Nobody seems to know for sure. Why should we care. Maybe he doesn't even know himself yet. He can't seem to do anything without attracting lots of press articles.

Beyond tiresome, but I suspect he knew he wasn't able to push it too far. Then along comes Meghan, suddenly he's got the most terrible life and no-one has suffered like him!

Persuasion works best on the weak minded!

I can’t see how PH can be the poster boy for bereaved children re Scottie’s Little Soldiers as he presents as chaotic, unresolved, messy grief as a middle aged man claiming victim and being defined by loss 30 years ago with addiction issues.

If these were my children (and I also lost one parent suddenly at 6 years old and the then other one slowly through subsequent MH decline) - I would want a role model that was open to exploring their own compassionate emotional journey through childhood grief and transitioning to healing in adulthood with an awareness of the impact this loss will always have but that we are resilient and have unique experiences to grow from and around. I wouldn’t want the toxic energy of a chaotic, volatile, petulant, covert narc, manchild anywhere near my bereaved children never mind him setting himself up as some thought leader / role model in their lives. PH is in fact an example of exactly how you don’t want your bereaved children to live for the next 30 years and end up alienated from all their friends and family in middle age.

I'm sorry for what you went through 💐. You're absolutely right, though. Those children deserve better than that whining petulant fool.
Good points.

Agreed Flowers

Dare I say your description of the ideal role model sounds like William would be a better fit 😱

I mean, given she never has shown the kids faces properly ....might be surprise surprise....since Williams ones are so gorgeous

We all know you can buy the police. Doesn't mean people still can't ask. He can say I will pay for x y z doesn’t mean he will get it. Point is if he did offer to it then goes back to the poster I was reaponding to who said he is wanting taxpayers to pay. To point out to them that he isn't.

If you know you can’t buy the police it makes absolutely no sense then in asking

Benjithedog · 03/07/2026 18:56

Serenster · 03/07/2026 13:26

Actually, Harry’s offer to pay was a deeply cynical ploy to make him look less grasping.

The Mail on Sunday reported at the time that it wasn’t true that Harry had offered to pay, and Harry promptly sued them for defamation and then brought an application to get their defence (that this was the truth) dismissed. Mr Justice Nicklin who considered the application had this to say:

I consider that [the Mail on Sunday] has a real prospect of succeeding in demonstrating also that an honest person could have held the opinion that [Harry] was responsible for attempting to mislead and confuse the public as to the true position (and that this was ironic given that he now held a public role in tackling “misinformation”)…

My immediate impression was that the Mail was alleging that Harry was guilty of “spinning” facts to his advantage… Having now seen the sequence of events, in my judgment, the Mail does have a real prospect of demonstrating that an honest person could have held the view that this was precisely what was being done on Harry’s behalf.

Harry immediately withdrew his defamation case after this ruling.

Thank you for this

If H doesn't come this summer, I wonder if it's time for a new Invictus Patron who can inject a bit of energy into promoting the Games instead of complaing about his own security. Seems awkward to have a Patron who may not even attend the Games when it's being held in Birmingham in 2027 if he can't resolve the issue. The will they/won't they isn't good for Invictus. Maybe it's time for someone a bit more focussed on the IG to become it's patron. Someone popular with the military - one of the Tindalls?

IceLollly · 03/07/2026 19:58

I actually thought his coming over was to mend some bridges before IV. It would be much better if other members of the RF attended and attract more money/attention.
I think I may have said it before but his behaviour makes me think he doesn’t really care about it at all. The participants must be seeing that. They should stay away and make their feelings known - although H would blame that on security issues.

How, exactly, can I "buy the police"?
I don't think "we all know" this at all.

You can buy The Police on Spotify I think. I’m not sure if they’re still available on vinyl. Roxanne was always overrated but Message In A Bottle is a classic.

CathyorClaire · 03/07/2026 20:20

Didn't W's new bestie Taylor effectively buy a top notch police cavalcade with free concert tickets for Starmer et al?

Guess it depends who's wearing the shabby raincoat and flashing covetable goodies.

TS apparently threatened to cancel her concerts unless provided with police outliers, bells and whistles.

It was well documented as a controversy at the time given the beneficiaries of her 'hospitality'.

TS had genuine security threads. Not imaginary ones. The only people who make decisions about security are the Met and the Counter Terror Squad. Take it up with them. I don't know their email address, but you could contact your MP.
UK protection is not up for hire.

No RAVEC made the assessment that she needed security for that specific concert date as a result of the credible terrorist threat that lead to the cancellation of the Vienna tour dates, which immediately preceded that London date. I elect they also took into account what had happened at the Ariana Grande concert and at Southport. Like any other individual who was the subject of a credible threat, Taylor received security for that specific time period. She doesn't usually receive armed police security in the UK.

Harry in contrast wants armed security when he visits because of who his Dad is. That is not deemed by RAVEC as a sufficient threat to warrant it.

CathyorClaire · 03/07/2026 20:46

So not really necessary to go ahead with her UK concerts then?

Very brave of her to carry on and perform without making a huge fuss don't you think?
