The Wales DC are seen at official events and photos are issued at birthdays etc .That’s it .

We see them far more than that! Don't forget the regular videos, one every season, William with Charlotte holding a football for Womens World Cup, jumping over grass on the beach, lots of stuff.

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 20/12/2025 12:43

I'm not a fan of this pair of twats but i love the photo.

That was an event that there is patronage of and a one off where Catherine addressed her cancer treatment. Next?

So , planned events .
Have you ever seen photos of the DC going to school ( other than official first day)? Play dates ? Parties ? Slobbing out in front of the TV ?

simpsonthecat · 20/12/2025 13:01

No. Where have I said I've seen this?

BemusedAmerican · 20/12/2025 13:22

I'm an American and I send out Happy Holiday cards. This because I'm sending them out to Christians, Jews, Pagans, and atheists. And that's just my blood relatives. One card fits all categories. If they are lucky, the cards arrive before New Years since the USPS is unreliable.

My elected officials also send out Happy Holiday emails for the same reason.

December doesn't just have Christmas, it has Hannukah, the Winter Solstice, etc. In my experience, even atheists like to spend the December holidays with their non-atheist loved ones and like receiving cards.

I said they are only photographed for planned events such as birthdays so I was looking for you to give examples where they are photographed when it is not planned .

Mydadsbirthday · 20/12/2025 08:33

The amount of projection on this thread, I mean honestly @OtherS the children have no chemistry - really??! You got that from this photo?

No, I got it from every picture I have ever seen of them. They don't seem to interact at all, or even be aware of one another's presence. Like I said, maybe it's because they're forced into to these weird and unnatural setups, and as soon they stop working they can relax and they're an entirely normal, close family. But the photos, to me at least, don't give off 'happy family' vibes so much as 'random strangers ordered to pretend they're a happy family' vibes. Other people will have a different impression, and that's fine. In fact, it's the whole point of a forum; if the op said what they thought and every subsequent post was just 40 pages of 'I agree' it wouldn't really work, would it.

OtherS · 20/12/2025 13:53

GreyPlayer · 20/12/2025 08:38

The same people will cry foul if that was done to the Wales’ kids 🤷🏽‍♀️

Firstly, I have not remotely criticised any children. I said the photo looked forced and unnatural - I don't imagine it was the kids' doing. I have also never 'cried foul' if people criticise the Wales' children, or them themselves. In fact, I'm not sure I have ever commented on them in any way. I don't find them particularly interesting, though they seem like nice enough people, and at least come across like they probably know and even like one another. I don't much like their photos either, I find them very cheesy and personally preferred the slightly more formal ones a few years back rather than them endlessly rolling about in meadows laughing like maniacs. But I believe that the kids at least probably do spend time running about together outdoors, I'm not sure I believe the Sussex children are really so overcome with love for their parents that they fling themselves at them mid-walk to gaze into their eyes. This is of course only my opinion, and maybe I'm wrong on both counts.

SchrodingersKoala · 20/12/2025 04:35

I don't get why people critique these 2 the way they do? And I also don't get the obsession with wanting to see their children's faces? Earlier today there was a post on here about a woman videoing her child's nativity and a chorus of "omg what if you film another child who can't be filmed" etc then lots of parents chimed in they don't share images of their children, this was the majority reply. Yet here we have 2 people who the public and media appear obsessed with critiquing their every move and they've made the choice to keep their children out that circus, good, yet it is always brought up. They aren't showing their faces yet there are still comments here on a 4 year olds hair and even her feet? Would you do that to other 4 year olds?

We can bet if his brother shared the exact same image the replies would be fawning over it. His brother has to share images and parade his children around as it's all part of the "job", harry doesn't and has chosen a different path. I don't actually like or agree with any royal family, no one should be bowed to just because they were born into a particular family, but the obsession and critiquing of harry and his family is bizarre. You don't personally know this man, there's no need to pass comment on him or his family.

I wouldn’t be wanting to see their faces if they hadn’t shared this photo - I wouldn’t be thinking about them at all. So by sharing this picture they are deliberately provoking people to want to see the children’s faces. If they don’t want to share images of their children that’s fine - perfectly understandable - but they do want to share images of them. They literally just shared this one. And it’s a really weird photo. It’s inevitable that people are going to point out how odd things look. If they don’t want people to critique them they shouldn’t have released the photo at all.

wordler · 20/12/2025 15:50

I have no problem with H&M keeping their kids faces private but because the way they have chosen to do this by constantly featuring them but mostly from the back of the head, or face obscured, it’s led to an unfortunate and weird impression for me.

And now I’ve seen it I can’t unsee it.

If you scroll down the IG feed Lili runs all the way through it always looking in another direction - it feels a bit like a creepy Doctor Who episode or that movie with Nicole Kidman. It’s that unnerving feeling that you get in jump scares when the character finally turns around.

I think a much better option would have been to not use the kids so much in the brand advertising if they weren’t going to have the faces being seen naturally occasionally.

I’m sorry but there isn’t anything remotely wierd about the photo. It’s posed so that their dc’s faces can’t be recognised in public. And that’s fine by me.

When you are raising young children, your life inevitably becomes all about them, so I can understand why they want to record this; it’s a snapshot of the family as they are now.

I think it is in very poor taste of op
and others to comment about a child’s appearance; whether it’s about hair or clothing!

And frankly if you look at this photo and the first thing that springs to mind is negativity rather than wishing a young family well, then it’s time to do something else with your time that’s more positive.

wordler · 20/12/2025 16:24

And I would agree with that for any private family photo perhaps shared with a select friend and family on Facebook but this is literally a PR release for brand Sussex - it wasn’t taken like this for the family photo album.

OlympicWomen · 20/12/2025 16:36

Their lives may well be "focused on raising their young children", however, their lifestyle involves a lot of travel and activity without those children.
There must be hundreds of pictures from this year without the kids. They're not exactly SAHP!

mathanxiety · 20/12/2025 16:39

@OlympicWomen
They are very like millions of other parents whose work involves travel and/ or long hours.

MrsKateColumbo · 20/12/2025 16:39

It's a nice photo

Lilibet has the same hair type as DD and I can guarantee it was brushed 2 secs before the picture, I think it's because of the curl/hair texture as i have had better results with DD using curl products

Again, other then by birth they are not royal children, they are celebrity children. They have no role in the RF, nobody needs to see them or know anything about them.

What a vile thread, berating the appearance of children and critically analysing a nice family photo. "Oh but they shared it publically" yes but I've no doubt if they didn't share one there would be a thread wondering why and giving out about them for that too. I also wonder if Kate and Will posed in the same way with their children looking similar would the comments be the same or would there be gushing compliments over how amazing they all look. Some of you are obsessed with hating this family and it's strange why you invest that much time into hating a family you don't even know in real life. I dont get the obsession with the Royal Family anyway so I'll never understand it fully but bloody hell give yourselves a break!

Agree.

Criticism of the little girl's appearance are truly below the belt. It's easy to understand how the couple decided the UK wasn't the multicultural paradise it claims to be.

The UK has never claimed to be a "multicultural paradise" has it?
Harry's own racism and vile boorish behaviour is well documented, so he's hardly above reproach.

I agree. You shouldn't comment on a young child's appearance like that. By all means laugh at Harry's ludicrous hair situation in the picture, but Princess Lilibet should be left alone.
