Why is Prince George not going to secondary school until after he turns 13?

Prince William reveals Prince George, 12, is already boarding at £10,669-a-term Lambrook School mol.im/a/15846933 via https://dailym.ai/android

I saw this article in the DM saying Prince George is currently boarding at Lambrook "ahead of moving to his secondary school in September". He turns 13 in July so the thought occurred to me - why is he still in primary school? Should he not have started secondary in 2024 when he was 11?

Saw a comment above from someone claiming to feel sorry for Prince George because he "has his life mapped out for him". I don't feel sorry for George or Charlotte because they both have clearly defined roles. George is the future king, while Charlotte appears well-positioned to be the future Princess Royal - a role which has been admirably performed by Anne for many years.

I do however have some sympathy for Prince Louis. He appears destined to be the next Spare, without an obvious role, and thus following in the footsteps of his uncle Harry. And it will be interesting to see if the neurodiversity rumours around Louis are ever substantiated, and how that impacts his role in public life as he matures.

It's highly unlikely that he'll be like Harry; who is selfish, greedy, deceitful and dishonest. Louis' parents and grandparents are very present and he's getting a firmer grounding.
I suspect that if Louis begins to show any of those unpleasant traits, he will be given firm boundaries and guided well.

What neurodiversity rumours? Haven’t heard those 🤔

I wondered that too ! Is that another Sussex fan ‘rumour’, ? Louis does not even remotely seem like he is neurodiverse.

I know! I was trying to think where they came from but can’t see any reason to suppose this from the few bits of video that are out there.

There have only been 7 Princesses Royal in history; it's a bit early to be predicting the title for Charlotte.

On what basis are you suggesting neurodiversity for Louis?

What rumours ? Or are you trying to start one ?

It’s a way of criticising the wales children, that can then be styled as faux concern if it’s called out!! 🙄

BemusedAmerican · 21/06/2026 13:22

Louis seems like a perfectly normal kid to me.

Indeed! And exceedingly insulting to us parents of actual ND children!

CurlewKate · 21/06/2026 13:31

There were loads of rumours in the British press and on here about Louis-there seems to be some selective memory happening here. I think they started when the poor kid couldn’t keep still through a 27 hour parade of identical horses or something when he was 3 or 4.

🙄 again here you are with the complicated narrative!

There were no rumors in the press - there were loads of Sussex Squad digs on Twitter and social media deliberately trying to stir up a narrative about Louis.

LipglossAndLies · 21/06/2026 13:38

There have been comments about Archie in the PR disasters thread speculating he is ND and noone says anything but as ever those on that thread come running when there is whiff of someone saying it about a Wales child and speak out how its wrong to say that.

The irony.

BemusedAmerican · 21/06/2026 13:40

Basically he acted like a normal kid and people decided to create a completely fictional narrative for clickbait.

bluegreygreen · 21/06/2026 13:41

Thank you @wordler - I hadn't seen anything so wondered what I'd missed.

Oh ! , so you are actually going with the “tit for tat “ defence then!
talk about saying the quiet part out loud.

Ahhh so you’re getting back on their behalf, got it.

Harry and Megan fans really are deranged.

BemusedAmerican · 21/06/2026 14:02

People on here have repeatedly shut down comments about the Sussex kids

I myself was the author of one of the speculations based on a pro-meghan article I had read and the speculations were in fact criticised (rightly so really) immediately by more than one person, so although recollections may vary and so on, you're actually dead wrong.

Indeed! , the fact that the posters here are not the ones who have said anything about the Sussex’s children is apparently neither here nor there, apparently 🤷‍♀️

Yes plus I can’t imagine for one minute that Louis will grow up to wear Nazi uniforms, make racial slurs, taunt disabled staff at his school, punch people in the face, tweak nipples or slap mens backsides while they are working, I think the Wales children with such a supportive family and extended family network, plus excellent schooling will produce well rounded adults.

Of course he won't. That's entirely the appalling behaviour of Harry.
