Half of those stories were never even known—like how he treated his teacher, how he put cream on his frostbitten part, or how he lost his virginity, just to name a few.

The teacher thing may require further scrutiny, but do you really think that anyone else should have a say in how the other things are talked about (provided he doesn't name the sexual partner)? If so, why?

That’s a different argument to the one he’s making though. You can certainly debate how much people have a right to talk about their own lives, vs the right of others not to be talked about. I imagine everyone who has ever written an autobiography has had to decide where to draw that line (and everyone will have different opinions).

But he hasn’t used that defence (which I think would actually be quite reasonable), his argument was that the book was a “series of corrections to stories already out there”. Which is simply not true. Was there a story already out there that he was pleasant to his teacher, and he had to correct it by saying that actually he was pretty nasty about her? Was there a story about his virginity he needed to correct? It’s so annoying.

Janiie · 15/09/2025 07:52

He never ceases to make an absolute fool of himself.

Fairyliz · 15/09/2025 07:52

Just goes to show all of those fancy schools make no difference whatsoever.
If you are dim you are dim.

I imagine a PR exec has told him to donate a headlining amount of money to a charity and then hug a child in a war zone. ‘Then the UK public will love you again!’

So that is what he did.

i think he’s mentally ill. And thick.

This

The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected.'

He keeps lying. Half of those stories were never even known—like how he treated his teacher, how he put cream on his frostbitten part, or how he lost his virginity, just to name a few.

But that's not dirty laundry, is it. Perhaps there were rumours we don't know about that his willy has never been frostbitten and he was correcting that

When William is King he knows he will lose his title.

You think William will be king? The monarchy will still be here?

Bunnycat101 · 15/09/2025 07:28

In every organisation I’ve ever worked in media statements are checked by multiple people and then checked again. He is being poorly advised and obviously doesn’t realise how hard the palace previously worked to protect him from himself. Outsourcing to a PR firm will never give him the same access to advice that he had previously.

Exactly. He will have been given a detailed briefing by his PR people on how to respond to questions he was likely to get from the Guardian journalist. One of the questions will have been about the book.
Either he didn’t read the brief, went off piste or the PR needs to be sacked.

NetZeroZealot · 15/09/2025 08:03

I haven’t read the DM piece because DM.
I can imagine how they’ve spun it though.
The Guardian source material actually focuses mostly on the Ukrainian soldiers.

Laserwho · 15/09/2025 08:04

He hasn't just aired his own dirty laundry he has aired the dirty laundry of many other people as well. The majority of the British public won't want him back

NautilusLionfish · 15/09/2025 08:10

I thought he had had a good trip and I generally feel as much as he missteps many times, the press have had it against him and tried to destroy him and Meghan. But I also get frustrated by his lack of sense sometimes. A successful trip on well child and Ukraine wounded. He didn't have to bring up anything regarding his book. More importantly saying the "focus of the next year needs to be on my dad" sparks unnecessary speculation. Like is his cancer worsening? Is his prognosis poor and he has only until next year? Why should the focus be on father "this next year" not even 2 years or whatever? It's just so unnecessary to mention that at all and I wonder how Charles will feel (unless he sanctioned it to prep the country). Am sure his team vetted the questions beforehand, why didn't they say no to those personal ones? Or throw in a bland anecdote about life with his amazing kids and wife? Why couldn't he say he wanted the focus to be on Ukraine or veterans and this wasnt about him? Or no comment? This never ending crusade against the press as justified as it might be, he needs to let it go sometimes. Just park it away every now and then (given he can't let it go completely)

Netaporter · 15/09/2025 05:23

It’s the King I feel for the most. Whatever his prognosis is (and it’s a private matter) he’s a nearly 77yo man who has two grandchildren he doesn’t see regularly and two sons who are not speaking. He’s got the awful job of trying to balance being head of state whilst his youngest child has tried to sue the state when he was gravely ill which in turn necessitated an arm’s length relationship. Not to mention the fact that Harry no longer seems to be able to keep counsel about anything at all. The King watched his own mother excuse the actions of his younger brother so I expect he understands William’s point of view also because Harry has been forgiven many times before..Harry is lost at sea unfortunately in Meghan’s world of huge expenses which necessitates this permanent requirement to trade off his former status. That said, only a narcissist would say some of the things Harry has said lately- doubling down on things you’ve said and trying to reframe them as something entirely different is a classic example of narcissistic behaviour..

