Not listened to the first in Meghan's podcast series, a conversation with the founder of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe Heard, but the Mail has collated all the press reviews so far, with links. The Guardian, Telegraph and i-Paper are unanimous: the podcast is cloyingly dreadful.

But he doesn’t live in the UK. Why are British taxpayers supposed to pay for him? When he does come to the UK, he gets security on a bespoke basis. So what more does he want or are you prepared to pay for?

eta he has managed to get here safely and has had what appears to be police protection today, whilst going to court 🙄

Edited

He wants what William has regardless of where he lives.

If only we could channel all that H&M hate energy into renewables, we’d have enough to heat Highgrove House—or maybe even fuel one of Prince William’s endless helicopter joyrides. You’d think with all that outrage, they could at least power a few wind turbines, but no, they’d rather complain on Mumsnet.

Oh I think William's so-called "endless helicopter joyrides" pale into insignificance when compared with Harry's casual and regular use of private jets, n'est ce pas?!

Security isn’t a lifestyle choice though is it. I’m sure he’d like to live without having take two or three burly blokes with him everywhere he goes. But he needs it because he’s a high profile member of the Royal Family, something he didn’t choose and can’t undo, and I don’t mind my taxes paying to keep him and his family safe from nutters and terrorists.

The fucker has security.

Why doesn’t she “spare” us all and just give up? They’re wealthy enough to live a quiet life aren’t they? It’s such a shame they weren’t prepared to live as part of the RF. The influence and reach they could’ve had would’ve been phenomenal, but everything she does is so weighed down by her own narcissism it’s just embarrassing at this point.

Id guess she has a certain drive she can’t just shut off, and a vision for where she wants to get to, as all entrepreneurs do.

"Entrepreneur" - don't make me laugh!!!

Hazeby · 08/04/2025 22:23

Mylovelygreendress · 08/04/2025 22:15

As he is no longer a working member of the RF it is Harry who puts himself in the public eye . Apart from The King and Queen plus the Wales family , no others have 24/7 security . Why is he different ?

He’s more high profile than the others and he’s the son of the king. Like it or not, he can’t be lumped in with the likes of Zara and Beatrice. And don’t tell me he puts himself in the public eye, he’s been world famous since the day he was born.

He only wants it for the UK though. He pays for himself in the US I think?

He doesn’t live in the UK. His choice. What has being more high profile got to do with it? He left. He loses his job perks. If he is so worried about safety, he should come back and live at a royal palace. But he still wouldn’t get security if he decided to go shopping. He’s not that important, no matter how much you or he want him to be

Anne , Edward and Andrew were DC of The Monarch and didn’t/ don’t have full time security .
Harry is only high profile now because of his ( and his wife’s ) behaviour.

As far as I can make out he thinks he should have IPP status . He said that he never thought his security would be removed so clearly thought the Met would accompany him wherever he went as they do with William .

Or the Irish Times freed from the hate virus - they probably save that for the Great Famine and Anglo perfidy and rightly so.

archive.ph/qbmk0

Neither of those are good reviews though? The NYT is just a summary, there’s no review at all, and The Irish Times one isn’t terrible, but it is more negative than positive:

‘But their treacly, ego-fluffing conversation – combined with Wolfe Herd’s reminder that royal gossip does a decent trade here too – only serves to underline how the culture gap between Ireland and the US remains as wide as the Atlantic. It seems unlikely to be closed by a multimillionaire and a duchess who want credit for daring to love themselves.’

YAWN.....

When the fuck will this woman be let out from living rent free in so many fucking heads??

Andthispointstowhatexactly77 · 08/04/2025 23:07

Leave her alone fhs!

Do know what, it’s a choice! If you dislike someone so much, you don’t have to constantly post about her!

Why not go and do something which brings you peace and joy instead? Your life will be happier for it, and it will do wonders for the dyspepsia 😄

It he doesn’t have to oh laugh a book saying he killed Taliban members. He’s out himself in danger.

Once again he DOES get security, but he wants armed officers at his side whenever him or his wife land in the UK, and he CAN get that under current arrangements - but only IF it’s deemed he needs it. If he doesn’t need it then armed officers should be spared so they can be deployed for crimes such as the Southport killings, or when a workplace is being held hostage at gunpoint or when someone is ploughing their land rover through a Christmas market.

He gets security in the UK. He’s having a taxpayer funded tantrum because he hasn’t got the same as his big brother. Sorry if his life really

Bollocks - why can't you understand he does have access to security? He just doesn't want to have to ask for it in advance!! Wants it sitting there on tap 24/7 365 when he is very seldom in the UK! Catch a grip! He is stupid and entitled.

Thank you so much for that nugget of wisdom. It's life-changing, nay life elevating!

You know what, someone puts themselves incessantly in the public eye, they are inviting comment. And they're fucked if they don't get that.

StaySpicy · 09/04/2025 00:44

I listened to about 20mins of the first episode. As someone just starting a business, I thought it might be interesting and useful. I gave up, though, because there seemed to be a lot of waffle (so much about the outfit she was wearing when they met?!) and not much stuff that I could actually use on my own journey. Which is what I listen to business podcasts for.

My pleasure wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting 😄

What you call “putting themselves incessantly in the public eye”, I call “earning their own money”.

Meghan was in entertainment before she met Prince Harry and to me it looks like she is just carrying on with business as usual.

Crazybaby123 · 09/04/2025 06:20

At this point, I am not sure if I dislike everything she does because I genuinly dislike it, or I am told to dislike it and bombarded with terrible reviews. I think it is the former, but I am very unsure.

True, but notably, they were free of the snarkiness and bile that has infected much of the British press—especially the kind Harry has taken on so effectively in the courts. The Mail, among others, hates him as much for that as for any supposed damage he may have done to the British royal family.

Harry’s real “crime” (not that there is one—and frankly, I’d rather see Prince Andrew sit down for an FBI interview, but in Trump-world, I won’t hold my breath) is choosing to leave the royal family to follow the love of his life to the ends of the earth, and to free himself as best he can from its stultifying restrictions.

However unorthodox that exit may have been, most of the world seems to view it with neutrality or quiet approval. Of course YMMV !

All the royals are like that—“Butler, put the toothpaste on, Sir,” and fussing over those bloody pens, all the bloody time. Harry’s just being one of them; the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Apart from St Anne of course - hallowed be her name.

Perfectlystill · 09/04/2025 06:29

He gets security. He just wants the same level as his brother, who is going to be the King and is a full time working royal, and his father, who is the King and a full-time working royal.

Harry and Meghan are not the same level. Why should our tax be spent on indulging this spoilt man child?

andyouwillknowusbythetrailofdead · 09/04/2025 06:38

to follow the love of his life to the ends of the earth

Or to follow a gold digger to California, so that she could pursue her life's ambition to be a big celebrity. I guess it's a matter of phrasing.
