I'm slightly losing interest. It's obvious that the official position hasn't changed and equally obvious that Harry has learnt nothing. How many more years of this are we facing?

It's like watching a car crash but it's getting so boring / predictable now. George birthday tomorrow. Cue back of head photos (prob at Diana's grave). There'll be another hissy fit at end of month when H is told how much he has to pay. Cue another attack on the judge

This is why I tend to placemark until something new happens or is said, MrsLF

There's only so often we can say they're both deceitful, lying horrors since most of us know that already, but fortunately they usually manage to pull some new stupidity out of the hat to keep us all entertained

I think the KC3 visit would have been 100% child focused. He’s seen PH a few times recently so the visit was not for his benefit. MM must have been squirming but no doubt her rictus grin and flapping about the DCs for the hour would have been something for her to distract herself with.

I think H&M want family reconciliation, emergency cash and still lots of royal adjacency glitter dust - but I think KC3 will hold off on the latter. He won’t fall for a HIHO 2.0

But he will want some level of reconciliation to put the public if not personal bad feeling to bed about being estranged from the DCs - that does KC3 no favours at all.

KC3 might be fully satisfied that an annual 1hr F2F with the Sussex’s is sufficient.

I suggest H&M will want more and that they want this private reconciliation to go public.

I think they will be targeted Christmas walkabout, Trooping, Ascot and Camilla’s 80th.

I think there is a precedent for Trooping for only WRF - so that’s sorted, Ascot they showed this year to disinvited Yorks, so would expect something similar to be acceptable to public - it seems it’s a social royal event?

Christmas is the one KC3 needs to button down - or will he use it to show family progess?

What about QC 80th Bday - surely he will be seen as a distraction like ? Phillip's recent wedding and that of Duke of Westminster.

Maybe the Xmas walkabout H&M need to be told ‘too soon’ or he needs to make it WRF only?

Any suggestions what the Sussexes will do tomorrow ? George turns 13.

Back of the heads shot of the kids watching the Coronation on a laptop to "learn about their heritage" - extra points if one exclaims "mommy it's grandpa!" 😂

Said in a squeaky little voice that sounds bewilderingly like a terrible actor trying to imitate a small child and failing miserably?

H and M will be lucky if they get invited for tea every now and again. As a pp said, the only time the king has mentioned them is to wish them in their new life and that was before H trashing Camilla in Spare.

BasiliskStare · Yesterday 19:13

I suspect M knows she is not popular in the UK & the security (non) issue was either an excuse or a welcome reason for canning the public appearances. I'm not sure H appreciates how unpopular he is.

I don’t think either of them do! I genuinely don’t think they realise. It’s the media isn’t it! ;)

@Bobbbb
Well first they've got to be invited to these events. If I were Camilla they'd be nowhere near my birthday celebrations. In any case, I think that will be a private event.
As for Christmas at Sandringham, it depends on the Wales' stance and other family members who'd be there. Perhaps the Sussexes could stay in a house on the estate because I can't imagine they'd be welcomed into the festive celebrations with open arms. Besides which, there'd be no control over photos of the children on the Christmas Day walkabout.
I'm getting mean in my old age so, if I were KC and if they even whispered about coming back as working royals, I'd tell them how concerned I was for their wellbeing in coming back to something they struggled with and disliked so much. Then I'd stress the importance of both of them following royal protocol at future events and how it had been noted that they both find this hard to do.
To which end I'd offer a return on the basis that Harry shadows Edward and Meghan shadows Sophie for the next two years to see how it should be done, but that they don't attend events on their own or together until they have shown that they're capable of fulfilling the role to my satisfaction and to that of my wife and the future King and Queen. That should see them off.

Theunamedcat · Yesterday 19:53

Well, they seem to come from a fairly long lived family, so forevermore

DaisyDooley · Yesterday 19:54

JSMill · Yesterday 15:47

Omg? Was that really thirteen years ago?! I remember that like yesterday!

I remember hearing the news that the Princess of Wales had gone into labour.
Thats Diana, having William!

DaisyDooley · Yesterday 20:03

BemusedAmerican · Yesterday 16:42

I envisioned KC giving Meghan a Highgrove hamper so that she could taste some proper jams and tea.

I spent the weekend laughing at DD who decided Camilla would have utterly enjoyed saying “would you like Jam and cream on your scone Meghan? Or perhaps a Jam Penny”!! While Fixing her with a knowing stare.

I don’t think k they have a cat in hells chance of being invited to Camilla’s 80th.
That will be a private celebration-no one will be invited who Camilla does not want there.
I don’t think Camilla’s children or sister Annabel would be very keen on seeing Harry either after what he had to say about her.
If they invited HAM I think a lot of people would sadly find they had a prior engagement- including the birthday girl!

BasiliskStare · Yesterday 20:14

Here's something I would think if H were my son ( and given I have one I do have sympathy with KC as a man rather than a Monarch) . If KC was told people were worried for H's MH , then I can see , as well as seeing his GCs this could be a reason for seeing H and family. However , this is not a reason for H being welcomed back into the WRF because he is feeling adrift (if he is ) , it is not a reason for bailing him out with money because he has a fixation with Diana and his wife and the press , it is not a reason for intervening on matters of security because H has a fixation with that. Family support is one thing. Becoming a member of the WRF is not a workaround for not getting or making the most of effective therapy. At the moment even H's interview after the Ravec case and his statement after the ANL case say to me he is utterly unsuitable for a constitutional public role. I simply don't believe H & M are anywhere near returning to the WRF, not by a long chalk, not by a country mile. No matter how many clickbait DM articles 😂

I always think the car crash metaphor is rather unfortunate when it comes to describing Harry.

I agree and I think the MH angle is very pertinent. They have as family only recently suffered a terrible tragedy with Thomas Kingston. PH is currently in the age range of highest risk and add any addiction issues, poor longterm MH unresolved trauma, money issues, relationship issues and risks elevate further.

I don’t think they will ever be WRF - but any reconciliation and acknowledgment of their DCs could include their public presence at public family events - garden parties, Christmas etc

It's quite obvious both HAM, particularly H are absolutely unfit for a public role.

Also, Sentebale isn’t missing H and his pals at all. They have two excellent new trustees, picked out of a talented bunch of around 400 applicants (!) who have expertise in the region, and also experience in fundraising, legal matters and charities including Save the Children.

thanks for the new thread.

I have a cousin who is ever the bloody victim. It’s every else’s fault including next doors cat. His parents, grandparents, siblings, wife’s whoever, whatever, boss, ex boss. He moves, it will get better. It never does because it’s him. No one dares say anything, just in case he does the unthinkable, everyone treads on eggshells. He has everyone, where he wants them.

So a a few years ago, I told him to do everyone a favour and just do it, because, I know he never ever will. He’s a coward deep at heart. He still hasn’t. He still threatens it, just not in my hearing. Because I’m the only one that stands up to him.

basically someone needs to call Harry’s bluff. I reckon he’s a coward also.

Err that is a bit ‘reckless’, @Recklessismymiddlename Pretty bloody horrible too, even if he’s a knob.
Its a myth that people who threaten suicide never act on it.
