.

I really would like to have been a fly on the wall to see the real reaction to the politely worded 'surprise' at being designated 'private citizens'.

My money's on it being a biblical scale masterclass in wailing and gnashing of teeth 😂

A lot of those details don't make sense when scrutinised
-Birth certificate - fairly sure the child could be registered at school in time to start and the paperwork sorted out later
-Trust regulation - how on earth would someone making a FB video know anything about this? It would be the King and his lawyers
-Tiaras - a useful addition for engagement for a video - but not really news. Most of the court jewellery (such as tiaras) is not considered personal property
-Signature of document at Sandringham - KC3 has been at Balmoral for a month
-A future monarch will be able to change arrangements where necessary

Sorry but that’s just utter rubbish.
The trusts which are drawn up are drawn up by the monarchs legal team and leave money in trust for their non dire 5 line children & grandchildren. The6 will be water tight. Ergo the vast majority of the monarchs wealth goes directly to the next monarch avoiding IHT.
This is well known. We don’t see the monarchs will but we know that the Duchy of Lancaster passes without break to the next monarch and the bulk of any investments does, as does the property privately owned ( Sandringham & Balmoral) plus art works, jewellry and their ‘chattles’. Individual bequests may be made -like the 3 strand pearl necklace Princess Anne now wears - but on the whole the none direct children & their offspring receive their full inheritance before the death of the parent/grandparent
The ‘Royal Tiaras ( as well as the rest of the huge jewellry collection which is the largest in the world) belong utterly to the monarch. It is all private property which the monarch can break up, sell, throw in the Thames or pass onto their heir. Meghan could not have anything from that collection without the permission and consent of the owner, in the same way that she couldn’t come to my house and take any of my jewellry.
William helicoptered to Sandringham? Why would he do that? The King is at Balmoral/Birkhall with the Queen on his annual summer break. “Charles was on the third floor??”” Are you really saying the King left Balmoral to go to Sandringham so he could hide on the third floor from his angry son???
There is nothing (with regards to Harry( that will be done without William and Charles discussing it first. The King may be a gentle man but he is not a fool.
He knows his legacy is the Crown passing impeded to William and he is not going to make things difficult for his beloved first born son.

Honestly, I see these ridiculous things on Facebook/twitter(X) and I laugh at them wondering who would write such rubbish and who on earth would believe it. And, future monarchs can change any letters patent .

Passingthroughagain · 09/09/2026 20:31

I just re-read their original Megxit statement and their thinking was so blindingly clear from day one.

After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.

WITHIN this institution. They honestly thought, and still think, they can ignore the Crown's clear boundaries about no half measures. How truly arrogant they must be to think their plans hold more value than centuries of constitutional procedure.

No, it's the King's guidance, it was clearly carefully worded and not rushed, and there was no need for consultation.
