It's very childish , but if I were a royal correspondent I would be tempted to drop into an article "Harry and Meghan , the Cotswolds' unlikely new tenants ..." wherever possible. A little along the lines of that time Alan Shearer and others got into trouble for conspiring to drop in song titles when they were being interviewed 😊

A bit alarmed by the latest 'anyway they might move to Australia ' tone coming out now. Why? To do what? We have a magnificent Governor General representing the King, a quiet but ever present Republican movement, a strong charity and philanthropy sector and a small and tight celebrity circle. There is nowhere for them to fit in.

My sense is that they have built a mountain on the small platform of a weekend at Althorp and an hour with the King. If that doesn't work out they are doing the same thing on the few days they spent here in Australia, putting aside the lack of crowds at the he Opera House.

You're right, they got carried away by the success of their quasi royal Australian tour, and the reception they received. This, in their eyes, means they're popular and successful in the country, and Australians would welcome them.

They'd have to get a visa first. They can't just rock up in Australia the way they can in Britain.

The suddenness makes me think they got wind of potentially non residents being removed from the line of sucession or titles being removed. It’s the only reason I can think of that Meghan would willing move to the U.K. with the kids

That's my thinking. The titles and status are everything to them.

I believe it is a popular game among barristers, to lay bets/dares on using particular words in front of the judge.
And not just barristers I am sure.
I well remember during the Beijing Olympics, when the BBC went mad and sent a zillion reporters over there, I was listening to the Radio 4 news on my way home from work and an excited reporter interviewed one of the locals...
BBC "and your name is????...."
Local man "Mr Wan King"
Pregnant pause
BBC "Mr Wan King ???????"
Local man "Yes, Mr Wan King"

No one seemed to pick up on it but for sure that was a bet and several rounds of drinks won.

Anyway, as regards my potential new adjacent neighbours - several variations spring to mind:
"Cotswolds unwelcome new tenants"
"Cotswolds unloved new tenants"
"Cotswolds undesirable new tenants"

Those royal correspondents have so many choices!

Here in NYC we are alternating no rain with massive downpours creating flash floods on streets and in subway tunnels. I actually got a tornado warning a few days ago but it hit Long Island rather than NYC.

Meghan would need a visa, wouldn’t she? And Lily, unless they got her a British passport.

People don't believe my theory but my theory is that Charles called them, before his death. He loves Harry and this is why they will live near him???
