The royal family

So the Mail on Sunday have published another email from Andrew.
He gave his Met Police protection officer Virginia’s date of birth and US social security number and asked him to search for information about her, suggesting that she had a criminal record . He informed Ed Perkins, QE2’s deputy press secretary that he had done this.
This was done the day before the Mail published the photo of him with his arm around Virginia.

Other revelations include a claim by Epstein that Sarah Ferguson and her daughters were among the first to visit him
after his release from prison in 2010.

He needs to lose his "Prince" title too.

I am happy to see him punished, even though this title thing is in no way sufficient, but I do agree that some of those involved are being used to distract from others.

Andrew, Sarah Fegusson, Peter Mandelson and even Ghislaine Maxwell herself. All British.

No rich Americans are under the same scrutiny. This is not a coincidence.

And Trump!

ShenandoahRiver · 18/10/2025 22:09

There is no way that Trump is going to be investigated by any federal or state prosecutors in America.

It's also not surprising that they may not have believed it for a long time. After all, the press behaved dreadfully towards the sisters when they were younger. I wouldn't blame them for paying no attention and shutting out the media noise.

I imagine it's also a difficult thing to come to terms with - your beloved parents, especially your father, doing terrible things.

When Andrew did his interview, I think Beatrice was in complete denial about the accusations and was convinced he could explain things away. Wouldn't we all want to do that with a loved one?

Their grifting in the Middle East is no worse than what the entire family get up to - which is a problem in itself, but not really something for which they can be singled out.

The whole monarchy is corrupt to a degree, but in this instance I think it's unfair to say the sisters are as bad as their parents just because they might have found it difficult to accept what their father in particular was like.

A bit like the democratically elected President of the USA.

Epstein pal. Middle East bribes.

We definitely need a Republic and elected Head of State, that would automatically solve the problem.

He can’t be as a sitting president. After that, he could be, but probably won’t be. There’s worse for a president, though.

It's appalling.

But given Trump's 'lawfare' against his opponents I am.not sure the answer is automatically that removing the monarchy is the answer.

Better education? Better media regulation to differentiate between facts and opinion? I am.not sure how we dismantle inherited privilege (though suspect VAT on private school fees isn't a bad start 😮)

I thought you were born a Prince, end of, and you can’t change it.

The King can change it, and it has happened in the past. An act of parliament is required to strip the dukedom, but prince/princess, and HRH are within the monarchs prerogative.

Letters patent can change it.

Just as Charlotte and Louis were born HRH Princess and Prince because of new LP's then they can be removed in the same way.

Generally changes aren't retrospective but they can be. Quite a few Princes lost titles in 1917

It’s not their fault and it must be horrendous to have such publicly disgusting and embarrassing parents. It must be horrendous for any child to hear the allegations about Andrew and especially on such a public scale.

Yes I agree. They both seem like nice people.
