Hopefully the change in solicitors means SC is less likely to settle

As someone who knows nothing about it, I'm just wondering if it means the original firm advised against continuing.

It's all about status. I genuinely don't believe he is afraid of being attacked etc. If he was worried about his or his family's security, he wouldn't be knocking on random doors in London half cut. He wouldn't leak to the press about his family, plans, etc but he does

Trouble is, for about 35 years, till 2020 and Megxit, H has never, ever had to be responsible for or think about his own security or personal safety - or, indeed, PR. It's always been someone else's job, and he was able to behave pretty much as he pleased, so long as he got his WRF jobs done. He lived in guarded accommodation, he had PPOs.

He's outraged at the idea that he bears any personal responsibility for his or his family's safety or reputation, and that he might need to modify his behaviour (eg STFU, not wander round Fulham ringing random doorbells, not accuse John Travolta of trading off Diana's legacy) in any way whatsoever.

I meant to post this on the previous thread regarding Meghan's attention seeking "march" at the Düsseldorf IG.

Much of the narrative focussed on the inappropriate march. However I think that her flashing the military/invited guests while climbing in/sitting in the buggy in such as skimpy outfit 😮But it certainly grabbed the headlines as nobody remembers the veterans 🙄

This was just so inappropriate. However, we will see the same crap again in Birmingham

Goodness I've never seen that stepping into the buggy one. How inappropriate! No one wants to see that. It's embarrassing.

She's just got no sense of what's appropriate for the occasion. However, I do suspect it's all about the attention seeking.

A nuanced racist rather than a crude racist? Give it a rest.

Like I say, I read these threads because the psycho drama of H&M is endlessly fascinating on a soap oera level, but let´s be real, the royal family are a bunch of massively privileged, entitled people, very out of touch with the vast majority. The circles they move in are well known for being classist and a bit racist. I mean, the classist bit is kind of the point of the whole system.

H&M are clearly quite bonkers, but the fawning about the rest of them really does get boring.

I haven’t seen any fawning.

The attempted rehash of things that happened before many here were born* is also boring.

*Despite what others say they’ve heard, there are posters of all ages here.

unfunnyoldbastard · 01/09/2026 16:54

Goodness only knows why they rushed home so quickly.

It surely cannot be anything to do with this.

Is Meghan even here in the UK? Is there even a school? I wouldn't believe a word these people come out with any more about anything.

Is Harry coming back a ruse because he thinks it'll be harder for William to remove his titles if he's present in the UK, not 'over there' in a far away land becoming increasingly irrelevant? (Which would mean H has heard a rumour that William is planning it, with or without Charles.)

DH has a theory that the palace are not happy at the thought of a young prince and princess if the realm being fully American with no understanding of British culture and zero affinity with it.

He wonders if it has been said or implied that if those kids aren't Britished up they'll all be relieved of their titles. Which is why Megz has agreed.

There isn’t any ‘fawning about the rest of them’.

But I well understand the professionalism the WRF put into their job does make it very east for people to recognise the difference between ‘the rest of them’ and the extremely unprofessional gruesome twosome.

Who knows? H&M need royal proximity to make money, and for their status. What are they without it?
The children are Prince and Princess by their choice (in spite of the wild claims they made on Oprah). They want residency so that everyone remembers how important they all are. They called their daughter Princess Lilibet Diana for a reason.
It's all about the fame, status and wealth.

I really find it hard to see how they can make any money out of the move back to England.

At most they could maybe get a reality show 'documentary' about the Great Return for NF. But that would be a one off and NF aren't throwing around the kind of money they did a few years ago. 'As Ever' is a non starter really. What else do they really have? British brands and celebrities will be even less willing to get involved with them than Americans.

Far from increasing their status, I think the return will only emphasise the lack of it. At least in California they could play the 'American royals' game, even if that's not really a 'thing'. Being 'royal' while not attending royal events down the road will highlight their 'B list royal' status.

Although I take your points, as I understand it, they were struggling to make much of the royal connections in California, it was getting too tenuous. I think they can get money from the Bank of Pa, and maybe can do some tv and other media work.
I think, however, the most important thing is to ensure those children are brought up in an environment which recognises their titles
.

I don't buy the theory that Charles is just passively doling out money to these two, but who knows?

I'm also not sure what 'TV and media work' they could do? If they couldn't make a success of lucrative contracts with the world's biggest streamer and the world's biggest podcast platform, with their own 'production company', what are they going to turn their hand to in England?

They won’t and can’t make any money as they are a busted flush.

But a couple of grandiose and delusional fools will keep banging on regardless.

But I suspect that they have plans to merch the DCs either now or later down the line - either directly or indirectly. This is MMs gravy train. She ain’t getting off.

I think PH sees it differently more arrogant and entitled against MMs grasping and grifting. He probably has no idea what she has planned. But she has a future proofed financial revenue scheme that her STBXH isn’t aware of.

Actually just on Oprah, she scheduled to give a talk & Q & A here in the Three Arena (The Point) in two weeks, it hasn't sold out, ads on the radio still "book now.. for groups & photo opportunities " even more embarrassing, it's been announced for at least a year.. I wonder is part of it because she totally dirtied her copybook with HAM?

Don't know, just speculation!
I do wonder if Pa is paying for the schooling. Whoever claimed he's "passively doling out money" is probably wide of the mark, though. Unlikely.

They didn't have to choose titles for their kids. It would have made more sense not to living in the US. Or they could have followed the praxis of other Royal grandchildren of using subsidiary titles and making their minds up at 18.

In fact HAM are following the lead of AMW who was desperate for his children to have and retain Princess titles - remember him lobbying hard in 2016 for Beatrice and Eugenie to have elevated status, more public funding, their own security and become working royals - referring to them as "blood princesses" as an apparent swipe at Catherine and Sophie as marry-ins. This is the route that HAM have chosen to go down.

Princess Anne refused all titles. Mark Phillips refused an Earldom. Anne refused titles for the kids. It seems to have done Peter and Zara little harm.

Edward and Sophie chose the middle way of courtesy and subsidiary titles. Edward chose an Earldom rather than a Dukedom and James adopted his subsidiary title of Viscount Severn (although now Earl of Wessex) and Louise chose to be Lady Louise rather than Princess Louise at 18 - both have reiterated that they won't adopt Prince/Princess titles. HAM could also do this - Earl/Lady Dumbarton or Baron/Lady Kilkeel - they won't though as they are desperate to maintain status to make money.

Absolutely. In fact when Archie was born, his birth was announced as "Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor", and their mouthpiece Omid Scobie posted that they wouldn't be having titles for their children.
Then came the wild claims on Oprah.
Then "oh, they're Prince and Princess!"

In Betrayal, Tom Bower claims that within days of QEII's death, H was pestering Charles to draw up and sign the Letters Patent to make A&L Prince/ss. Like Charles didn't have anything else to do, or on his mind.

I didn’t know that! , I thought it automatically happened when Charles became king and their children were then his grandchildren.

If that is really the case, it shows how little Harry understood, as there was no Letters Patent required.
