Why is Prince George not going to secondary school until after he turns 13?

Prince William reveals Prince George, 12, is already boarding at £10,669-a-term Lambrook School mol.im/a/15846933 via https://dailym.ai/android

I saw this article in the DM saying Prince George is currently boarding at Lambrook "ahead of moving to his secondary school in September". He turns 13 in July so the thought occurred to me - why is he still in primary school? Should he not have started secondary in 2024 when he was 11?

Could someone post a link to one of these press articles speculating about Louis? I had a look but could only find a couple of weird YT videos.

Ahhh so you’re getting back on their behalf, got it.

Harry and Megan fans really are deranged.

Picking on children, so low.

There are sites (Tattle is one) where there is any amount of speculation about royal children (conspiracies theories, diagnoses etc).

We have mostly managed to avoid it here, and when it is brought up it is usually swiftly shut down by regular posters.

There were no rumors in the press - there were loads of Sussex Squad digs on Twitter and social media deliberately trying to stir up a narrative about Louis.

Well, the rumours must have been either in the press or on here or I wouldn’t have seen them. They were around the time of whatever event it was where Louis was swapping laps and eating sweets and climbing over his mother at some event or other. In other words behaving like a bored 3/4/5? year old. As an aside-why is a suggestion of ND a slur?

No, he wasn't. He was enjoying the Platinum Jubilee Concert. He was 4 years old.
At one point he wanted to sit on Grandpa's lap, which was sweet. He was completely engaged and having fun and there was nothing for anyone to pick on, unless they're completely nasty minded.

Decacaffeinatednow · 21/06/2026 16:15

@FleurDeFleur
He also stuck his tongue out at his mother, put his hand over her mouth and covered his ears. Again all completely normal 4 year old behaviour.

My2cents1975 · 21/06/2026 16:18

It seems that asking why it is ok to ask a pregnant woman for lip gloss is taboo. I wonder why.

Absolutely! Plus he wasn't in church, or at a funeral, or Remembrance Day. It was a party 🥳!

My2cents1975 · 21/06/2026 16:24

It is quite something to see some posters choose to attack a child. Quite the choice. True superfans, indeed, with all their complicated narratives.

noonames · 21/06/2026 16:31

I don’t think anyone is suggesting ND is a slur - I’m just curious because I can’t see any suggestion in his behaviour that Louis is ND and also can’t find any articles in the press, despite claims upthread. Can someone link?

(I have seen people on here say that Meghan and/or Archie are ND but again not seen anything in the press. I believe Harry was ‘diagnosed’ with ADHD in an interview. I haven’t seen anything about Louis though, even on here.)

Is that was what was deleted? , how odd! 🤔

bluegreygreen · 21/06/2026 16:48

I don't think neurodiversity/neurodisability itself is a slur.

Neither do I think speculation about potential diagnoses for children is reasonable.

bluegreygreen · 21/06/2026 16:50

I would also say I have long disliked the MN trend of armchair diagnosis, particularly of diagnosing everyone whom the poster finds objectionable as 'a narcissist' or 'on the spectrum'.

SpaEnjoyer · 21/06/2026 17:10

There have been various examples of Louis exhibiting poor behaviour in public. These include the Queen's Jubilee Pageant in 2022, the King's Coronation in 2023 and Trooping the Colour in 2024. He was cupping his ears, yawning and gesticulating during these events. He was at it again at the most recent Trooping the Colour. George and Charlotte were impeccably behaved when they were Louis' age.

Tellingly, Louis was also left at home with his nannies during the Wimbledon Men's Final in 2025, which George and Charlotte both attended. I commend @CurlewKate for standing firm in the face of hostility from other MNers regarding this matter.

He was a small boy.
Only 4 years old at the Platinum Jubilee.
The balcony flypast? The Jubilee party? All fine.
As I said, he hasn't misbehaved during a serious or quiet event such as a church service or similar.

gatorlizzie · 21/06/2026 17:14

@SpaEnjoyer he was 4 - 6 years old 🥱

I can recall a poster on here who consistently referred to Louis as " the naughty one".

If you find normal behaviour of a very small boy so objectionable and worthy of attacking, why are you even on Mumsnet?

There have been comments about Archie in the PR disasters thread speculating he is ND and noone says anything but as ever those on that thread come running when there is whiff of someone saying it about a Wales child and speak out how its wrong to say that.

The irony.

Edited

It was suggested by someone who has experience. It is not true that this was not challenged. It was pointed out to the original poster by several people that it was not a good idea.

You read about it on here because there was an active and targeted Twitter campaign by the Sussex Squad to try to paint Kate as a bad parent based on Louis’ exuberant behaviour.

If you were watching it in real time on both platforms you could see the stock words and phrases being repeated on here almost verbatim from Twitter posts.

They’ve done this several different times with different occasions. Some have been more successful than others and they manage to whip up enough attention to get quoted in the actual press.

It’s usually aimed around Kate - sometimes directly criticizing her, or at other times mock concern for he being treated badly by William.

It doesn’t tend to spill over here as badly as it used to but it still pops up on Twitter and other websites.

What neurodiversity rumours? Haven’t heard those 🤔

I think on the numerous occasions when the poor kid was bored out of his head, sone bright spark thought he was ND

Garbage!! Totally normal toddler/ over excited or bored young child behaviour.

wordler · 21/06/2026 17:59

Also what makes Louis stand out is that for his recent balcony years there have been no other kids apart from his siblings on the balcony.

When George was that age he had the Phillips girls and one of the Tindalls around too. So kid behaviour was lost in the gaggle of the pack.

Although I do remember the older Phillips daughter putting her hand over George’s mouth on one balcony appearance.

My2cents1975 · 21/06/2026 18:00

I see the #bekind super fans displaying their complicated understanding of normal elementary school behaviour and are targeting a child on a parenting forum.

Apparently having one child behave differently from another is surprising for some super fans...unlike normal parents who are around some more rambunctious kids and some quieter kids at every school and in every home with more than one child.
