The royal family

Good riddance. Reminds me of King Edward 8th

anamo · 17/10/2025 19:07

Queenie should have done it. But it's a brave move. Something further must be about to break.

Instead she gave him more.

I'm thinking the same, they know there's more to come.

I don’t think there’s necessarily anything further, I think this is due to the emails that came out the other day.

Yootoo · 17/10/2025 19:10

The Queen’s tolerance of him was shameful. There seems hardly any doubt that he is a seedy, despicable human being and yet he has been living a life of absolute luxury, self-indulgence and self-importance. It sickens me that money and position place you above the law.

Well done King Charles but your actions do not go far enough towards justice.

SummerEve · 17/10/2025 19:11

Except he ISN'T though, is he? He will still be 'Prince' Andrew. I was hoping that he would simply be Andrew Mountbatten, or Andrew Windsor or whatever it is. I do agree with anamo though that something big is about to be disclosed and this is a pre-emptive strike.

NoOneToCallWhenThePlaneLands · 17/10/2025 19:12

The rest of them should follow. They have been protecting him for years.

BettysRoasties · 17/10/2025 19:12

About time. Now the house.

SirChenjins · 17/10/2025 19:14

Excellent news - although it doesn't go far enough.

Pollqueen · 17/10/2025 19:16

Makes you wonder what's about to break. Bet he hasn't done this willingly. Will he now also move from Sunninghill?

If he has a lease that may be difficult. But hopefully no more of him or his ex wife in public.

It’s the China stuff.

I keep saying

  1. Prince Andrew and the China spy scandals is a very big deal actually (especially re the CPS and Select Committee investigation);
  2. Also, Harry & Invictus & and the Israeli IDF in Birmingham in 2027 is going to be a security and financial shitshow.

But tumbleweed.

Arlanymor · 17/10/2025 19:18

'Gives up titles' - that man doesn't give an inch, they are being taken away and this is supposed to save face. Problem is the slimeball has more than one face. This is so overdue and makes me think there is much more to come with Epstein files...

13 posts before harry is brought up on an entirely unrelated thread is a new record tbf

That plus the recent revelation that he emailed Epstein expressing support and suggesting they were in the same situation AFTER he claims to have cut contact. And the extracts from Virginia Giuffre's memoir that have been published recently.

Losing what was basically a ceremonial title anyway is not enough IMO. And the family are only doing this for their own PR.

But he has to pay the upkeep. He will fail at that if he can’t dodgy trade off his titles and such.

ShenandoahRiver · 17/10/2025 19:27

What has Harry and Invictus got to do with Andrew finally facing some reality about his life?

Lack of discussion on here about potential for HM Government’s to become worried about and concerned with royal-aligned issues involving ‘Spares’.

I suspect that it isn't in response to anything very recent. This would have had to have been discussed with the government before anything was made public which would have taken time. So happy he won't be flouncing around in his Garter robes anymore.

Would it? If it needed gov approval (which I think some title removals do) wouldn’t that have to be official through parliament? This is him giving up the use of the title rather than an act of parliament to remove it - is it any different to Harry and Meghan agreeing not to use HRH? It doesn’t sound like it’s been stripped from him. His statement said “I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me.”
