Where has it been reported that Meghan is too scared to do the school run?

Harry was once a senior royal, but the line of succession has moved on and he has naturally lost his position. He is stubbornly chasing a relevance he no longer has. Having been the spare for so long he likely perceives his own family as the "spare family", ignoring the fact that the actual spare roles have moved on to the Wales kids, as is expected.
The irony is that if they had just stayed calm and kept things classy, they would probably be quite popular today.

This is the situation in a nutshell.

They are both so impulsive and won't take advice, either from the MiGS or from their own PR people, if the rapid staff turnover is anything to go by.. They're not interested in the long game - they try this, they try that, they try this again.

Yes - they had it to lose, and they lost it by behaving like a pair of sulky teenagers. If only they'd realise that the only chance they have to recoup some respect is to live quietly, shun publicity (but not make a massive fuss about shunning pubicity....😂) and work at some genuine, unshowy projects. But there's more chance of me flying to the moon. Harry in particular seems to think he can turn back the clock and that the UK will just forget all the trouble he caused.

I'm not aware that there is anything new on this, and thought it was just the media rehashing the story from last time, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong

Henry VIII was only 11 when betrothed to Catherine of Aragon (she was 17 at the time) and 17 when they married. Henry was 52 and Katherine Parr 31 when they married - of course he needed a woman of child-bearing age.

I’m wading in. Having been a school parent in a school like this, the rule of thumb is that the more notorious the parent, the more they get ignored. Pleasantries are exchanged in the queue for the post-match teas and then we bitch about them afterwards and share “They did WHAT?” stories at the parties they’re not invited to.

I didn’t like either of the children’s names.
Thought they were dreadful for ‘royalty’ - it just felt they were dumbing down.
.Now of course they are trying to ‘dumb up’ (is that a thing or have I just invented it?) with those utterly ridiculous names.

I also think they will be nowhere near hitting the mark with regards to living in the Cotswolds.
HNW/Famous people who live there and most importantly send their children to school there do it because they want to live in a nice house, in a nice area where they are just absorbed into the community and live a normal life. Thats the whole damn point of living there.
They actively want their children to feel normal nd to blend into life with little friends who like them becuse they are them, not becuse of who mummy/daddy are or because of their bank balance. They don’t go round photographing each other to sell or exploit the pictures.
They want their children to be safe nd there will be undiscussed rules tht keep this in place.
I didn’t hve a clue for example which school the Tindall kids go to. Why would I and why would I want to? I do now though thanks to all the speculation.
I may have had a modicum of respect for HAM if they had said after arriving here ‘we are going to be living quietly in the UK during term time while our children attend school here. Our time here will be private and we hope everyone including the press will respect tht. During holidays we intend to go back to our home in montecito where we will be carrying on with As Ever and our other commercial projects’.
I should - along with my large pearl collection- move to the Cotswolds. I would fit in beautifully because I remeber ‘famous people’ but in my head they are ‘Kevin the joiner’ and ‘Anthony the Bank manager’. I think that they know me too -which they would if they really were ‘Anthony the bank manager’ as opposed to ‘Rishi Sunak, Prime minister’. It’s only when I walk away that DD or DH would say to me ‘who do you think that was’. It’s seeing people just doing the ‘normal’ stuff that throws me I suppose, so HAM would be safe with me as I would probably think they were the nice chap from the Italian/James cousin we met at that bbq or the American woman from the spa who booked me in last week. Although I suspect that’s not what they want…..

I wonder if M will be “accidentally” photographed in the Mums’ Race at Sports Day (remember who did this?) although I think she has two (big) left feet so it might be Aitch for that one.

Re the pp saying that HAm are famous, yes there are. However I would say they are more notorious given their shenanigans.

Because she ain’t staying (if shes here at all) … shes ensconced her defective, debt ridden, volatile, addict STBXH back into his family and community for him to be their problem and out of her her in LA as skips off back stateside.

I was thinking about Harrys plan to be on the sidelines watching A play rugby. It is as though they have a plan for their kids which may or may not be based on reality. Archie may hate rugby, lots of boys do. Even if he likes it he may not be very good at it. My ds loved football, he was in the village team for years but the truth was he wasn't a very good player. He so wanted to be good and his friends were all good players so he found it frustrating that he wasn't better. I hope H doesn't expect A to be his mini-me

I think the gendered expectations are already apparent.

I worked at an independent school at one point and a then-very-famous actor's children attended. Staff were instructed not to look at him when he came to collect the children. He'd stand well apart and gaze into the distance. Can you imagine?

It was ridiculous, and from time to time there'd be a reminder from the Head that this chap had been annoyed that some people (maybe other parents, or maybe figments of his daft imagination) had actually been staring at him.

I'm sure he was the exception and many famous people are sensible enough to know that the less fuss you make, the easier and simpler everything will be. And also - most people aren't interested in you, they're not looking at YOU, and some may not know you from Adam.

I haven't heard of any restrictions but none of the late Queen's granddaughters or great-granddaughters have Elizabeth as their first name, which I think it's odd as it's still a popular modern name. They all seem to have it as a middle name though. None of them are called Victoria either as a first name, and that is still a popular enough name too.

I think the only explanation is that it's not considered to be the 'done thing' in the family.

I cringed when they called their DD Lilibet, then had to remind myself that I am actually also called my Granny's nickname!! But I think the main cringe comes from Lilibet not being an actual name in its own right - as opposed to, say, Peggy which is short for Margaret but plenty of people are just called Peggy and no one bats and eyelid.
