Several thoughts here..
If the focus is on his Dad, why did he spend less than an hour talking to his father when he hasn't seen him for so long. The last meeting was half an hour or so I seem to remember. That is not any kind of relationship and doesn't suggest that Charles felt he had much to say to his son.
I think Harry is subtly trying to suggest that Charles is nearing the end of his life, which is a breach of privacy. He's obviously keen to be seen to be making amends, even if that isn't really the case. He isn't willing to apologise or admit he's behaved absolutely appallingly, just wants to brush his money making betrayals under the carpet. I am certain there are ulterior motives at play which are entirely self serving.
