H is not special, except in his imagination.

Keeping his mouth shut and not sharing his location with his whatsapp media groups would go a long way to ensuring his safety.

HeirNspareBNB · 30/08/2026 14:54
  1. Maybe Harry has finally noticed that there are guns in America and these guns are used in American schools and colleges and not in a good way

  2. My DD’s BF’s brother works for a HNW security provision company (private bodyguards and cars) and he won’t tell me anything. Meanie.

Basu actually sat on RAVEC so I think he is more qualified to comment than any of us posters on these threads.

When did he sit on RAVEC? Is he in possession of current information? I thought he retired several years ago.

Also those of you saying H doesn’t deserve the police protection he is requesting,

It's not about 'deserving' police protection. It's about whether or not RAVEC's current threat assessments deem it to be necessary and in line with Harry's relevance to national security. Despite what Harry thinks, simply being the son of the king does not entitle him to automatic security.

RAVEC have an excellent record in keeping people safe and if we're using such terms, they 'deserve' to be allowed to do their job without a petulant fool of a princeling whining and leaking confidential info to his pet media outlets.

RAVEC is made up of professionals.

I have faith that they will be no more swayed by the media circus than they have been by Harry's legal bullying.

Indifference is setting in?

Really?

Did you see the headlines last week?

And this is the 32nd thread of this series!

I agree with Rachel Johnson that whatever you think of H&M they are definitely winning the publicity war against the RF, even if the publicity is bad. Everyone is broadcasting about them!

And it’s the people spreading the negativity about them who are keeping them in the news the most!

I don't think column inches are a good measure of whether anyone is "winning". By indifference I wasnt referring to the press, or social media, who will keep playing two sides off against each other for as long as the clicks keep coming. I was referring to the general public who seem to me to be mostly over the drama, broadly supportive of the King and William and Catherine, and who have far more important things to pay attention to.

Harry doesn't seem to draw crowds any more. Even Invictus, as I understand it, doesn't draw crowds even on the scale of the Paraolympics. I was hoping that Harry would return and live a lovely country life, occasionally popping up to support one of his charities. Instead we are straight back to him demanding security and apologies. It's like being in a time warp 2020 except this time he isn't starting with the support that he did before when we all still remembered Palace PR Harry.

CoffeeCantata · 30/08/2026 15:01

JenRummy · 30/08/2026 14:22

The apology demand if true is beyond a joke. This is the same couple demanding from one family capitulation and from hers ostracism. It’s cruel and cold not to let her Dad see his grandchildren. She and H don’t need to be there. That tells us all we need to know about their hypocrisy, narcissistic tendencies and absolutely deluded sense of grandeur. Wish they had stayed away.

I was thinking about this and (unless your father is a sexual predator, or vilely abusive in some other way) I think it's going too far to forbid a grandparent to see their grandchildren. If you've just had a bust-up with them and are not speaking, that's between you and them. It depends which end of the telescope you look through; Meghan is depriving her ailing father of a very few chances to meet his grandchildren, and some might think she is justified (not me, but then, which of us knows the full story?). But she's also depriving her children of the chance to meet him. Considering that they've only recently allowed KC access to these children, I think it's actually abusive of HAM to keep them away from nearly all their grandparents and other relations.

Make no mistake: I'm not suggesting playdates with the Wales children - of course I don't expect that. Why should W & C have to have anything to do with HAM? But the actions of HAM which caused the family rift have definitely produced a situation which has robbed their children of a wider family experience. There could theoretically be meetings for just the children of both families, with nannies etc, but I can't see that happening either.

twatwrangler · 30/08/2026 15:03

Column inches mean fuck all, especially if the publicity is bad.

Still, continually reading what an absolute pair of cocks they are might actually sink in one day, so I’m all for the inches.

Starryfifty · 30/08/2026 15:05

It's same old BS from HAM. They just never learn. Will be constant leaking, security demands and negative headlines about K&C

My2cents1975 · 30/08/2026 15:06

I am reminded of this Sir Humphrey Appleby quote:

"I sometimes think our minister doesn't believe that he exists unless he reads about himself in the papers."

PR-wise and reality-wise the monarchy’s current strengths are:

History
Constitutional convention
W&C and their own family, & YouGov polls
Sophie & Edward
Anne (with a bit of sensible Tim)
Camilla’s friendship with JK Rowling (huge)

HaM’s current weaknesses that their PR and stans are attempting to undermine and distract from both directly or indirectly:

Anyone in the list above
The fact that Meghan puts the kids on Instagram
The York connection
The possibility that they need money
Their separation and divorce
Meghan and the acting thing
The YouGov polls

British republicans’ arguments are:

It’s the democratic way to do things
The obfuscation around royal finances is unacceptable
Disestablishmentarianism

Same. There's a pretty big age difference between the children too. Louis and Archie are only a year apart but George is already a teen and Charlotte not far off. I can't see them being interested in a 7 and 5 year old they've never met.

Besides, the Wales children are close with Arthur, Grace, Rose and Inigo and no doubt have other friends too. It's up to Harry and Meghan to ensure their children have playmates and a stable family environment. Hopefully they'll settle in well to their new school.

I just don't see it that way at all.

If you mean HAM have provoked a ridiculous media circus around themselves and have much more attention in the press and elsewhere at the moment, well, yes, that may be true. But that's not what the RF do - so why would HAM be in any sense 'winning' and who says it's a 'war'?

That's like saying 'Look, I'm winning at rolling in this dog poo - you haven't even got down and dirty yet!'. But I don't want to roll in dog poo, thanks - I'll stay over here and turn my back on you!

