But she doesn't use it publicly, as per the agreement.

Why use it at all ? If this is a private gift why not just Meghan ?
If I send a private gift I sign it with my name not Mrs Mylovelygreendress!
So utterly crass .

Keeping it classy

The Horners will regret this as have OW, Tyler P, Clooneys, Kim K, Beyonce

Re titles

I would make HRH a title that is only given to working royals, no children or retirees. It would operate as a rank, signifying that this individual represents the monarchy with resultant expectations about behaviour and conduct.

I would like to see LP issued when William is King that only children of the Heir are styled HRH, so Louis and Charlotte’s children have no titles going forward, imagine if nothing changes and all the Wales children had 4 children each, that’s a potential 12 Prince and Princesses! (Yes I know Charlotte’s children wouldn’t automatically have the right to titles, but if things stay the same I doubt William wouldn’t want equality for his daughter’s children) seeing as a slimmed down “European” style monarchy is so often touted as the way forward LP has to change.

Only the firstborn of the heir should be HRH.
If that one dies, it's easy to HRH the second one.
We only need the direct line to automatically be HRH. (We don't actually need anyone on earth to be HRH, the whole thing is ridiculous, but you know what I mean. The fewer the better.)

BasiliskStare · 24/08/2026 15:35

I like your option 3 @KatherineParr . Sorts out the Sussexes and the Yorks but fairly.

The horners are the latest couple to leach off

Seriously. As an F1 fan that’s scraping the barrel.

Maybe that’s a bit harsh. CH is very much the country gent running shooting parties for charity.

However, I think Jeremy Clarkson and David Cameron may be part of that set including Fergie, Bea & Eugene. When CH was under pressure at Red Bull for extra curricular activities Jeremy rustled up a private plane to take their group of friends to a Grand Prix as support for CH & Geri.

Counting Canada and Tyler Perry's home, Archie is racking up his fifth home in seven years.

We're relocating with our son age 3, and it's a wrench to leave his little friends and our parent friends. I know we probably live slightly different lives, but I just couldn't contemplate moving that many times.

This really isn't unusual for military and diplomatic families.

I would never want HRH to be removed from the current Dukes of Kent & Gloucester. They have provided decades of loyal service.

JSMill · 24/08/2026 15:47

So he discussed his move back to the UK with a former spice girl before even informing his father the king?

Perhaps there could be a "Duke Emeritus" 😊

Doesn’t surprise me about desperate Geri and her equally awful husband, though don’t the pair of them have close links with the King and Queen? Geri is an ambassador for the King’s Trust and made a speech at the last Commonwealth day service, she also has strong connections to QC and have attended royal engagements together, maybe KC has asked them to make the HAMs feel welcome……🤔

I doubt very much whether the K&Q have the time or the inclination to set up friendships for his middle aged son and daughter in law!
I suspect just networking...

They could do it like the Scandi RFs

2019 king Carl Gustav of Sweden removed HRH from the children Madeleine and Carl Phillip and announced that they would not be working Royals

2022 Queen Margrethe stripped Prince/Princess titles from her younger son's children and announced that going forward the 4 children would be known as Lord/Lady (Count/Countess) on Monpezat. This would give the RF the possibility or removing titles from Archie, Lilibet, Beatrice and Eugenie without affecting Anne or Edward's childrem.

No, but military and diplomatic families are not doing this by choice and presumably have some sort of help with relocation, and also the move is planned as opposed to some sort of spur of the moment knee jerk hairbrained idea. Or whatever it is that has spawned this alleged relocation

If I remember correctly, the Danish change of status caused a rift in the RF and some tearful interviews with Prince Joachim and his wife saying that their children would be bullied at school due to their demotion from Prince/Princess to Count/Countess.

Obnoxious woman, with delusions of grandeur and a ridiculous habit of wearing cream because she thinks it makes her look rich……..is now best buddies with an obnoxious woman, with delusions of grandeur and a curious habit of wearing cream because she thinks it makes her look classy.

Match made in heaven really

Yes. The seemingly overnight pulling of the Danish titles is not the way to go.

Starryfifty · 24/08/2026 16:17

Assume Chris H is too young to be a second dad to H. He'll be flagged as Harry's new big brother

It wasn’t an overnight decision . The affected family were notified in May 2022 but the announcement wasn’t made until September/ October that year .
Reading reports at the time it seemed that the family didn’t think The Queen would carry out the change hence the alleged shock.

Scorchio84 · 24/08/2026 16:26

"It reminds me slightly of the story about Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Margaret. " When Princess Margaret called Elizabeth Taylor's massive 33.19-carat Krupp diamond ring "vulgar", Taylor famously replied, "Ain’t it great?" She then let the princess try it on, later quipping, "Doesn’t look so vulgar now, does it?"

I love this story, I read one of the many ET biographies years ago so it always makes me smile @BasiliskStare

Also love the Fresh Prinve pic @rocklivia 😂

And Geri the sister he never had.
