Nobody seems to know for sure. Why should we care. Maybe he doesn't even know himself yet. He can't seem to do anything without attracting lots of press articles.

Second shift clocking in, with the new script - You can buy the police if you're Will's mate, etc.

But, seriously, if the establishment of the country you're wanting to visit is so agin you, and if the threat to you so clear and great...

Fluffyholeysocks · 03/07/2026 20:50

Very brave of her to carry on and perform without making a huge fuss don't you think?

I suppose it depends on whether or not you think a credible threat wouldn't warrant cancellation as happened in Austria.

Fair enough to join in a discussion, but why get the basics so very wrong? Just check a few facts!

Ah. Of course.
A successful podcast for William. It must burn if you think Harry should be the Heir! 🤣🤣

😂

I actually don't.

Harold's as desperate if not more than any of them to maintain unwarranted privilege.

Bitter about the Kelce brothers having William on their podcast which aired today?

Yes they are very very upset about that.

Well, you're right on that score.

Presumably they had to balance the decision to cancel which would affect 1000's of concert goers or provide additional secuity allowing the concert to go ahead. They made a choice. Obviously the authorities in Austria came to a different decision. Maybe both decisions were correct.

TS had genuine security threads. Not imaginary ones.

So not really necessary to go ahead with her UK concerts then?

In the London legs of her tour Taylor played 8 sold-out gigs in Wembley to some 750,000 fans. A motion was tabled in parliament to recognise the substantial economic impact of the Eras tour on the UK economy, with an estimated boost of nearly £1 billion. It also noted that the tour's presence in cities such as London, Liverpool, Edinburgh, and Cardiff led to increased tourism, job creation, and local business growth; recognised the long-term benefits of heightened international visibility for these cities as premier destinations for global events; and called on the Government to continue supporting and investing in the UK’s cultural and entertainment industries to maximise their economic contributions and cultural influence.

So there was a substantial public interest in her tour dates going ahead if adequate security for Taylor herself and the concert venues could be provided.

Huh?

You know (I'm pretty sure you've replied to me more than once) I've been here 'yonks' as recently accused and haven't once deviated from the position that all royals are corrupt and venal albeit in individual ways.

Taylor and Travis make William look like an A lister (especially compared to Meghan, whose podcast Taylor refused to appear on). They must therefore be slagged off immediately! So their relationship is either non existent, or it’s “tacky” and it’s so unfair that Harry can’t have security when William personally arranged it for Taylor. (Never mind that her previous concert had to be cancelled because of a terrorist threat, and some little girls were murdered at a Taylor Swift themed event that same summer. Completely irrelevant, it’s all a conspiracy and most definitely William’s fault.)

OlympicWomen · 03/07/2026 21:10

Thank you, @Serenster. Very informative.

BemusedAmerican · 03/07/2026 21:11

Alas, Harry is not a billion pound man.😁

That sounds like exactly the kind of puff that led to spaffing £26m on luring Invictus to Brum.

Did it work then?

Didn't W's new bestie Taylor effectively buy a top notch police cavalcade with free concert tickets for Starmer et al?

Guess it depends who's wearing the shabby raincoat and flashing covetable goodies.

Edited

TS never bought a top notch police cavalcade, that’s ridiculous

She was provided with extra security due to a credible threat and the public were also provided extra security at the venue.

No one wanted a repeat of Manchester.

William being ‘best buddies’ with TS has got Jack all to do with it.

Serenster · 03/07/2026 21:14

Well, in May the government commissioned UK Sport to carry out an initial strategic assessment examining whether the UK could host an Olympic and Paralympic Games in the North of England during the 2040s. So I’d say yes.

Did this apply to HAM before they stepped down as working royals? 🤔

Or have they redeemed themselves now sufficiently by acting in such a fashion that they make the rest of RF (bar Andrew) look fabulous in comparison?

Oh come on you know that’s not true.

Viviennemary · 03/07/2026 22:08

Looks like Harry and Meghan are realising at last that they are becoming nonentities. Not very important in the US and even less important in the UK. The royals are just getting on with things without their drama. They'll have to come up with some new attention grabbing strategies.

Yes, and William's podcast and Kate at Wimbledon show how popular they are.

You don't understand how a direct terrorist threat might make security necessary? 🙄🙄

The same threat existed in Europe and Austria cancelled concerts

It was just a few weeks after Stockport

🙄🙄🙄

If H doesn't come this summer, I wonder if it's time for a new Invictus Patron who can inject a bit of energy into promoting the Games instead of complaing about his own security. Seems awkward to have a Patron who may not even attend the Games when it's being held in Birmingham in 2027 if he can't resolve the issue. The will they/won't they isn't good for Invictus. Maybe it's time for someone a bit more focussed on the IG to become it's patron. Someone popular with the military - one of the Tindalls?

Harry's (assuming it is him) highly irresponsible leaking of the threat report written by his private security company, with its reference to a 'mass casualty incident' at an Invictus event, has increased the risk of a malacious attack- for veterans, Invictus staff, venue and event staff, and the public. Trustees, some of whom are Harry's mates, should be taking account of their duty of care to all these groups and asking Harry to stand down as patron. If they do nothing to remove him, it will be another example of mismanagement, and of interest to the Charity Commission as the security row is overshadowing Invictus' charitable purpose.

More prosaicly, Harry's behaviour towards his father is so discourteous, at the most basic level, if he has indeed been offered accommodation and not confirmed at this late stage if he will be staying.

No Cathy you know it isn’t possible to buy police security and there was really security concerns.
