Scrolling past the ancient talking points ...

It strikes me that all Harry had to do for this to have been a successful visit was not answer questions about his father or his book. His PR must be screaming into pillows at this point with frustration. All that effort to showcase his charity work and he turns the headlines back to his grudges.

One thought did occur, I think trusts have to be set up for 7 years to avoid tax and if the King didn't set anything up until the children were born there may be a tax issue, if he dies soonish, which Ihope he doesn't. Could that be why Harry's focused on the year thing?

I live in Windsor.
It was crazy here-the Long Walk was full of champagne carts and food stalls and a very festive atmosphere. The weather was gorgeous.

The whole town was buzzing-the M&S actually changed the name on the front of the store to Markle and Sparkles.
Flags and bunting everywhere.
It was extremely an extremely happy and joyful vibe (even though we had metal detectors at the end of our road and parking was impossible)

I don't think they could have had a more positive reception from the public than they did.
People were so ready to get behind them.
And they threw that all away with their subsequent behaviour.

This. When even good old M&S change their name to Markle & Spencer for the day it's a big deal.

I remember dashing in that morning to get some more snacks as we had a few unexpected extra guests come to watch the wedding with us. There were signs up everywhere welcoming everyone to Markle and Spencers (must have cost them a fortune for one days use) and a man on the door offering everyone free chocolates. They don't do that for just anyone.

There was also a massive big screen in the town square right for anyone to watch the wedding on and even though it was early morning I remember there already being loads of people there and the sense of excitement and goodwill was palpable.

Aren’t you forgetting Diana’s multiple affairs in that little story?

Diana only had affairs when she realised her marriage was over due to PC’s behaviour with Camilla - I remember it all very well.

Diana only had affairs when she realised her marriage was over due to PC’s behaviour with Camilla - I remember it all very well.

Regardless of who cheated first , Diana had multiple affairs including with Will Carling whose wife divorced him . Then there was Oliver Hoare . Diana bombarded his wife with anonymous phone calls and the police were involved .
Diana was no saint .

Is the Daily Mail his go to mouthpiece now?

Harry stop making everything about you!

You’re an embarrassment.

Seems so, doesn't it?

Did I read something recently about him potentially dropping his legal case with said 'news'paper?

I remember some very elderly gentlemen sitting in a fold up chair, saying if no one in her family was available to walk her up the Aisle. He would happily step in.

I find it hard to believe that KC3 would have told H that he only has a year to live.

It does seem like a child knowing or thinking that they know something that no one else does & just bursting to tell everyone.

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”

A very apt quote!

Is he deluded or does he think everyone else is?

Didn’t Harry say that he was laying it all out there so reporters wouldn’t have any more reasons to go digging in to his past?

To be fair, if you read Spare, he lands himself in it as much as anyone else!

I don't think Harry & Meghan are set to divorce. I think they both need to earn a lot of money to support their lifestyle and they currently do not have that stability.

It was always going to go this way. There was only ever so much 'dirty laundry' to air and limited interest in seeing it! I am sure that KC and the rest of the RF predicted this would happen. Harry is clearly easily lead and impressionable; that is not news.

I would love to see Harry reconciled with his family and eventually doing some Royal duties. I would actually not be surprised if he had the okay to say what he did about his father's health.

And no, I am not Meghan Markle!

Can I ask why you would 'love' to see Harry doing royal duties?

And how would it work with him being resident in California? Would he fit in 'royal duties' around his wife's twerking videos?

People do tell their families stuff like this and the King would have to. Everything that can be planned when it comes to the RF, is meticulously planned.

Re Harry’s ignorance about not knowing Archie would not be a prince until his father was King. I think Meghan and Harry were briefed on exactly what would happen because Meghan even referred to the Letters Patent in the Oprah interview but spinning it that a change might even be made that Archie would never be HRH.

She started to talk about ‘conversations’ happening that he would never get the Prince title. And then Oprah did one of her over dramatic reactions and went straight to the implications it was because of race and then they moved onto something else.

