Not listened to the first in Meghan's podcast series, a conversation with the founder of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe Heard, but the Mail has collated all the press reviews so far, with links. The Guardian, Telegraph and i-Paper are unanimous: the podcast is cloyingly dreadful.

That’s just the US I notice - an interesting mix of podcasts make the charts there!

(Delighted to see The Rest Is History, which is my favourite, cracks the top 50 in the US, despite the fact they are currently in a deep dive about the last Anglo Saxon and Viking Kings of England, and the Norman Conquest. 😀)

I enjoy the Rest is History, but when they do their deep dives I have to wait until the full series is finished and binge listen. Good to see that they get listened to in America.

That chart is the Apple chart so will only look at podcasts listened to through their platform. Other people will listen through Spotify etc. It also only covers the US, but I assume that's her market. It's now down at 31. It's very hard to say how popular it is, but I think we can assume this isn't doing as well as Archetypes.

I think the problem is Meghan has a reputation now for her launches. There's a pattern. Loads of social media blurb about what's coming up with involvement of minor celebs followed by the launch followed by an initial surge of interest from the fans and the critics but it quickly wears off. There's never much to see and in a week or two the hype is forgotten. Meghan must be left thinking " is that it?" . I'm afraid that all her endeavours are going to be like this as she has earned a reputation as a fame hungry dishonest woman who will say or do anything to get herself talked about.

But the reason everything is forgotten after the initial hype is because there is nothing of interest in what she does, or as in the case of As Ever (and ARO of course), there is nothing in particular that people want to buy. I can’t think of one thing that she has done since leaving the RF that has continued beyond the initial launch 🤷‍♀️

Have any celebs or influencers promoted any of the As Ever products since launch - or is she asking them to hold off until there is stock - as not point creating a demand that cant be met.

Unreal, but not surprising !

Meghan has to be guilty of being the ultimate plagiarist in recent times.

Isn’t Pearl the meaning of her name (the original form being Margaret)? I always assumed that Pearl was a vanity project about herself and her own childhood precociousness.

Thanks for this linked article. Mel Elliott appears to be a very talented woman - I love the illustrations on the front cover of her books. So awful that she had to deal with cancer and the apparent rip off of her creation by MM at the same time - and could not speak out for fear of the Sussex Squad. How utterly rude of MM to not even acknowledge her letters, both personal and legal. But now we know why Pearl was probably dropped. Does Meghan Markle have a single, original idea in her head?

'Pearl' always sounded like an utterly dreary concept to me so I wonder if these legalities gave NF a convenient excuse to drop a potential turkey?

Having read the article it may be because the travelling in time to meet famous women wasn’t part of the original book series. That concept was one the author had developed to feature the Pearl character in 2019 as an animated spin off from the books. The first test animation featuring Billie Jean King was publicly visible on the author’s website and her social media channels.

Her lawyer's letter to Netflix stated: 'My client has been discussing this proposed series with her agent for more than two years. Apart from being mentioned on her website, this is also mentioned on the website voyagemedia which is a website that enables creators to connect with film and TV producers”.

@glitterturd A divine Damian colouring book! I've seen it all now! (I met him many years ago, he was absolutely lovely, as was his gorgeous and talented, and sadly late wife).

I suppose Meghan could commission one of Harry where she gets to fill in the balding bit.

Damian and Harry both have red hair, the latter rather less of it. There all resemblance ends. (Gloves are only off re follicular paucity because of what he said about William)

I reckon a ‘Colour Me Good Ginger - Harry’ version would sell very well on MM site. The Sussex Squad could then send their colouring in efforts to Meghan for her to post to her instagram.
