I'm trying to remember but I don't believe Doria has ever been given a post on her birthday. Maybe she wants to stay out of the spotlight? Certainly the last time she was on Instagram, trying a dessert, she seemed less than impressed. I don't think she's someone who wants a public profile so maybe there isn't anything more to read into it than that?

Not savage, just sensible surely? The Wales family will carry on with their lives and duties and I doubt the Sussexes PR machinations affect them much at this point. It's probably the indifference that winds up Harry the most.

Catching up this morning and it strikes me that this Gloria Steinem nonsense is the very essence of Meghan.

Instead of a tribute to an actual feminist she makes it all about her, shoehorns one of the kids into it, implies ajacency and slathers it in sugary bullshit.

Then you notice the clearly reframed photo, the smiling Meghan reflected in the frame and imagine the hasty and ill thought out process which led to all rhis rubbish.

It's a classic of the genre really.

Photo too small for frame, I suspect it was dug out of a drawer and shoved in any frame for that pic. Normally people get a frame to fit pic or enlarge pic to fit so no blank white edges at top, piss poor presentation and her grinning in reflection on dirty frame.... slovenly

I have never understood the relationship between arch feminist, GS, and MM, whose entire body of professional work has entailed portraying male fantasy figures, and not in an ironic way. Very odd indeed and symbiotic on MM's part, I'm sure: using a friendship with an uber feminist for reflected glory, and to deflect from her own decidedly un-feminist history of living off men and the male gaze.

I think those are very good points, and I don't know how Meghan squares that circle. Gloria gave her the bracelet "linked not ranked", which she wore, but as pp have pointed out, Meghan celebrates her title, uses it of course, and has it announced by someone even when she's meeting one person.
It's a conundrum.

She doesn't square the circle. Her PR machine feeds a story of a great feminist friendship to the unquestioning and incurious press, and they will print stories of a "moving friendship". There is no real journalism when it comes to MM. The question is: why?

It's a very odd relationship but maybe Glo pulled away a few years ago but naturally Meg won't admit that and posts and old photo?