Is Charlie not guilty of narcissism in the past as well as revealing too much? Tampongate and having an affair the same length of time as his marriage? Both of Harry's parents aired a fair bit of their own dirty laundry.
That's not to excuse the level of detail Harry has gone to, which no-one really wanted to know.
They are and always have been a dim, dysfunctional family who've got away with paying virtually no tax, are the largest land owners in the UK and get a yearly hand out. Why is anyone surprised that they're selfish and self obsessed. And why do they get praise for doing some work.

I’m not who you were asking, but I think if what Harry is implying that Charles is terminally ill; then unless William walks (which he won’t because it means George will be king) then yes I think so.

I don’t think the uk has the energy for another referendum at the moment and the government have more pressing issues.

I can Possibly see William as the last one though, depending on the mood of the country.

NautilusLionfish · 15/09/2025 07:58

I personally think the monarchy shouldn't be funded anymore, they have enough of their own cash. But I don't think they're going anywhere fast.
So far, his brother has done him a lot of favours and he seems to have taken his lead from relatives like the Duchess of Kent and Liz, in that he keeps a lid on himself.
The D of K is the only one I've ever had any respect for.

NautilusLionfish · 15/09/2025 07:58

Seeing as the current King has cancer and Harry has just hinted that he may only have a year left, I think it’s pretty certain we will see William on the throng… seeing as we’re not in the middle of a revolution right now. Nothing is going to change. Anyone who actually no relieves the monarchy will be disbanded is just stupid. I don’t like having a monarchy, but I’m not stupid and realise that my personal preference does not a revolution make.

Mylovelygreendress · 15/09/2025 08:18

@deadpan “ tampongate” was a private conversation which was hacked .

NewAgeNewMe · 15/09/2025 08:18

@deadpan ’tampongate’ as you call it was a hacked/tapped private conversation. It’s hardly the same. I don’t disagree with your point about the interviews his parents gave or both their affairs.

MarshaMarshaMarsha · 15/09/2025 07:26

Apologies if I’ve missed any discussion on if but is this a big hint that Charles is sicker than they have let on. It sounds to me like Harry is not expecting him to recover?

It sounds like that is what he inadvertently disclosed by saying the focus is on his father for the ‘next year’. Thats twice now he has alluded to his father not having long to live. Shouldn’t Charles be stepping down? he has looked particularly unwell on a few engagements.

Weepixie · 15/09/2025 08:21

stayathomegardener · 15/09/2025 07:43

I don’t see how his statement regarding the King can be taken any other way than implying his cancer diagnosis is more serious then we are led to believe or indeed terminal.

Outrageous behaviour when Charles has clearly wished to keep any information private and damp down speculation.

I think if the Royal family take him back now in any official capacity he will tank them all.

I agree Harry has told us the King isn’t long for this world.

I’m disgusted and as we say in Scotland - I’d gladly shake the shite out of the little f*kr for it.

Mylovelygreendress · 15/09/2025 08:21

Harry had ONE job . Keep quiet . 🤦‍♀️
He has just played straight into William ( and others ) hands . Idiot.

As for Meghan telling him to stick to the truth 😂😂

Weepixie · 15/09/2025 08:23

I believe that like everyone else with a life threatening illness he should be allowed to carry on his normal life as long as he wants to.

ToysCatapultedFromPram · 15/09/2025 08:27

Yep, Harry’s put his foot in it by indirectly telling us his dad may not be around much longer. The idiot.

It looks like he wants to have his cake and eat it. Live in California, and pop back here and do a few gigs and get his UK royal fix.

He should just do his own thing and do charity work around the world and enjoy it. As for the British public. I don’t think he’s welcome.

Once Wills is king he won’t have Harry around.

Thedom · 15/09/2025 08:28

It is kind of funny to see him coming back with his tail between his legs, so many posters on this board predicted this would happen, wonder where are all those posters who cried ‘never’, ‘why would he’ are now?

Harry and Meghan’s mega failures in the US, and his desperation for a return to the good old days, must be a hard pill to swallow for some of their fans.

Even funnier to hear him trying to worm his way back into the British public good books, the British public are now wonderful, and who can forget him boldly stating, only a few weeks ago, the UK courts, government and the monarch are so corrupt they perpetuated ‘an establishment stitch up’ on him.

In private. A dear friend of DH has cancer. He's in hospital, last throw of the dice he said. In between treatments he soldiers on like Charles. Thankfully he doesn't have a son like Harry.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 15/09/2025 08:29

He has a right to discuss his life. I think King Charles is dying, I think William is lazy and selfish.
Harry was right to leave the UK, the media obsession was disgusting, the DM continues to write crap about them.
Harry was the scapegoat to protect Randy Andy.
King Charles needs his support, the Einstein emails is going to damage the RF.
