I have some experience of a situation where parents were treated slightly differently because they were considered to be in a 'special situation' and allowances had to be met; looking back over several years that meant that boundaries were gradually but steadily pushed so that the situation ended up being very difficult

That's why I wonder if similar issues could arise wherever H&Ms' kids go, @bluegreygreen

It's very well seen that they resent boundaries and don't so much kick as drop a bomb on them, and if they behave towards a school the same way as they do to other "institutions" I can see friction ahead

And therein lies the problem. I truly think that M (not necessarily H) feels that it doesn't matter how she gets in the headlines as long as she does. Thus the publicity surrounding her DC and her at times, um, 'interesting' choices of outfits. She doesn't really care that people may criticize her using them for publicity or remark that she's not 'dressed for the occasion' because as least her name is still on their lips.

H, on the other hand, I think is more motivated by wanting to 'feel the love'. He spent years being 'loved' by the public for who he was, not just a prince but Diana's impish son then later her tragic son, and was forgiven many 'sins' because of it.

I think H still craves that feeling of 'love' and his anger is based on a feeling of 'betrayal' by those who he feels should still chuckle at his antics and over-praise his 'accomplishments'. M on the other hand just wants to feel 'famous'. It's not love she craves, she wants the admiration, or better yet the envy, of others.

What hogwash - he’s denied his children the love, fun, safety and connection of a wide supportive family network whilst spending the last 6 years totally bitter, twisted, angry and preoccupied with police, family, media etc …. what he hasn’t been is an attuned, calm, mentally and physically present parent in the crucial early years of his own children’s emotional development. Such a donkey. Grandiose and delusional to the last.

Meanwhile, his brother and SIL, with far more constraints on their behaviour and time, actually appear to have actively worked at this by providing as normal a life (yes, a super-privileged one) as humanly possible while being senior WRF members. The smartest thing W ever did was propose to C. Not least because she came as a package with her family.

@Thedom the Sheik used to do pick up every now and then. Waiting outside the classroom like everyone else on his own. No fuss. No drama. No squadron of armed guards and press. Small talk, very polite. He and his then wife were very keen for diversity of nationality, religion, playdates and no special treatment. Not even a special chair for the royal bottoms to wait on when class ran over, or children chatting and in no rush:)

Hard not to read between the lines of that story isn’t it! , daily mail says they are going, now they are not and the mail was wrong….then a little guff about William not going if the hams do ….then the possibility that William may actually attend! 🤔🤷‍♀️

As Ive said earlier-the children’s names are horrible for a prince & Princess of the realm. Utterly innapropriate.
They had to be released to us because they are quite high up in the LoS.
Im sure if they could have they would have kept them secret - like they did with Archie’s godparents. That stupidness was a huge red flag to me. Baptismal records are public records -they always have been.
The LTE Queen had to intercede because they demanded it because they wanted these public records to remain ‘private’. She had to request the record was closed -never been done for a royL baby before. I think she was utterly wrong to do that as I thought it was a stupid precedent to set - and I did wonder what further demands they would make down the line.
They could have chosen nice, appropriate names and then given them private nicknames -afterall, we didn’t know about Willy and Harold until Harold opened his big flappy mouth did we.

Regarding the level of ‘famous’
I think the difference is this. The Clooneys -well, he’s famous for being Dr Doug Ross and a very high net worth in demand actor and producer. Amal - famous for marrying George but also gained traction with her legal career.
David & Sam Cameron - famous for being a politician, a prime minister while Sam is famous for her work at Smythsons and being a great wearer of British clothing, style icon.
Jeremy Clarkson -famous for Top Gear and Clarkson farm, for bringing the difficulties farmers face to millions via his tv series, for having a laugh, knowing loads of famous people, writing……
The Beckhams -do I really have to write it down??

With the Clooneys, The Cameron’s And Clarkson -I don’t know the names of their children apart from Ivan Cameron, the beautiful boy who was terribly disabled -but who the Cameron’s deliberately never hid away. They have all somehow managed to not have their kids known to us.

Collectively they are all famous for something of their own merit, their own work whereas HAM……….well, he’s famous for who his Mother, father, brother and grandparents are/were and she’s famous for marrying him but apart from slagging off his family what are they really ‘famous’ for?
What are their own merits?
Serving somewhat undistinguished in the armed forces for 12 yrs -thousands of people do that. Supporting a handful of charities ? How many people devote their whole lives to charity work? My mum (age 76, lots of pearls &diamonds) does more hrs per week for charity than Harry does! How do I know -because Harry tells us every time he does something!!! He blows his own trumpet -or actually he gets someone else to blow it on his behalf because well, he’s a Prince of England with a chief of Staff don’t you know.
Looking after his own kids -?? Yeah, right. Hardly anything of merit.
Meghan- lying? Hardly anything to be proud of . Selling re packaged mass produced spread and UPF packet mix?? Actress -well she dumped tht career soon as she could. And she wasn’t famous for that -she was hardly Grace Kelly was she !!
So they may be ‘famous’ or ‘infamous’ but it’s not for anything. They are just very very well known , disliked and without merit or talent.
I don’t think they will be popular in the Cotswolds. Why would they be? Theyare not popular in many places .

This is plausible. However William doesn’t strike me as the type to easily be bounced. How unseemly it all is.

It says that Harry 'is expected' to attend the Diana Award, as the brothers have taken events in turn in recent years, and William attended an event earlier in the summer.

Fairly innocuous reporting, but the later speculation is that Meghan may attend, which may not go down well elsewhere, so I assume that it what has annoyed the Sussexes.