I’ve always suspected that Charles was having the conversations about slimming down the Royal titles and changing the existing rule to just keep the Prince/ss titles in the direct heir line. (Which I think they should definitely do before Charlotte and Louis have kids).

I think Harry was outraged that his children might not be treated the same way as William’s.

Putting the racism claim out there on Oprah hobbled Charles from taking any action on the titles without an outcry that he was only doing it for the first mixed race grandchildren.

Diana only had affairs when she realised her marriage was over due to PC’s behaviour with Camilla - I remember it all very well.

Why do people act like Diana didn’t know exactly what she was getting into? She was childhood friends with the royals, their grandmothers were close, and even her own sister dated Charles before her.

Yet somehow, because Charles reportedly cheated first, people excuse Diana’s own string of affairs with married or taken men. She was reportedly involved with Barry Mannakee, James Hewitt, Will Carling, Oliver Hoare (married), Hasnat Khan, and finally Dodi — who was engaged when their relationship began.

Allan Peters, her own protection officer, even claimed she was the first in the marriage to ‘stray,’ with Mannakee, before Charles rekindled things with Camilla.

And it didn’t stop there — during her affair with Oliver Hoare, she allegedly made over 300 nuisance calls to his home, enough that police had to investigate after his wife reported it.

So let’s not rewrite history as though Diana was an innocent victim who only acted out after Charles. The truth is, there were affairs on both sides — and Diana knowingly pursued men who were already married or taken.

That famous line, ‘there were three in this marriage,’ was manipulative spin, not the full story.

Clearly you're not Meghan Markle because I highly doubt she'd be encouraging Harry to make any such reconciliatory manoeuvres.

But I agree, it would be nice to see. It would require a more mature attitude on his part however.

Because I like him, he has charisma.

Never come across someone who works overseas sometimes?

I don't know if it's true but I heard it was possible to twerk (and do 'twerking duties') alone.

After King Charles was diagnosed, one of the American showbiz magazines printed a story claiming to know the specific cancer he had and his prognosis, which was picked up around the world but obviously not published in the UK. At the time it was suspected the leak to the mag had come from Montecito after Harry's mad dash to the UK. When I read Harry's comment about his dad being the priority in the coming year, I did think it that it tallied with what the mag had printed.

The American magazines, usually sold at the supermarket checkouts, are hilarious in what they claim to know, especially about the Royal Family! About 10 years ago one was announcing that the Queen was in a care facility for dementia patients and there was a doppelganger carrying out her engagements.

Lots of people work overseas sometimes, yes.

However they're not usually resident in one country while officially representing another at the highest level and being funded by that country's taxpayers. Should British taxpayers pay for Harry's first class flights from LA to open a sports centre in Norwich for example?

And 'charisma' is most definitely in the eye of the beholder.

ozarina · 15/09/2025 14:59

Well Charles is seeing the results now of letting Harry in - it's stirred up a hornet's nest which I'm sure is the last thing he wants or should have to deal with. How poorly he is , his alleged thoughts about William. What a disgusting specimen Harry is. He will stop at nothing to get his name out there.

I think she is supportive of Harry's reconciliation with his family. I think they are desperate for financial stability.

OnceLostForMillennia · 15/09/2025 15:00

His problem is he just doesn’t think before he speaks, the lasting comments I heard in this entire thing is that he has to focus on his dad for the coming year. He is basically insinuating that he is unlikely to be around longer than that isn’t he - or if that is not his intention then he should have chosen his words far more carefully. My family are important to me and being so far away, my focus is to be able to spend as much time here with them as possible. Why the time frame. I would be furious if I was Charles and the other immediate family as it draws unwanted speculation.

dont think Meghan will come back to the UK, and if she did, I doubt if she would allow the Children to come to UK, and definitely not with Harry on his own.

Why does she get to decide if their father takes them to see his family? Is it all about her need for control?
