I think the marriage is on the rocks.
From Harry’s perspective he’s building bridges with his ailing father, who I think genuinely loves his boys. When Harry is the Harry of old, he has a lot of humour, and his late mother’s empathy. Don’t flame me, but I think the Diana legacy lives on in him. We saw glimpses of this on his visit last month. The public, a lot of them, certainly enough of them, remember a little boy, head bowed following his mother’s coffin. They will forgive Harry. He knows this.
From Meghan’s perspective, she is clinging on because being ‘royal’ without the duties was her aim from the start. I think he decided to return a long time ago. With or without her. He’s the son of the existing monarch. His royalty is what attracted her in the first place. Now she has to return or be alone. She’s caught between a rock and a hard place.
They will separate and divorce in the UK. She will be cast aside.
And Harry? Who knows. But even if he doesn’t return to his place in the country’s affections, he’ll be in a better place than he is now.