I think the danger is (and in this sense HAM have had a slight win) that we judge success in these matters by the amount of publicity generated, esp on SM. But that's not a measure of success as far as the RF are concerned. OK, I think HAM have created this sense that you need to be in the papers/SM/news all the time to be successful, but that's what celebrities do, not the RF.

If I were KC, W or Catherine, I'd just sit back and enjoy the daft antics of HAM, their pompous motorcades from Brum, their multi-million pound mansions, endless demands for taxpayers to fund their security etc, and smile. They re in a totally different game.

(And if you can afford a 12 million pound Cotswold estate, you can fund your own ruddy security).

Agree. No publicity may be bad publicity, but bad publicity is still bad publicity in itself. They may be “winning “ in terms of being talked about more but it really isn’t better to be seen in a relentlessly negative light. Many posters have said many times that the Sussexes would increase in most people’s estimation if they just got on with their lives quietly. This endless whingefest and victim narrative just means that folk are sick to the back teeth of them and it will not benefit them in the long run.

eta. I see Coffeecantata has a similar take on this, but I love the dog poo analogy. Although maybe in this case it should be fox poo 💩

I agree. I remember being say, 7, and being terrified of 9 year olds and much too stuck up to play with a 5 year old!

It's sentimental, yes, to think the children need to be playmates. They could connect very well when they're older - that's perfectly possible. But I do think HAM's behaviour over the past 4 years has robbed their children of a number of potential family relationships and experiences, nevertheless.

I think attempting is all they will ever manage.

Very many people think that H&M are shady, hypocritical, vindictive liars. I think continued attempts to ‘attack’ the RF in this way will not have the desired effect and in fact, will only add to the dislike and derision of H&M. People will get bored very, very quickly.

Andylion · 30/08/2026 15:26

@AutumnCrowOnTheMold , when I read that HaM were returning to the UK, like many people I wondered what they would do next, I thought of the episode of The Thick of It where Malcolm’s agent makes suggestions for a career change. Suggestions Google reminds me included:
Dragons' Den for Children in Need: A charity television appearance. Malcolm dismisses this by saying, "I'd rather fuck a real dragon."
Writing a children's book titled The Angry Spider (or The Very Angry Spider): A literary suggestion heavily mocking his notoriously aggressive persona
Harry could definitely write about an angry spider.

Recklessismymiddlename · 30/08/2026 15:33

It’s manifestly evident, that the Sussexes have failed spectacularly, whatever their latest spin from their PR or their fans is. If they hadn’t failed. they’d have stayed in the US. It’s obvious. Clearly not living their best life.

They have failed and moved back to salty island. And we are stuck with them and their whining.

twatwrangler · 30/08/2026 15:34

Harry could definitely write about an angry spider.

Agreed. He seems to have already trained some to spin wiry threads on his head.

Having read the DM piece linked above it just struck me more than ever that Harry IS indeed vindictive and spiteful (not that I doubted that after all that he's done). But it seems nothing has changed and he hasn't reflected or mellowed since Megxit.

It just seems that he's determined to spoil things for his brother out of jealousy and resentment. I'm not the heir, so I'm going to make sure things are as difficult as possible for William, even as far as destroying his character as a future king. Harry was pretty harmless until he met Meghan, which was like putting a flame to pure oxygen. The combination of their personalities and insecurities has been disastrous for them and others.

He's a truly unpleasant man - and I think he was an unpleasant child/teenager too. The MiGS just did a great job at their PR.

twatwrangler · 30/08/2026 15:40

Agreed @CoffeeCantata

I too believe that H was born with something about the night about him. Being born second was the kicker.

And then he married someone he thought was a star to bring the light around him.

And he got a black hole.

There is not something about the night about them.

They are the night.

Oh god I’d love Malcolm Tucker to meet Prince Harry in 2026. That is actually exactly what H should do for charity and be really bloody self-deprecating about it.

But he won’t. Because he is incapable of taking of taking the piss out of himself. He would have to brittly mention being a duke ha ha no really I’m a duke ha ha and a prince. Know your place, Capaldi.

Exactly.

Very few actually care about either of them in the conventional interest sense. The interest they generate is voyeuristic, there is no war, nor battle for that matter, being won, the majority are not falling for it. Harry continues to be seen as the court fool.

canklesmctacotits · 30/08/2026 15:45

Harry and security: he’s paranoid (Diana experience), stupid (believes whatever the security firm he’s paying tells him with zero critical thinking applied), entitled (I’m the king’s son so should get it), arrogant (I can write about my kill count and live wherever I want to live but this shouldn’t change the way you treat me) and delusional (he won’t stop nagging and whining u til he gets his way). If I were his parent I don’t know what I’d do - probably hand him over to professionals to deal with because I have my hands full with being a monarch and having cancer and training the next two monarchs and being in my late 70s.

I think Harry is the sort who, when someone does make the effort to explain something carefully and gently and patiently to him, and it penetrates his thick skull, he thinks he’s reached some kind of absolute truth and pinnacle of immutable understanding. And because he has a platform, he’s able to pontificate about that thing in absolute terms, forgetting he said something diametrically opposed to this new understanding two weeks ago, and childishly granting that yes he’ll have to deal with this new immutable truth come what may. Which means he’s vulnerable to whoever has access to him in this way. And, given how he’s ostracized himself from absolutely everybody - family, friends, advisors - there’s really only Meghan and the people wanting to make money off of them getting this access.

Which brings me to the Ian Waceses of this world. What does he want from these two, or rather what is he already getting from them? No billionaire hands things out for free. Not one. What on earth can Harry offer him that he doesn’t already have? (Meghan has nothing he can’t buy on the open market.). For this reason alone I’d be wanting to ask friends-in-common to keep an eye on him, if I were Charles. Andrew is a stain that will last down the generations, he can’t risk another in Harry.
